Beautiful location with lovely views of the bay from common access balconies. Nice to have a lounge downstairs in the evening. There is no staff present overnight but there is a phone number provided if you need to contact someone. There was a damp towel hanging on the back of the bathroom door and large half full bottles of shampoo/conditioner in the shower stall. It appeared they had been left behind by the previous occupant so while the sink, toilet and shower were clean and dry, hard to say how thoroughly cleaned the bathroom was between guests. Our bedding was clean and crisp. Staff member was friendly upon check in then completely disappeared so when we needed to ask for more towels (there were 4 of us and only 3 bath sized towels provided), it was the gentleman behind the bar that helped us. I've only been to this restaurant once but I wanted to write a good review to displace some of the unfair and occasionally ludicrous negative ratings Shari's has gotten. We were met by a host as soon as we walked in, and the waiter was friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. My wife got the chicken and I got the spare ribs, and both were absolutely delicious. I can tell you right now that my wife only orders chicken at restaurants, no matter what restaurant that it is, and she said this was one of the top 5 she's ever had. Sure, it's a bit on the pricey side but 1st of all it's kosher which raises the price, and 2nd of all you're paying for a beautiful view over the Bay in a gorgeous historic tavern. Service and food were both great and if I had one complaint, the music was a bit noisy, but the patrons at the bar seemed to be enjoying it so who am I to complain?Note that being a kosher restaurant means no dairy or shellfish, so don't be disappointed if your onion soup doesn't have cheese on it. When the restaurant became Shari's this winter it was closed for renovation. I was amazed at how perfectly the dining room had been refreshed. It is immaculate and has the air of a REAL 5 star. The million-dollar view of the marina has not changed either.The food has been excellent , and I have been there several times. Â The cheeseburger is amazing. The steaks are amazing. I was so impressed  by this place !!  We went in with very low expectations for 2 reasons : 1) the negative reviews & 2) it was 1 of the only places with last minute reservations available on a Saturday night in August . Stay at this paradise & skip lodging in Atlantic City or Ocean City!!! ||So happy to have stumbled across Tavern on the Bay when searching for a pet friendly hotel near Atlantic City and now my boyfriend and I are planning our next trip to the Shore JUST to stay at Tavern on the Bay again! Best indicator of the quality of a restaurant is to see how they handle themselves when things go poorly. Our visit started off poorly when we were seated at a hightop table in the bar area. As we were there for our anniversary and not for the DJ we we're getting ready to leave when a staff member stoped us and asked why. When we told her, she quickly found us another table in a quieter section. Another 15 minutes went by without anyone coming by when the original staff member came by again to check on us. When we told her no one had been by, sdje took our drink order and promised to get someone overr ASAP. We could see her stopping other wait staff and questioning them. About 5 minutes later our waitress came up and said no one told her we were seated. After we ordered, the manager came over and personally apologised for the delays and offered to buy us a drink on him by way of apology. The rest of our meal was uneventful. The seafood was delicious and presented beautifully. My wife's pasta was equally excellent. Our waitress didn't stop by often, but the original staff member and tther manager did so we never felt ignored. The manager, after finding out it was our anniversary, insisted we have a desert on the house. It was excellent also. After a few missteps the staff more than made up for it and my wife and I enjoyed our visit very much. More...

We had dinner at this legendary eatery with an amazing view the other night. Try the salmon and have a drink at bar. It is one of the hidden "premier" summer restaurants at the shore and definitely worth the trip over the bridge.
