Sklar Furnishings

We shopped at Sklar for some specific pieces for our new home. Jack was our sales person and we enjoyed his knowledge and recommendations when necessary. The selections were great, especially because they were so unique and different from what you see at all of the other area furniture and boutique stores. The lead time for our furniture was a little long due to the transit times coming from Italy but it coincided with our move in dates so not a big deal. The showroom experience was very pleasant and professional. I chose to pick the items up when in the warehouse because I was transporting them myself to Jacksonvillle. The warehouse staff left a little to be desired. Apparently I was expected to load everything in the truck myself while the 2 lazy b@$tards sat around watching me. Once I reminded them I was by myself and spent a lot of money on this furniture they finally pitched in. Everything arrived in perfect condition and we couldn’t be happier. The quality and fabrics all exceeded our expectations. After making the 300 mile trip north and unloading everything we discovered they left a piece of our sofa off the truck. The warehouse staff wanted to deliver it to me on their next trip north but I wasn’t having it. I spoke to the store GM and he was very apologetic and understanding and made arrangements to have it special delivered the next day. Now that’s customer service! Very nice selection. Lauren was extremely helpful, patient, and gave us better insight on what would work for us. Different leather textures available for the sofa you need and all Italian quality! I have been working with Sklar, specifically GB, since I bought my Florida home.  Sklar has beautiful pieces and things you will not see everywhere.  GB is fantastic.  Besides being a lovely person and a pleasure to work with, she has great taste.  She has wonderful ideas but does not push or put pressure on you to purchase.  GB is patient and gives you the time you need to make a decision.    Going shopping to Sklar and being with GB is fun.  She will give her opinion but will not criticize or question your taste.  My home has turned out beautiful and GB gets much of the credit for that.  I will definitely keep shopping at Sklar with GB because one always needs (wants) something new.Patti S. Beautiful store and excellent service.I live in Miami and go 1hr north to shop in Sklar despite having quite a few shopping options in Miami. The reason is selection and service.It’s a one stop place, you may finish your whole house plus outdoors while working with a single person in the single store, yet your furniture pieces might come from Different parts of the world. We worked with Gail (GB) & Jack. They were very attentive and knowledgeable. The showroom had lots of options to pick from and there were many more options in catalogs they showed us. They guided us and helped us pick beautiful pieces that work great together (custom finishes and fabrics) and give our condo a comfortable & tasteful feel. The furniture was delivered by pleasant and professional staff and Gail was there to supervise delivery. Our place wasn't quite ready so they stored it all in one of the rooms and sent a team back a few days later to assemble and put everything into place. I don't have to tell you how overwhelming decorating an entire Condo is!!!! Sara from Sklar Furnishings saved my sanity by helping me furnish from top to bottom
She was honest, practical, and extremely patient!!!!

Sklar Furnishings is an ultra-cool modern furniture store, but they are so much more than that. The owners, Pat & Rick Howard are philanthropic and care deeply about the community they serve. They recently celebrated their 15th anniversary by supporting one charity per month in the 15 months leading up to their anniversary. For the month of May, Sklar supported Place of Hope at The Leighan and David Rinker Campus by hosting a baby shower, collecting diapers and wipes and gift cards to support young foster girls with babies. Place of Hope at The Leighan and David Rinker Campus is a unique faith-based, state-licensed children’s organization providing family-style foster care (emergency and long-term); family outreach and intervention; maternity care; safety for victims of domestic minor sex trafficking; transitional housing and support services; foster care recruitment and support; hope and healing opportunities for children and families who have been traumatized by abuse and neglect throughout our region.

A little over three years ago my husband and I purchased a table and four chairs from Sklar's. Approximately two months ago I noticed that the fabric started to disintegrate. I contacted the store and was advised to forward some pictures to them and they,in turn,would forward them to the manufacturer and get back to me.Less than two weeks later I received a call back informing me that since the one year warranty had expired the manufacturer would not do anything for us,but much to our shock and delight,the owners wanted us to return to their store and pick out new chairs at NO cost to us!!!There is absolutely no doubt in our minds,had we purchased this in any other furniture store or major department store that we would be afforded the luxury of having our chairs replaced. The store has beautiful furniture and accessories. Many items you won't find anywhere else. The pricing was right. We live in NYC, my wife saw the items we purchased on a visit to the store while vacation. GB Bennet our Design Consultant did a good job. She was able to obtain for us two small coffees tables that were part of a larger group of three. Initially we were told we would have to buy 2 sets to obtain the small tables we wanted. She arranged the purchase and delivery to our apartment in Queens. The furniture arrived within 10 minutes of the scheduled time. Gail Bennett has done an excellent job of making my house look like we are in the year of 2018 instead of the late 90’s. She has a remarkable eye of seeing where a new piece of furniture, a rug or even a piece of artwork can completely change the room. Very Very unique furniture store, everything could be customized such as the color, size, and fabric. They had all types of pieces, from patio furniture to wall decor: you definitely won't find these pieces of art in your neighbors house. The customer service was exceptional, I was greeted within minutes of walking in the store; since it was my first visit  the store  greeter paged the store owner to the front.  She appeared with a smile, explained the store layout, the furniture options and made recommendations for my design inquiry.
