Smart nutrition and fitness is run by Fiona Coppard who is a qualified level 3 personal trainer and nutrition advisor and a 3rd age women's instructor helping ladies who are 40 plus going through peri menopause and beyond,dealing with fitness and nutrition to help with bone health and helping to prevent osteoporosis and heart health and helping prevent heart disease as well as hormonal health issues that arise during this time.
Fiona is 49 years old So able to relate to women of this age .

Fiona has a direct and friendly approach and recommended small changes to my diet over a period of several months. This meant that I didn't feel like I was giving up lots of nice things all at once. She dispelled some myths aobut food that I had peviously thought was healthy and encouraged me to things I had stayed away from but which are so much nicer like avocado and nuts. She also provided helpful advice relating to my workouts at the gym. I trimmed down a dress size at least, my skin look better and my digestion was much improved. I recommend Fiona all the time! I have known Fiona for 5 years now and
I would thoroughly recommend her to anyone wanting to up their fitness and diet , especially for the 'young at heart' ladies and gents of a similar age to myself. Fiona will put you through your paces certainly and in a way best suited to your age and ability. We need those exercise endorphins more than ever and Fi creates new and interesting workouts weekly to keep your interest , and your heart pumping. She'll advise the best foods to suit some of the challenging changes for the over 45's , what's best to eat when and why!! No having to get ready and organised to drive to and find a parking space at the gym, book your session and this lovely lady arrives with all the kit needed to get your abs , arms, legs, bums and tums toned in the comfort of your own home (or garden on the sunny days). She also arrives laden with great humour, smiles ands incentivising enthusiasm (bags of it).... It is harder these days to keep the motivation to keep our fitness regime up & thankfully with Fiona by your side it seems easy again. An early morning session sets you up for your busy day ahead or that evening session could be the answer to a serotonin easy and refreshing night long sleep.
Benefits = limitless

After a significant weightloss I knew that I need a new regime of exercise and diet to support my intolerances. Fiona was amazing took time to write hit sessions and to discuss the best way forward, with 14 days my stamina has improved allowing me to do 2 hour dance classes and following Fiona food plan my meals are full of nutrition and taste amazing. Fiona is fantastic. After years of trying every fad diet and exercise routine known to man for the last 25 years I was still fat and tired. Fiona changed all of that for me and supported me throughout the process, picking me up when I fell off course and egging me on to keep going. She gives sound advice to fit your own lifestyle and habits and changed the course of my life completely. I can't thank her enough. I've lost over 3 stone with her and it's actually stayed off!! Q&As

I work with clients on a one to one basis and find out what they are trying to achieve. I find out what their fitness levels are by some testing and work to improve on that. With nutrition we look at areas that need to be worked on and draw up a food diary to fill in on a weekly basis and then make improvements along the way.

As a 3rd age women's instructor I do not believe women should try and put pressure on themselves to be the size they were at 21. I am interested in making my clients healthy and fit and balancing out their bodies with a mixture of exercise and nutrition , you body will change if you do it right but age is a factor as well as hormones.

Seeing women who enjoy life again when we have done a few sessions together as they have become easier on themselves and fitter have more energy and are healthier in mind and body .

I have always been self employed and I love fitness and nutrition and could see there was a gap for helping older women .

I am 49 and feel I'm in the right place to teach ladies the same age bracket as I know about balancing hormones and feeling tired and gaining a bit of weight as we age , better than a trainer who is younger and has no experience of women's health at different stages of life.
