What’s the secret to keeping a party dancing all night long?
Saying "Talent" is everything would be too brief an explanation. There is the ability of a DJ or band leader, to read the crowd, know the client's preferences and then deliver on the goals and needs of the event. You want them dancing all night long? Make sure you' have a DJ or band known for doing that. One that is skilled, trusted and so much fun. Well how is that done? Preparation and communication early on, and then selecting an act that has the skills(experience) live and in the moment. Every celebration, every audience, every party planner is different. So knowing what you want, knowing how much you want to spend and knowing you've hired a strong or more versatile performer is important. It's not a secret really, just select the right fit talent in the beginning. Get them booked early in the process. We help party planners do that every week.
How would you describe your ‘style’?
Our style is modern, classy and the most fun. We have a variety of performers that can deliver high energy fun. They have such approachable personalities and they make friends fast! A lot of event planners come to us for events that want energy. But we can certainly tone things down. The key is we have the talent and experience to be able to do both. Some performers only have one speed. You have seen that...you know what I mean. We work closely with our clients to present the event the way they want things to be. They are the our boss and we lead with their goals in mind.
How long have you been interested in magic?
Well our Magicians have a passion for magic or else they would not be in the special event business. We audition performers every month. They have to be very good in front of resort and theme park audiences. Private parties are more intimate and require a close-up skill set. If you want to "wow" an audience it starts with putting the right fit magician in place. Is that going to be a magician who specializes in close-up, parlor, or big illusions? Take us through your show – what can we expect?
It's your show. Yes we have the talent to jump on stage and do our thing, however it's more fun collaborating and designing an event that gets guests having the best time possible. We enjoy creating an agenda, working with other party professionals and making the event a smooth and successful one.
What do you love most about your job?
Well as an entertainment director I enjoying casting the performers in great events. As a producer I enjoy providing, finding, or creating exactly what my client is asking for. And as a performer myself, I am always thrilled at being a part of someone's special lifetime moment. Celebrating life's moments is awesome, magical and certainly can take your breath away.
What inspired you to start your own business?
After years of working at Walt Disney World in Talent Casting, being on stage and then doing auditions, it was time for me to work for myself. I grew my company quickly. I am inspired by new technology and the way we can connect with audiences. SILVA brings people the best in live entertainment. Today I enjoy the opportunities to work with other creatives on their events and special occasions.
