I'd been really struggling with my lower back for about 3 years and it was getting worse. Decided to take the plunge and look in to getting it sorted. I read plenty of reviews on line a decided to try Sherwood Chiropractic Clinic. It probably took the best part of 9 months and quite a few sessions but we all of a sudden hit the point where I realised that for the first time in years I was moving normally and pain free. I had a serious back injury over 30 years ago and was in hospital on traction for several weeks. After discharge I continued to be in pain and discomfort. When Oaklands opened I had a consultation and xray and since then have continued to have regular treatment. The reception staff are kind and very helpful and my treatment (which consists of acupuncture and manipulation) with Ed Morton, who is absolutely wonderful, helps me to continue to live life to the full.I wholeheartedly recommend them! I have now had 7 appointments every Thursday.Ulrik is very good and knowledgeable at his job.l am now disabled and suffer with back,neck and leg pain since my discectomies. Ulrik was giving me neck adjustments and l have been doing very well but it as flared up again. I have now got to wait until l can afford to go back and have it reajusted to eleaviate my pain.lt is a shame because l had been doing very well.Mr D.B.Finlay.Ulrik has made me a free appointment for tomorrow to try and help me as I do have underline problems and suffer with nerve damage so l am looking forward to thatand have faith he can eleaviate my pain as l am suffering. I’ve suffered with my back for years. I had a particularly bad episode recently that made it difficult to walk and left me stooped over and in agony. I can not recommend the clinic and Francois highly enough. It’s like magic. After my first visit, my mobility was significantly better. The whole place is welcoming. I came here after going round in circles with my GP. Francois has time for people. He listens and helps to explain what is going on. I have struggled with back and various other pains for around 10 years which became progressively worse, despite years of taking pain painkillers etc. It came to a head in May 2017 my back ‘went’ for a second time. I spent 4 days hardly able to walk – again! Enough was enough I was willing to try anything as I couldn’t go on like this, it wasn’t fair on me, my young boys or husband.I was highly recommended Oakland’s Chiropractic clinic by 2 independent friends.Warm, friendly atmosphere the reception staff are lovely.I met Ulrik, we talked about my back pain and any other pains I had. I felt reluctant and a little embarrassed at first as I had so many other daily pains (hip, pelvis, rib, shoulder), It never occurred to me they could all be linked!To my relief Ulrik said he was confident he could help me, and came up with a plan in which he talked me through in depth so I understood and I’m still working towards. After months of intense sessions I now go 6 weeks between visits.Let’s just say the rest is history! I can now do the things I love, playing with my children without watching from the sidelines, run for 30 mins pain free during and after (which I never thought would happen again), light kettlebell workouts and the most basic task getting out of bed – PAIN FREE!!.My 6 year old boy summed it up when he said to me “mummy is the chiropractor like a superhero”........ Since my first visit to Ulrik (over 10 years ago) recommended by my GP, I've been so impressed by the various treatments I've had. I had an old rugby neck injury - sorted. Then back problems - sorted. Some 20 years ago I developed back pain which gradually worsened without treatment. The discomfort was initially in my left foot(! ) so going to see my GP was a waste of time as he didn’t know what it was. He told me to buy a new pair of shoes! The pain became more acute as it manifested itself in my left leg and lower back, and I reached the pain barrier when I could no longer sit down. I would use my garden kneeler at my work desk and at the dinner table in preference to a chair. Sneezing was a nightmare as the pain would ricochet through my body to the point of collapse.Fortunately I had a work colleague who told me about the Chiropractic Clinic which truly was my salvation. The journey there for my first appointment was agony as I had to kneel on my seat in the car as my wife drove – I simply couldn’t sit down. Initially I needed 2 treatments a week but these very soon became weekly as my back improved and the pain diminished, then monthly until there were longer intervals between treatments.I now visit my chiropractor for a regular maintenance treatment every 3 months. (It’s just like having a regular check-up at the dentist’s or optician’s.) I am completely pain free, and have been so since I started to have chiropractic treatment all those years ago. Being able to do what I like has a huge impact on my mood and sense of well-being whether I am gardening , working on my allotment or walking. What an amazing experience! From the reception staff through to the clinical staff, nothing is too much trouble. This place has literally changed my life. Following a back injury and serious damage which was missed by other professionals, Dave Strutt not only got me moving again but also immediately identified the underlying problem and got me straight into the correct treatment pathway. In under 6 months I'd had scans, consultations, pre op, op, post op and a full recovery all overseen by Dave. Although my case was unusual it highlights even more so just how skilled he is! The team at the Sheffield Clinic has treated all our family over the course of about 15 years and we couldn't recommend it highly enough. Not only are the chiropractors brilliant, knowledgeable and empathetic, but the admin staff are friendly, caring and will go out of their way to try to find convenient appointments and get you seen even if it is not with your regular chiropractor (it makes no difference as they are all great). My husband's lower back pain was crippling at one point and he couldn't work; Jo identified and treated a bulging disc and he has since been able to manage and reduce his problems 90% of the time - the other 10% is due to lifestyle which can't be helped! Dave worked out that my elder daughter's problems with her knees during swimming training, were in fact being caused by issues in other areas. She now has a regular exercise plan that is helping to reduce her knee pain and strengthen the correct muscles. I have always struggled with migraines and headaches due to tight/sore back/neck muscles and whenever I feel "jammed up" I book in to see mainly Paul Q and Paul W and that does the trick. The main reason for writing the review is the exceptional treatment we receive for my youngest daughter (age 11) who suffers from Joint Hypermobility Syndrome, which causes her chronic pain (mainly in her back, neck and legs), fatigue and muscle spasm. Paul Q and Paul W have been brilliant with her - we brought her a couple of years ago before she had a proper diagnosis for her condition. They have always been kind, friendly, reassuring and clearly explained her treatment to her in simple terms, which helps her feel calm and positive about coming. We bring her regularly to help manage her pain levels and improve her quality of life. It is a shame the NHS can't offer this sort of treatment to other children with this condition; I don't know where we would be without this help. Big thanks to everyone here. More...

I have been a patient at the Sheffield Chiropractic Clinic for many years now. I now attend mostly for proactive management of (mostly) upper back & neck problems and (mostly) this is sports massage with Paul. Fortunately this keeps the worst of my stiffness and pain at bay but occasional flare-ups have been treated quickly and effectively. I have also had chiropractic treatment which I have found very useful and know that Paul would recommend it again if he felt it would be the appropriate step to take. I have been a patient at The Sheffield Chiropractic Clinic for over 25 years. Firstly with a severely spasmed back which Ulrik sorted out. But then regular maintenance ever since. I go every 4 months or so for some preventive treatment which helps stave off back pains. The clinic is well appointed and is friendly and welcoming.
