Using industry leading software as standard, Smart Engineering has the ability, knowledge and experience to compile designs effectively. With over 15 years experience ranging from component design and development, safety enhancements, shop fitting, factory design and modification.
We can provide simple 2d building layouts to scale, suitable for planning applications and fabrication drawings. We produce 3d designs for products, engineering and architectural projects large and small.

2d Drawings
Using Autocad we can provide dimensional accurate drawings for planning and manufacturing uses. We have extensive experience in FMCG, food industry, product manufacturing, and construction industries. This provides us with the ability to understand your requirements and translate that into industry standard drawings.
Principally our business is to work with engineers from various customers to develop designs for products, buildings, special purpose machinery. Typically our 2d drawings are used for building or system layouts and translation of designed components into fabricated parts.
We have specific experience in design of automated factories, conveyor systems, pipework and ventilation systems, building layouts, steelwork fabrication, and commercial kitchens.
With having a clear understanding of materials and standard industry practices, we ensure that our designs are within the British and European guidelines. We are happy to use your own border/ branding systems and work within your existing numbering strategy or alternatively your welcome to use ours.
Core Services.
Production drawings. Such as engineering or manufacturing drawings that can be printed out and handed to a fabricator.
Construction drawings. 2d drawings of building layouts, floor plans, pipe/cable runs, M&E that can be printed out and handed to a construction team to show and overall assembly.
Line schematic drawings. Electrical wiring diagrams, pipework systems & Maps.
Paper to CAD conversion. We can convert existing 2d paper drawings into CAD format

3d Drawings
Most of our work is primarily conceived and developed 3 dimensionally. From product and packaging design to steelwork for buildings, we have the software and experience to meet your requirements. 3d visualisation has the added benefit of being able to easily visualise a specific design, comment and change it without any material cost.
Our 3d designs are mainly used in the engineering stages of development, they are generally then exported to construction and assembly drawings, visualisations for sales and training presentations or directly out via STL files to CAD/CAM technology such as 3d printing or machining.
The software can provide component stress analysis testing, direct CAD/CAM models for export and BIM visualisation. Animated visualisations and CGI for presentations is another core aspect of our business. We additionally contract chartered independent engineers to ensure the steelwork designed is certified and correct for construction.
In the planning and construction phases of our previous projects, the 3d visualisation has been essential for contractor coordination during installation. With the added benefit of the sub-assemblies being able to be constructed off site in a controlled and organised manner, installations are more efficient, providing a safer working environment on site and saving cost.

Hand sketch to model creation- We can create components from your sketches
Production models- direct for export to 2d production and fabrication drawings, and CAD/CAM technology.
Exploded and annotated assembly drawings- explanatory drawings showing how components are assembled.
3d concept and system integration- assembly of 3d components in a virtual workspace to allow for analysis and comment between teams of stakeholders. Typically for project engineering and coordination.
* 3d printing
With in-house 3D printing capabilities, we have the ability to print specific components directly on the desk for testing and feedback.
Our printer has the ability to print ABS and PLA composites that are inexpensive when compared to other material costs. In product development, the 3D printer allows us to offer a whole host of additional benefits when compared to more traditional methods of manufacturing such as costing the cost of time to market, saving the production cost of a prototype, lowering risk and providing personal 'feelable' items in your hand quickly with no waste.
