We love Manor lodge. There are reasonably priced kids crafts on in the holidays and gardens and ruins to explore. There’s a sandpit and games set up and lots of space for picnics and running around. Late spring and early summer sees the wildflower meadows surrounding it looking beautiful and there are other climbing frames and slides nearby for even more entertainment for the kids. A short walk away is the fantastic Rhubarb shed cafe and a farm, making for a fun and good value family day out More...

One of the few reminders of pre industrial Sheffield when cutlery was being made on a small scale and park hill was an actual park

We had the best day ever for our wedding at the turret house and the new reception venue, just down the road, it is absolutely beautiful. Chaneice in particular went above and beyond with correspondence to put my mine at ease and answer my ridiculous questions throughout. The fact that the venue is all diy also meant we could do everything just how we wanted from the decor to the food to the entertainment - amazing venue! More...

like coming here but today I visited re-enactment day with my family and we thought the prices were a bit over the top for what was there ! It cost £15 for 2 adults & a child and then an extra £2 each to go in the turret house which we thought should have been in the entry fee More...

We have just had the best day of our lives at this outstanding wedding venue. The sun was shining and we couldn’t have asked for a better backdrop - we were in exceptionally good hands with Chanice who was a calming influence and extremely professional throughout from the day we booked to the wedding day itself. We were also very impressed with Al who was running the bar and couldn’t do enough for us. The new reception venue was fantastic and the hay bails and fire pit were the crowing touch. Thoroughly recommended. More...

The ' Mary, Queen of Scots' day was interesting - but very busy! It would have been useful to have 'timed' slots for the tour - as too many people to accommodate in an historic house.

We love walking around here. Can't figure out quite when the visitors centre is open but we've managed to attend a couple of craft sessions there which were horrendously chaotic and not at all organised. We won't be going to any more. The grounds are lovely though and it's great to be able to walk amongst our history. More...

A great place to spend a long afternoon! I think this place has brilliant guides who offer a great insight in to an interesting and little known part of Sheffield history! I also enjoy sitting in the cafe and just chatting and relaxing for a while with friends. The staff and volunteers do a great job of keeping this part of Sheffield's history alive and this should be more widely supported and encouraged! Will definitely be telling more people about it!
