Complex business and fiduciary tax returns, trust administration and accounting, litigation support for civil, probate, and family matters, business valuation, and investment management.
Why is it so important for businesses to hire a great accountant?
Having a good accountant can make all the difference in the world. We have vast knowledge in the area of business taxation, business valuation, retirement planning and employee benefit issues. We have worked on over 300 litigation cases in civil, family, and probate court that gives us a very deep business knowledge that is hard to come-by.
What do you love most about your job?
Working with business owners and learning about their industry and business from the person who knows it best. As CPAs we love learning about what makes your type of business, your business model, your business run successfully. We have worked for water parks, restaurants, medical offices, orchards, real estate, the list goes on and on, but we love to learn about the areas that make all these unique businesses tick.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Jim Skorheim started Skorheim & Associates to focus more of his time on business litigation and forensic accounting matters, but still service his many business tax clients. He was later offered a position as Partner at the Orange County office of Moss Adams to head their litigation support department. After working at Moss Adams for many years he returned to Skorheim & Associates, still in litigation support, but also started growing the tax and business valuation side of the practice. Jim is now joined by his two sons James Skorheim (CPA, CVA, CGMA) and Jonathan Skorheim (Jd, CPA).
