This was the best class I could have taken for my lifeguarding certification! It’s was interactive, fun, and engaging. The class was quick and extremely helpful for a person who is not on a swim team or some one who doesn’t have that much experience.

I attended one of John's sessions last week. For reference, I was first certified back in 2010 and was seeking recertification. Taking John's training was an experience — in the best way. He was an energetic, engaging instructor and went out of his way to connect with his students. (If you've ever been subjected to a corporate HR seminar, you're aware of how valuable a skill this is!)Most of all, though, I appreciated how he provided context for how the course content would affect each of us personally. John makes CPR easy to memorize for the rest of your life!

Unreliable: John was scheduled and confirmed to be at our home to do CPR and infant safety training for me, my husband, and our childcare providers. We scheduled time off work and waited for him to arrive. He never showed up, and after emailing him, he replied '?'. When I called, he said he was sorry but he forgot and would appreciate if I reschedule. We are disappointed John did not offer to do anything to make it right for wasting our time (we both run companies).

UPDATE: John was more than professional and took great care of us during our rescheduled session yesterday. I highly recommend him and his service and happy with how he handled the reschedule. More...

I have had John from Shoen Safety do our CPR and First Aid training for the last five years, and every year I learn something new and practical. John is such a joy to have as an instructor, and just recently in the last two weeks, I was able to use some of the skills learned here at my childcare center when a child had a febrile seizure.
