Had lunch today with 3 friends this afternoon at our favorite local treasure. It was 2:15pm when we arrived and even though the restaurant was closed at 3:00pm after lunch until the 5:00pm dinner hour service, we were warmly welcomed and never once made to feel rushed (I even got "locked in" ; -)).The service was very personable, both by our server Ursala? and Shanna. I had dinner at Pitcher's Place last night for the first time and it was top notch. The space is small but the food packs a big punch in flavour! Shanna and Allan helped me plan my moms surprise birthday party for 17 people, everything was perfect. They were super accommodating and easy to work with, the food was amazing (it always is) and we had a fabulous time! I have made my first of what will be many future visits to this establishment last night. I do try to shop locally and since I live close to the restaurant I gave it a go. The food was fantastic the atmosphere amazing Allan and Shanna are friendly and informative on what they offer. My husband and I both follow Pitchers Place on Facebook and just happened to see their burgers posted this past week. We decided to head up for lunch on Saturday and it was truly the best burger we had ever eaten! !!! Right down to a homemade tomatoe jam. Yummy. And did I mention, I had to try a cinnamon bun as well? No disappointments in this restaurant at all. Sean and Shanna, the owners and chefs, are so hospitable and friendly. WE love Pitchers Place. The food is awesome, unique, wholesome, and very local. It's always a pleasure and worth the drive from Cobourg for us. Great dessert and drink menus and plenty of great craft beers available. Such a refreshing option in an age of chain restaurants serving up rubbery food that was taken out of a plastic bag and warmed up. These guys do it right. Their food is (better than) homemade.
