Turnaround time was quick (after confirmation of proof 1-2 Days) especially during the holiday rush. We had embroidery and the vinyl service. The vinyls turned out great, we will need some time to see how well it holds up. Denise did a great job. The response time was great, communication via email. The embroidery setup fee ($50-$70, depends on # of shirts I think) and vector file setup ($20) fee was a little pricey compared to other T-shirt shops around the area. We chose this place because the other T-Shirt shops declined the T-Shirts that we choose and said it would not work and would not take the risk but Denise took us in right away. I guess 28 years of experience is much better than the new start up shops around the area. 1 star is taken away because the guy at the shop was not very good at "customer service". No emotion, not welcoming, only answering "yea, no" when asked a question, no further explanations. Other than that, I would recommend this place for custom TShirts and Accessories. More...

Just left, I met James and the owner. I ordered two items to be embroidered, they said they'd be done the next day. They 'lied,' they were done the same day (just a joke). I was previously using a different tshirt vendor until I had asked someone in my volleyball league where they got their jersey. They had said they got them from Shirts Illustrated. What I liked about this vendor is that we could order the sports/wicking jerseys (and not cotton) in a design/style that we like and without a minimum qty. I've placed maybe 4 orders from them so far over the last year, just doing a reorder as we got new players. They had messed up the color printing on our first order, but quickly offered a partial refund, and profusely apologized. The coloring mishap was not offensive so we decided to keep the shirts that way (and going forward on reorders). Denise has been the person I've been primarily working with and she has been awesome and responsive. She has been able to get our jerseys done in short amounts of time, and I truly appreciate that. Came in one day with four shirts with only a little idea about how I wanted my shirts to be embroidered. They were patient and let me take my time thinking about the stitch color and font. The very next day my order was ready! However, I realized I made a mistake on one of the shirts. They took my shirt back to change it free of charge! AND, it was ready the day after! If you walk in to any volleyball league north of the loop, you'll find teams with tanks, tees, and jerseys all designed by Shirts Illustrated.  I was sent by one such team to have our shirts made and had an awesome experience.  Not only did they have time to chat every time I called with questions that proved my ignorance in all things clothing, but they also corresponded over email within a few hours each time with follow-up information.  I've gotten two orders done here and both were finished within 3 days.  Fast, and courteous. Some of the other reviews reference lukewarm customer service.  Everyone here is trying to get you the best product possible.  They are friendly, good listeners, and welcoming.  You walk in the store and there are treats awaiting you on the counter.  James took one look at me when I walked in and got my product without having to remind him who I was.  They run an efficient business dedicated to helping you create something special.  The quality of their work speaks for itself and you get exactly what you ask for.Thanks, Shirts Illustrated! I needed some T-shirt printing for Christmas, so I called several places. I called shirts illustrated and they seemed to be the best choice. I walked in the store and the man I talked to on the phone was working in the back. His name is James. I walked back there, told him my predicament and he told me he'd be able to take care of it.He told me he'd be finished by 5 pm and I was happy. super awesome store! i went to the shop on tuesday and want them to embroider name on chef shirt which is a gift for my friend who's gonna leave chicago soon and i have to meet him on next they. staff who i met he told me it will take time at least a week to get it done!! because they have a lot of shirts before me to embroider.  i told him the reason why i need it to be done asap! and he was totally understand. he said he's gonna ask for me.. he came back and told me he can make it for me!! i give them 5 stars for incredible service!! he didn't ignore client like me even i am such a small client who want them to embroider only one shirt!!! When I was tasked with ordering jerseys for an office sporting event, I found Shirts Illustrated on Yelp and felt confident with ordering from them.  The entire process from requesting quotes through pick-up took exactly one week.  Lani was very helpful throughout the ordering process and put up with me through LOTS of back and forth via email.  Everything was very professional and the jerseys looked great.  When I called to say I was running late to pick the shirts up, they waited at the store for an extra 15 minutes past close to make sure I was able to get them.  I will definitely order from them again! This was the second time I got some logos put on scrub tops for my office staff.  I tooka pile over there without an appointment, and they estimated it would take just over a week for it to get done. .....they actually got it done in 3 days!!!!!   The work was clean, and the service was very professional, and friendly.  They had my previous order from 3 years ago, and all the records of it.   That was very helpful and made it easy.  I would definitely trust them with any logo or printing needs.   I was recommended to them, and certainly feel it was a good recommmendation. I'll never understand a business that plays hard to get. To be clear, I'm not talking about one that creates demand for their goods/services; I'm talking about one that is simply unresponsive - despite numerous attempts to throw money at them.In the past year or so, I've been in charge of outfitting various team endeavors with custom tech tees. My last vendor did good work, but to get to the finish line I had to continuously hound her. The last straw was the order I took to Shirts Illustrated; I asked my old vendor to price it out and left it to her to make the next move. It's 3 months later and... nada, zip bupkiss.Majorly annoyed and too busy to go through the frustrating cycle of reminders, I contacted Shirts Illustrated at a friend's recommendation. I immediately loved their catalogs available on line - it saves a lot of back and forth. I was immediately impressed with Shirts. When I couldn't find the tech tees I wanted, I reached out and quickly got a response; they could get my shirts and imprint them. In fact, every inquiry was turned around within 1-2 business days and was always polite and informative; even when I added an item last minute. My order was turned around quickly, much faster than I expected; I was notified by phone and emailed copy of my final order invoice. Getting an invoice from my last vendor was like pulling teeth; I usually ended up learning the exact cost of an order when it hit my CC bill.Since Shirts is a local brick and mortar, I was able to pick up my order and save shipping. While I was there, I was thrown by how much merchandise they have onsite; they don't just do apparel, but all sorts of promotional merchandise too. With Halloween coming up I need to piece together a costume so I can show up to the party and not be that guy... unfortunately I tend to procrastinate and went into Shirts Illustrated with only a couple days to spare. ...David greeted me right away and asked me what I was looking for.  And despite my lack of good taste he was able to find the exact right shirt I needed and priced it all out for me.  He warned me that they usually require a few days lead time but made a quick check with one of the ladies in back and assured me it would be ready in time.  I pre-paid and was out the door.  David called me before I got home to double check a detail and told me he would call back when the shirt was ready.  Two days later the shirt was done and I could not be any more pleased. They've customized my marathon shirt. Just PERFECT.Ive had my own idea how I wanted my name on the shirt, but they were creative and suggested some different styles etc, and 3 days later I picked up the most amazing shirt. Was worried I would not have some t-shirts made in time for an event this past weekend.  E-mailed Denise at Shirts Illustrated and she was confident they would be done in time.  Despite the fact my order was placed over the phone, Denise was able to read my mind and not only make the exact shirt I wanted, but they were finished in less than 48 hours!  I would have expected to overpay for a rush order like this, but I was blown away when she told me the total came to less than $15 a shirt.  Truly exceptional experience. I have been running the Chicago Marathon and other races for the past 5 years. In each of those years, Lana, at Shirts Illustrated has helped me compose the layout for my race shirt and executed the plan to perfection. This year she outdid herself with my shirt which has the contents of my facebook profile photo on the back of the shirt. The price was reasonable and the shirts were done before the promised dates. my experience was as such:crazy work deadline. crazy work deadline. crazy work deadline.crap! it's the day of the big Michigan/Michigan State game! need shirt with hilarious ribbing of pompous U of M a-holes made STAT!google search local t-shirt places. find shirts illustrated is a short bikeride from me with weekend hours. call for info. guy who answers tells me for one shirt with just iron-on letters they can have it for me whenever I need it. i say 'like by this afternoon?' he says 'of course!'i ride down. choose my tshirt (they had lots of good choices). give him my order. pick out my letters. bada-bing. bada-boom. he tells me it should be ready in a few hours.i ride home. walk in the door. my phone rings. shirt's done! finished product was just what i wanted and for $17. no need to go to a swanky bucktown/LP t-shirt boutique where they charge an arm and a leg and have shirt choice A or B. good stuff. good people. lots to choose from.my ONLY beef, which really isn't a beef, is they should have more fonts in the MSU green. just sayin...I will be back for more hilarious MSU and bears specially made one-liner shirts fo sho!(ideas: 'kissing cousins' 'hurricane ditka' 'sparty is my homeboy' 'bear down mother f-ers' 'olsen is my baby daddy' etc.) More...

We recently placed an order with SI and were very happy with the result. This business must be tough since they face stiff competition from similar web businesses. At first we felt as if we were being ignored somewhat, but in the end the owner did an excellent job setting up and completing our order, which consisted of embroidered and screened pieces. The pricing held up against what we found on the internet, and in the end we liked being able to see what we were buying ahead of time as well as not pay for shipping. I'll definitely use them again.
