How can someone tell if their Garage is suitable for conversion?
Every garage can easily be converted it depends on the proposed use and how much your budget is. You will need at least a certificate of lawfulness from the council and at most planning permission.
Run us through the different stages of the Garage conversion process - what's involved?
1. Get a designer and get several design layouts to select from
2.Submit your final design to the council for a certificate of lawfulness or planning permission as required
3.Get building control drawings including getting structural calculations prepared and submit them to the building control department for a conditional approval for building control
4. Prepare a written specification
5. Get builders to quote on your building control drawings and
6. Select your builder and sign a contract
