Christmas shopping was easy and early this year! I bought inspirational shirts for all my sports fans. There was a ying-yang design for everyone: skating for my son, yoga for my daughter, golf for 2 of my friends, tennis for my favorite uncle. What makes a great website?
A great website is one that is easy to navigate and provides customers with a clear understanding of the services that you offer. If a visitor has to click more than 2 times to find the information they are looking for, they will be frustrated and be inclined to leave. Having easy to find contact information is also key.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
What are your goals for this project? What do you like or dislike about your competitor's logo, website, marketing materials, etc.? Do you have a specific budget in mind? This is probably one of the most important questions. If we get that one answered right upfront it saves everyone a lot of time. Small budgets don't mean that I can't work with a business, they just require adjustments in expectations.
Describe your creative process.
I spend a little time getting to know what my clients are looking for in an initial conversation. Then I look at their competitors online and brainstorm various ideas until a few stand out from the crowd. I like to show my clients rough options during the creative process so I can get a feel for what they like and don't like early on. When a concept is a winner, I then adjust and finalize the design based on client comments.
What do you love most about your job?
I love helping my clients unearth their brand identity. I enjoy the challenge of taking a new business and helping to shape it's visual identity into a strong, memorable brand. When they are happy with the product I provide them with, I am happy!
