I am a companion/carer for the elderly and today I took a client of mine who has mobility issues into your branch. The service we receive whenever we visit is really good but today it was outstanding. Staff went out of their way to solve an issue she had. They made us both a cup of tea while they rallied round and sorted out her problem, making sure she was comfortably seated and safe. I contacted Skipton Building Society to enquire about their new Cash Lifetime ISA, the first of its type in the UK. Having applied for it online, I noticed that one of the conditions of opening the account was that I must not have subscribed to another ISA in the same financial year, which would have prohibited me from completing my application. However, Andie and the social media team provided a prompt and detailed response regarding ISA regulations, clarifying that I could mix and match my ISA contributions for the financial year as long as I did not go over my personal allowance. I was able to open a Cash LISA with Skipton later that day and have had faultless customer service with them both in branch and online ever since. Many thanks! More...

I recently opened a LISA with the Skipton Building Society which came with several issues during the switch from my Help to Buy provider. Julia in the customer service team was excellent in helping me resolve the issue, alongside their admin team and couldn't do enough to ensure I was satisfied. I requested a call using the website as it stated the lines were very busy and it would save me being on hold. To my surprise I received a call within 30mins, this was great, however, the service was even better. Spoke with someone called Katie on 27th Feb. She was really friendly and very helpful. Considering the usual painful of experience of having to ring banks etc I came away very happy with my experience and would say its the easiest and most pleasant telephone banking call I've had. I like to have my passbook for my accounts and to be able to go into a branch whenever I want to. Thankfully I can comfortably walk to the Cleveleys Skipton Branch and always feel welcomed and that I can ask for help and advice whenever I need to. This branch holds regular fundraising events for local charities and I particularly enjoy buying a gift for a local child every Christmas. I held savings accounts here for quite a few years and my husband and I recently moved our ISAs to the Skipton after our local YBS branch sadly closed down. My partner and I have recently gone through the process of transferring our Help to Buy ISA’s into our Lifetime ISA’s held with Skipton Building Society. Due to a delay with our previous provider, it had taken much longer than originally expected. (No fault of Skipton).

However, the regular and detailed updates from Jack Fletcher massively helped and kept us up to date with the progress of our transfer. Jack was always on hand and keen to assist us, either via Twitter or his direct line, and each request/query was dealt with in a very efficient and pleasant manner, making him extremely approachable for anything else either of us needed. Jack took full ownership with our transfers from start to finish, especially when the delays occurred with our previous provider. Nothing was too much of an ask, and the whole process was explained fully to the both of us throughout.

It goes without saying that Skipton should do all they can to ensure that employees like Jack are retained, and rewarded appropriately for going above and beyond in terms of customer service. Jack is a true asset to Skipton.

So thank-you Jack, from myself and Holly. You turned a very tedious process into an exceptionally satisfactory experience with Skipton Building Society, which will be remembered by us, and passed on via recommendation to our friends and family. More...
