I had the pleasure of working with Coach Francisco from Puerto Rico and Coach Reinaldo from Venezuela. Both are excellent coaches. Each have their own style of teaching which corresponds to their unique style of kiteboarding, but both cover the same material with similar in-depth technicality. I took advantage of a promotion on the Platinum Upgrade package which is a 6hr course broken up into 3-4 sessions depending on weather conditions and your fitness level. My first session was wild! lol There was a lot of unpredictable wind patterns and needless to say it shocked the shit out of me and made me question whether this whole kiteboarding adventure thing was right for me =/ But towards the end of that session Coach Federico laughed and said "Now that you've seen how crazy it can get, you're ready for any weather condition!" and advised me that the next few days held some pretty amazing weather.The next few days were AMAZING, as promised! I learned sooo much with both coaches about kiteboarding, the gear, safety (very important), how to look at the weather, rules and regulations in Miami Beach, etc. Many people (former students and friends of the crew) come to this specific spot to kiteboard and they were all super nice and friendly. Everyone had that "lets grow the sport together safely and have some fun" attitude. It was surprising to see the genuine camaraderie between all and even saw the crew helping out non-students that were in distress.I was pretty amazed at the way the coaches pay close attention to you while you're learning. They're extremely focused on your every move (hands, head, body positioning) and could tell you exactly what you did wrong that led you to drop the kite or go for an unexpected/uncontrolled wild ride =) ... this happened to me many times lolNegatives: Although the location on the beach is phenomenal, parking will be a pain in the ass and will run mostly on luck. There's a parking lot on 27th St. between Collins and that other road that runs parallel to it... and another one on the beach side on 23rd St. and Collins. One day it took me 5min to park and another 30min.... so plan ahead. More...

Both instructors were super nice and welcoming. My husband recieved his first lesson and I came to watch with our children while also taking advantage of our beautiful Florida weather. They made us feel welcomed and not at all uncomfortable about me asking random questions. More...

I had  wanted to try kiteboarding for a while....just found out recently that you can learn right on Miami Beach at 25 Street. I stopped by Skybanditz last week to check them out and signed up for the 3 hour introduction course...I started the same day.I just completed the second 3 hour course and I am already at the launching stage....I can almost do it.The instructors are very patient and professional.   I think with a little more practice I will be able to ride for more than 5 seconds without crashing! I bought a groupon for two one-hour paddle boarding rentals and was extremely satisfied with my experience.  We called in the evening to make a reservation and Francisco mentioned there was time available now and invited us down.  Since we live on the beach we were able to get there in a few minutes.  This was our first time and we were given great instructions.  We had an amazing time paddle boarding in the ocean under a perfectly pink Miami sunset.  We had such a good time we decided to ask Francisco about buying boards of our own.  He gave us a lot of great advice on what to buy and seemed very genuine and sincere.  Definitely recommend Skybanditz! I had a great learning experience with Francisco as my instructor.  He was excellent at helping me work on some of my bad habits and learning how to handle the kite and the board.  he was easy-going and made the whole process fun. More...
