Mediterranean restaurants seem to be popping up all over but this is my new favorite in the area. Everything is so flavorful and had a fresh grilled flavor. The service has been great and you can order online. Try the cauliflower, holy cow it's so tasty! More...

My twelve year old raved about this place and he is not super particular but apparently they really impressed him during his last visit. I walked in not expecting much and walked up super satisfied. We started with a cauliflower appetizer that could have easily been served in a five star restaurant. Here it comes in a cute little pot. A very zesty and delicious starter. We ordered two different beef sandwiches and both loved our choices. We opted for the fresh bread. I believe its a dollar more and worth every penny.I could probably give this place five stars but the waitress/cashier was sour for some reason and wasnt really interested in helping us with the menu or clearing plates from tables that left. Considering there are a lot of unique items on the menu, I would have appreciated a little more enthusiasm and interaction. More...

AWESOME. If you're unsure of a lunch or dinner spot and browsing the web; look no further! Ordered a chicken shawarma, and it's was sooo good.It comes with a hummus plate, garnished with beauuuutiful olive oil, and a few whole chickpeas. And some pita on the side.It also came with an awesome little salad, tossed with a small amount of vinegar and dressing, and thin croutons.I also subbed the rice out for veggies and got fire roasted red peppers, absolutely dank broiled and oiled cauliflower, picked raddish, onions, and actual pickles. All home-made with different flavors. The restaurant was clean, active but not packed, well decorated and they had ambient classical piano playing. Will be back later this week as I am here in town for one week. Rock on boys! More...

Stumbled upon Shesh Besh while exploring when my boyfriend was at a dentist apppointment and absolutely loved it! They have a thorough menu and the food was amazing. I loved the cauliflower and my wrap was incredibly flavorful as well. The cashier was helpful in explaining the side items and I thought the prices were fair for what I got. If we are ever in town we will definitely go back. More...

This place is still super awesome. I am really bad at deciding what I want, which is how I found out they have a secret "build a bowl." Yes yes YES!!! It was good folks. Hard to find a little...not really where you think a restaurant would be. It is down in the center or a strip mall, just keep your eyes peeled. Had a sandwich, garlic and rice. Personally I think you could skip the rice, it was fine, but the sandwich was sooooo good that it was totally unnecessary. I got the turkish bread and it was delish, the filling was good. Garlic...goooood.In response to some of the criticism, of course there is no wine, it is a Turkish restaurant. But I digress. It is delicious, swift and fairly inexpensive. Think qdoba style, sorta loud. Great for a quick bite. More...

Ran into this little strip mall gem while exploring the area for a lunch spot we hadn't tried yet. I'll come out right off the bat and offer my only "con" for this place: they don't serve alcohol so no wine with dinner or lunch. That aside, this place is wonderful. It's half sit down and half counter seating. The food is great and the atmosphere and decor are well executed for a strip mall joint. We ordered the lentil soup which was absolutely phenomenal and then shared an appetizer sampler. Everything was delicious and very reasonably priced. My wife is really picky about her stuffed grape leaves and didn't like these as much as some others she's had but I thought the opposite, I loved them. Anyway, it's a great restaurant if you like Mediterranean food. The bottom line: if you like really good Mediterranean food and aren't looking for a "sit down with a glass of wine" sort of place, then you are in the right place. More...

The food was very good, and I would go back again.  I had a big salad with chicken shawarma that they are roasted right in front of your eyes.  It's unbelievable how anyone even came up with layering chickens on a skewer until you get a big block and then slow roasting it until it is soft and delicious!  My hat is off to the whole method of cooking like this.  The other thing is the food looks fresh, you can see the food right there.  You can't stop tasting the savory flavorings once it enters your mouth and hits your tongue - ooooh so good!  I need to get some right now, but its too late.  I am telling you, I  have only gone once, but I will be back to try the other things on the menu.  I am so glad they moved there and I cannot wait to go back. I ordered three sandwiches one Falafel one kafta and one chicken shawarma. All three sandwiches were phenomenal! While it takes awhile for the food to come out, it is definitely worth the wait. The sandwiches all have extra touches on them, such as the garlic sauce being spread across evenly so that every bite has its rich taste, the bread being toasted at the end so that it's crispy and warm. These little things all make for a really good sandwich eating experience. I'm surprised how there were so few people at the restaurant because the food that they make definitely deserves high praise for an area that already does Mediterranean food quite well. While the service is slow, they are respectful and courteous. The place is not a formal "sit down and be waited by staff" place but rather you order the food at the counter, pay, and take a seat in the back. This is just something to keep in mind; if you were looking for a formal dining experience, this place would not be the best place to go. Yet, if you're looking for a quick bite and craving sandwiches, this place will surely deliver! More...

Tried their sandwiches (chicken shawarma, kofta, and falafel) today and they were SOOOO good. Price is very reasonable for the quantity and quality. It takes a bit of time for them to make it, but you can tell they put a lot of attention to detail to making their food. The pita bread around our sandwich was toasted and crisp, but did not fall apart. The ingredients inside the sandwich were homogenous and steaming hot. Their garlic sauce is strong and really good! I will definitely be going back to try some of their entrees and other things. Really happy I stumbled upon this place. Interior is very clean. Their are tables in the back and counter top seats in the front. Light, catchy music playing in the background. Service was attentive and thoughtful. If you are in the mood for authentic middle eastern food, definitely stop here! This is my favorite new middle eastern place. The food is zesty and healthy. If you're a bit of a health nut or try to be, you will like this place- everything is fresh, flavorful and savory. I got the chicken shawarma and fattoush. Believe it or not I was obsessed with the fattoush salad and the dressing although copious was delicious! It tasted almost as if garlic paste had been mixed in with it.  I will say it would be smart to carry a mint with you post dinner or wash it down with some desert as I can taste the garlic still but that is not a bad thing!  I can't wait to come back and try different items on the menu and think it is also a plus that the shawarmas are offered on different types of bread too! I almost overlooked this place. The fast casual dining Mediterranean places have been popping up, so I wasn't planning on trying. However a friend recommended their shwarma. Ok, I'll give it a chance. So so so glad I did. Their shwarma sandwich is really amazing. The shwarma is seasoned so well and oh my goodness tender. This is really important, order it on Turkish Bread. That bread is so flipping good and elevates the sandwich to a new level. That bread is, I think, prefect to compliment any dish there or anywhere.Don't leave without trying the Rkakkat. Basically fried cheese heaven. It's the new cheese sticks!Their hummus and baba ghanoush are both outstanding. It's the first time I've had baba with pomegranate. It's great with it. It gives it some sweetness and crunch. So far the food was outstanding. The grape leaves was great in flavor but the texture could put some off. They are pretty mushy so stone may not like it.I wish they used more eco friendly carryout containers though. I'm not a fan of Styrofoam and plastic. More...

MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMUMMMMMMM Good!  I rarely eat Middle Eastern food in restaurants as it is my ethnic background and my Grandmother (May She Rest In Peace ) was the best of the best when it came to cooking.  So who can compete w that when you have your mom and aunts that learned it the same way she made it? It's rare for me to go to a middle eastern restaurant but I have to say I love street food and shawarma is so freaking delicious that I had to walk in.   It's located on the Northwest Corner of 14 Mile Road and Orchard Lake Road.   It's in the same plaza as Whole Foods and right next to SteinMart.   I recognized an older distant cousin of my mom's (but of course forgot her name bc my mom has a zillion cousins) and she was getting take out.   We said hello and she told me I was going to love the food.  I knew right away I made a great decision bc most women my mom's age can cook Middle Eastern food like no tomorrow and here she was getting carry out from this place! And it looked like she was feeding her entire household w the amount of food she was getting! Yes this place caters! Now the place has a glass bar counter to select toppings and watch food being prepped but expect to wait 10 to 15 minutes for your food to be made.  These two guys are hustling behind the counter but people are calling in, I went at lunch and I recommend that you call ahead w your order! They have a dining room area to sit in as well but a lot of the business is Carry Out.   I ordered a Grilled Beef Kabob sandwich and a Chicken Shawarma sandwich (which I asked if I could add tabbouleh and hummus to it and they did, try it that way, you're welcome!) I got the beef one way it's served but no onions.  It was lunch time and I had another meeting.  But I forgot about the garlic spread so it was pointless to say no onions!! But I digress! They make the sandwiches fresh right there, the smells are amazing! You have a choice of Turkish bread or pita bread.  I wanted Turkish bread but my hips cried and yelled at least get pita! So I did.  And a side of Fattoush salad.  Don't judge me.  It's smells so good in there and I could tell these guys know what they are doing!   After your sandwich is made, it goes back on the grill w a press on top of it.  The bread is crispy when you bite into it but it doesn't break and fall apart.  It was timed perfectly! The flavors were so wonderful and the meat was juicy and tender so was the chicken.  This place is a definite favorite!  You have to get the garlic spread w these sandwiches bc it tastes amazing, just don't go on any first dates, job interviews etc for at least 24 hours after though.  This is true for any place that serves garlic spread! You taste it and smell it for a while!  But man it's worth it! See pics the food is amazing and I very much recommend this place! More...

Care to roll the dice Roll a Shesh Besh gets you 10 percent off your bill. Shesh Besh literally means a Turkish game very similar to backgammon, the name comes from Hebrew word of six (Shesh) and the Turkish word of five (Besh) to indicate the originality. Yes I drove 29 miles to eat as told to me the very best Falafel in USA OMG truth be told be the tip. Reading many reviews say the same exact thing.  Upon entering the Master Chef open air kitchen say hey I know you from our restaurant in Dearborn Mashawi oh yeah you the great Syrian chef that kept me coming back for more how cool.  He handing out samples of the Famous Spicy Syrian Red Bread OMG only found a handful of eating places around metro Detroit. We started with the Hummus Trio a plate full of regular,  Red Pepper and Black Olive Hummus  a must order.  Had Falafel Fatoush Salad a winner to start your dinner.  The combo platter Chicken Tawook,  Kafta,  Beef Kebab with a dish of Baba Ghanoush all spot on delicious.  Lentils Soup so great we bought a quart. Chef treated us to a mix plate of Stuffed Grape Leaves,  Pickled Cauliflower n LEBANESE SPICED POTATOES (BATATA HARRA) outstanding balance of flavor.  Most beautiful interesting interior design someone has a wonderful skill. Quaint seating area holding couple dozen hungry patrons.  Large amount of take out order's.  Just 2 doors over from Whole Foods a super location.  Find them on Yelp,  Facebook and Google also a great website. I give this place a 4 because of the service. I would say the food is a 3. We felt a lot of the food lacked seasoning. I did like that with the plates you get a salad, hummus, and some vegetables with your meat. Seemed like a really good value, but the food needs a little more. I actually would give the service a 5. The gentleman that took care of us at the counter was super knowledgeable about the food, which is important with dining out with a youngin with a sesame allergy. He was very careful to make sure there was no cross contamination and led us to the safest items to order for our son. I was also very confused about the drink situation here... I'm hoping as they are open later the drinks and flavor of food gets sorted out. More...

This is becoming an occasional lunch spot being close to my job.  I have to say they are definitely using quality ingredients.  As a result the prices are pretty high so I can't go here as often as I'd like but when I do I'm definitely satisfied.  The grilled chicken full dinner is around $20 but you will absolutely have leftovers.  The chicken is tender, juicy, and flavorful.  It comes with sides such as hummus and salad so you aren't bored with just one thing.  Ask for some garlic spread and you are all set!  On a side note I've also posted a picture of one of their bowls that I chose both kafta and beef shawarma as the proteins and several toppings.  The proteins were flavorful but the toppings that made up the bowl just didn't do it for me.  Maybe it just needed a signature sauce to tie it all together...who knows! The falafel was the absolute best that I've ever had! I also had the chicken shwarma salad and that was excellent too. I would highly recommend this place!

Very flavorful skewers and kabobs, everything tasted super fresh. The beef was especially tender, and the grilled veggies had a nice char from the grill. We've been here twice and both times I felt that everything needed a bit more seasoning, but the garlic gave it a needed punch. We will be back, for sure! More...

As a Lebanese person I'm very very very picky about my Mediterranean food. Most restaurants near me aren't even worth it. There are two places in Michigan that are absolutely delicious and worth going to Shesh Besh grill, and Beriut bakery. Shesh Besh Grill has such high quality tasty food (better then my mom makes.) The staff is very friendly and welcoming. GO THERE! More...

Really great authentic Arabic food and fast service! We ordered two types of kabab, hummus, fattoush, and fatteh. The fattoush is one of the best I've ever had and the kababs both tasted very fresh. Presentation was also impeccable

This place is beyonddddddd amazing. They have vegan options which not a lot of Mediterranean restaurants have ( and no it's not falafel). Their service is wonderful, the workers are all quick to respond and genuine. More...

If you like authentic middle eastern then this is the place. I don't live nearby but had a meeting in the area and needed lunch. Yelp had the "hot and new" flame and it looked like they might have kunafeh, an amazing hot cheese pastry dessert. Sadly, they did not have kunafeh that day - it really has to be made fresh and it can't sit for long - but they have a wonderful variety of familiar and unfamiliar dishes. I had the Raheb and Kafta Istambuli - both fresh and delish! Friendly service as well. As others have noted there is more seating in the rear. More...

Best shish kafta around. The meat was cooked perfectly to order. The Grilled beef kabob was recommended by one of the employees so I got that as well. Perfectly marinated chunk beef also grilled perfectly to order. The build out is really nice and impressive knowing it used to be a caribou coffee. Will be back!! More...

Chicken shawarma is incredible and you have to try the pistachio dessert! You toss the dice for $'s off your bill and the owners couldn't be more welcoming!

I tried Shesh Besh for the first time and I was very pleased. The chicken fattoush salad was fresh and one of the best I've had. The chicken was freshly grilled and very tender. In my opinion, this is the best middle eastern food in the area besides Dearborn. More...

Good Vegetarian Options!Looks like a takeout only place, but has a decent amount of seating space in the back if you want to dine in.Well priced sandwiches (Recommend the Turkish bread option for an additional $0.95, completely worth it). Tried a couple of the salads and they were good as well.Just be aware that if you choose to make the sandwich a bowl, you'll end up paying $3 extra which isn't mentioned on the menu. All in all, great place, with fantastic flavour and good prices. Already a regular here. More...

This storefront used to be a frozen yogurt shop and Shesh Besh retained the topping bar refrigerator as an ingredient system. When you walk into the front entrance, it looks like a fast "meal in a bowl" place but it's not really like that at all. There are tables in the back where you can get standard dining service and barstools in the front for people that want a quick lunch. We ordered two sandwiches and an appetizer - both were quite good. I would especially recommend getting the vegan sandwich (eggplant, potato, cauliflower, and tomato mix) on Turkish bread. More...

We went in on a Sunday night. Things I like about this place:1. It's open till 11pm2. New place fresh food3. Chicken shawarma bowl was to die for, skewered kebbeh roll with Arabic bread was even better and the Raheb salad was really light and fresh4. Shesh besh means 65, so they made us roll a dice and since we got 6 and 5 on the two di we got 10% off on the bill5. The staff was very nice and friendly6. The food was affordableAll in all I would highly recommend this place. Will be back to try their falafel!! More...

Just had the chicken shawarma sandwich and it was delicious! My husband had the beef kabob sandwich and he said the beef was very tender and the sandwich was flavorful. And then there was the falafel.....best falafel we have ever had! Great flavor! The wait was a tad long for the food but it was all very fresh and tasty! You can eat in or take out. Place had nice decor and was very clean. The people were friendly too. More...
