We enjoyed a family get together at the Tithe Barn last weekend. We weren't actually staying in the holiday cottages. Some of the party live locally and we were looking for a comfortable venue for all to congregate. Jane and Leslie's function room suited us perfectly. Nothing was too much trouble as we had various dietary requirements as well as disabled guests. We opted for a cold buffet with hot additions (new pots, lasagne etc) and the most delicious lemon posset. (as well as a vegan option!!), fabulous cheese board and plenty to eat for everyone. We had personalised place mats with interesting facts from my dads birthdate and balloons! All in all everyone couldn't speak more highly of our experience. Eight of us stayed in the barns and travellers van so that we could celebrate my husband's birthday. We have stayed before and yet again found Jane and Lesley warm, welcoming and very helpful. We went out most days but on Thursday (my husband's actual birthday) they cooked a special dinner for us all. It was fabulous, wonderful food, attentive service and even a card from them. We stayed in the Owl Barn for two weeks while vacationing in Norfolk. Perfect location for day trips within the area. Fully equipped with everything one would need for self-catering. Very comfortable furniture and bed. Very peaceful setting with trails nearby. We felt completely at home while staying in the Owl Barn. Extremely comfortable (including good quality sofa bed), well-equipped self-catering accommodation in delightful farming hamlet surroundings. Hosts very welcoming from initial contact onwards (and most helpful with Wi-Fi problem in this particular Barn). We found and booked the barn as a last minute short break with our daughters 8 and 5 and we are so happy we found this barn. Jane was very helpful with accommodating us. We stayed in the Orchard Barn which was so cosy and had everything we needed, including games, dvd's and binoculars to try and spot the barn owl! The beds were comfortable and the shower hot ! We didn't get a chance to taste the breakfast but would love to return to be able to try the food :). The barn is in a great location and we visited Southall, Cromer and the Broads. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Owl Barn and indeed felt that the week was so satisfying we would love to return and have no hesitation in recommending it. |Both the owners are very hospitable and have ensured that the level of accommodation will exceed even the hardest of taskmasters expectations. Nothing has been overlooked to make your stay the most comfortable from beds, linen, towels, flooring, seating, TV and Hi fi and they will even offer to cook breakfasts and dinner should you require it. The barn is situated about one mile from the A146 so do use the owners directions which make it that much simpler to find the barn so you too can enjoy the peace and quiet and lovely views across their garden. There are plenty of walks close by and many lovely little villages to explore. Definitely a 10 out of 10!|| More...

Booked as a last minute break, we couldn't have made a better choice even if we had more time to research it. The hosts Lesley & Jane were very accommodating and very friendly and helpful from the start with directions and information about our stay. ||||On arrival (which was 4 hours earlier than predicted) we were greeted and welcomed by the owners and we were staying in the Owl barn which been awarded 5 stars to which it lived up to, everything was there that we needed and once we were shown around we were left to it. There was a lovely little surprise welcome pack for us and our dog.||||The barn was clean and quiet we had a fantastic break away from the hustle and bustle from London. We booked for The Hayloft, but were upgraded to Owl Barn. Wow ! It is absolutely beautiful. We spent the first 10 minutes just looking round the rooms going Wow. There was everything you could wish to find in the rooms and yet a lot lot more. The décor was very tasteful and the attention to detail amazing. We were warmly greeted and shown to the barn and then left to acclimatise ourselves, we were quite stunned. Lovely character but with all the modern appliances you could wish for with a wonderful walk in shower room. We also booked for breakfast and evening meals. What food, the evening meal would not be out of place in a Michelin rated restaurant. Wonderful. The breakfast too was delicious with lots of choices. Spotlessly clean throughout....very spacious...perfect for a week away from home...very comfortable bed. It's about 20-30 minutes drive to Norwich city centre which worked for us as we didn't want to be in the heart of everything. ..a bit tricky to find initially but was definitely worth it. Firstly I'd like to thank Leslie and Jane for helping to make my parents 28th wedding anniversary extra special and sorry this review has come so late. ||After reading the other reviews it shows the standard when only two reviewers have to deeply search their imaginations to find something bad to say about the Sisland Tithe Barn. My parent's opinion of the beautiful accommodation matches that of other great reviews. ||My parents stated that upon arrival, the rural, peaceful surroundings were stunning and breath taking; a welcomed contrast to the hustle and bustle of a busy London. We were welcomed by Leslie and Jane and led to orchard barn. Leslie and Jane were excellent hosts, very accommodating. ||The orchard barn was like a home away from home with all the amenities one could want and more. From boards games, to playing cards, to DVDs and books to read the hosts really thoroughly thought about every eventually. The kitchen was well equipped, my mum said that she had never seen anything like it before and was happy to see the first aid kit. They even had a small garden patio outside of the barn where we watched the sunset a few evenings. ||The breakfast was lovely, again Leslie and Jane were very accommodating. ||The ladies were very informative and had all the know how on the local attractions. ||The value for money is amazing it's definitely worth every penny and more. Jame and Lesley were incredibly accommodating, the room was clean, smart and comfortable with a wonderful shower, lovely cooked breakfast provided and they were happy to help with any requests we had. The key words for this B&B are 'attention to detail'. The owners have thought of everything and nothing is too much trouble. We booked the Hayloft for two nights but upon arrival we were upgraded to the Owl Barn (which was fabulous). Anything and everything was available in the barn and for anyone wanting to self cater in Norfolk then you really couldn't do better than staying in Owl Barn. I stayed here in November for a business meeting in Norwich the following day. Norwich is just 11 miles into the centre so ideal. I had a lovely self catering room which was spacious with all requirements for sc although I only wanted b&b I did use some as got a take away in Loddon the local village as pubs stop doing food early on Sunday (8pm). My partner and I spent three nights at the Sisland and we could not fault a thing. We had booked a room only but were upgraded to the apartment at no extra cost. ||It was exceptionally clean, well presented and well equipped. Sisland is ideally situated to explore Norwich and the surrounding area. Our hosts were lovely and friendly and very accommodating with nothing too much trouble. The food was great and produce locally sourced.||We cannot praise Sisland and its hosts enough having been to many hotels and B & B's around the country. We stayed in Orchard Barn which has 2 double rooms and is all on one level and open plan. Orchard Barn is perfect. Lesley and Jane are lovely with nothing too much trouble. The surrounding landscape is stunning and so peaceful, the barn is well equipped with lovely comfy beds and so clean. I have no doubts in recommending this little gem for a holiday or short stay. They also have other accommodation and cook meals on site too if requested. Our stay was perfect and with the resident cat (boris) and the local barn owl visiting most nights it made it extra special for us and we will return. We stayed at Sisland for two nights as we were going to a wedding in Beccles. Having read reviews before we arrived we knew this was a lovely place to stay and the reality didn't disappoint. ||We were met with a warm welcome after a long journey and shown to our room called The Hayloft. The rooms are spacious, decorated beautifully and so clean.||The bed was so comfortable and the shower heavenly.||All the essentials are provided the room such as tea, coffee and yummy biscuits. Also lovely toiletries in the bathroom.||Breakfast is delicious, lots to choose from and all locally sourced produce. A real treat.||Lesley and Jane are lovely, really friendly but never intrusive. We stayed Friday and Saturday night in the Hayloft. It is a beautiful barn conversion that has been added to by well thought out decor and attention to detail. Exceptionally clean and cozy. Aqualisa shower, not one of those drip fed things you get in some hotel chains. Mirrors for both me and my smaller wife :-). A lounge area with its own TV in the room. We have just returned from a week in Owl Barn, Sisland near Loddon and wanted to sing the praises of this lovely place. From the first contact, by e mail, everything was simply excellent. The barn has absolutely everything that you could possibly want and more! There was a lovely welcome pack with local products including apple juice, Kettle crisps and delicious ginger biscuits. Yum!||||The extremely comfortable superking bed deserves a special mention. So many good self catering and B+B places, even those that are 5 star, are let down by a mattress. Not here. We slept so well in such peaceful surroundings. The Barn is in a very rural location but it’s easy to reach other places as the main road to Norwich is only a minutes drive away. ||||Even the weather was superb too! ||||We would unreservedly recommend staying in Owl Barn. It thoroughly deserves the 5 Star Gold status that it has been awarded. No doubt the other accommodation options (Orchard Barn or the 2 rooms that are let in the main Tithe Barn for bed and breakfast as well as the Shepherd’s hut for glamping) are equally good.||||The Barn welcomes pets and provides all sorts of doggy essentials. We have just returned after staying a week in Orchard Barn and cannot praise it highly enough- the attention to detail and cleanliness was superb. Jane and Lesley, the owners are just wonderful, leaving a wonderful welcome pack full of local goodies and also supplied us with a huge box of fresh veg that they had grown.They are never intrusive but are always there if help is needed.
