I found Sidekick after trawling the net for covers bands who play in the area. After emailing Ian we went to watch one of their public gigs and were sold. Great repertoire with a bit of something for everyone, also featuring a few more unusual songs to keep the serious music fans happy. Daft Punk next to the Foo Fighters, what's not to like! We booked Sidekick to play at my husbands 40th party last Saturday and wow I'm so glad we did! They were absolutely brilliant! They played a wide range of songs to suit everyone's taste from Katy Perry to The Proclaimers to Daft Punk. All our guests at the party loved them and the dance floor was packed literally all night!! Thanks to Sidekick for an amazing couple of sets at our wedding! I think every song went down brilliantly with our guests and we had a full dancefloor throughout, despite the heat. Hired Sidekick for our wedding reception. Had an acoustic set during the dinner which really helped set a relaxed atmosphere followed by a full set afterwards. They played our first dance song perfectly and had the guests up dancing all night even playing requests. I couldn't recommend them more highly a perfect accompaniment to the evening! Dealing with Ian before the gig was great as he always replied promptly and always willing to listen to suggestions as well as giving us some great ideas. Would definitely hire again. More...

Better than 5 stars!!We booked Sidekick for our wedding in July. We did a lot of research but decided on Sidekick as we liked their set-list and demos on their website. As soon as we got in touch with them, we knew that we had made the right choice!They were excellent at staying in touch with us (we booked a long way in advance,) replying to emails promptly and they were extremely accommodating. They put up with all our questions and demands, setting up early, providing music and a microphone for our meal/speeches and they split their sets up exactly as we wanted!We trusted their expertise and professionalism and went with their own choices for playlists for both the day and evening. We were very pleased we did; great songs all round.They arrived on time and dressed appropriately for the occasion. Their performance was absolutely brilliant and got everyone dancing. We loved their song choices and the energy that they put into it (their remix of Fresh Prince of Bel Air and House of Pain was a particular floor-filler!) They also put music on for their well-deserved breaks between sets to keep the party going.A few of the most excitable of our guests actually got up on stage with Ian to sing who dealt with it in good humour and got them involved. It all added to the great atmosphere that they helped to create.We can't recommend them highly enough, everyone at the wedding is still raving about them months later; and they were amazing value for money! Sidekick played at my wedding reception on 31st August 2013. On the run up to the wedding, they were really helpful, answering all my questions and offering advice if I needed it. My husband and I were very particular about the music we'd like (and even more particular about what we didn't!) but again, nothing was too much trouble. We built a set list together based on their catalogue and our music tastes and still managed to keep all the guests happy.On the day, they were in touch via text message, worked around our schedule and put on a cracking set. They learnt a song especially for the day (and played it fantastically) and dedicated a song to Mother of the Bride! We hired Sidekick for our wedding a couple of weeks ago and have no regrets - the guys are absolutely lovely and great fun, which comes through in their music. Their selection of songs was fresh and upbeat and had a good mixture of old and new. They were happy to learn a couple of extra songs to request, including our first dance, and laid on a rehearsal so we could go listen before the big day and make sure we were happy with the arrangement.They were very professional and accommodating, and were even happy to loan instruments when the groom's band asked if they could put on an impromptu performance and knock out a couple of songs.They helped make the day special, and we're grateful to them for their hard work and overwhelmingly positive attitude. I have had the pleasure of seeing these guys a few times now and hired them personally for 2 Halloween parties. They are so talented, friendly and professional. They are very accommodating and go the extra mile by dressing for the occassion. I was chuffed when they turned up for the parties in scary costumes. A friend of mine told me about Sidekick after seeing them at another wedding. I was starting to feel like i was in the Wedding Singer, trying to find a band for my wedding and listening to all manner of awful. None of the bands really seemed to appreciate that it was my wedding and were keen to try and tell me what they would and wouldn't play. Sidekick listened to the sort of thing i was after, and made suggestions but didn't give me a list longer than my guest list of what they would and wouldn't play. They were fab - great band, friendly and everyone commented on how great they were... so much so that a friend has booked them now for her birthday party! More...

These guys performed at my 30th party last year (2012), they absolutely MADE the party! They played a fantastic range of songs that everyone knew, kept everyone moving and as the night went on the atmosphere really built up!
