Jenny is truly a Dog Whisperer! I am so pleased with the progress my 2 dogs have made in just a few sessions. My husband says, it has changed the dogs! Seventh Heaven has been fantastic to work with! Since August, Jenny has made 6 in-house visits to work with our dogs Tank and Moe. In the past couple months we have seen positive progress, especially with our miniature Dachshund Moe. I am SO glad I hired Jenny to provide dog-walking services for my Norwegian Elkhound, Dexter! He adores her; whenever I tell him she's on her way, he runs in circles and then runs to the front door excitedly. Jenny has been very flexible regarding walk times, which is a blessing when my work schedule fluctuates so much. And just as a person, Jenny is FABULOUS. What do you love most about your job?
My favorite part of the Pet Care business is getting to know pets and their families. It is so rewarding to be able to work with Owners to find the best solutions for their pets and share the knowledge that my team members and myself have accrued over our time working with animals. It is also great to be able to spend my days outdoors and to have the opportunity to learn more about the many kinds of pets that we care for. I am currently working on my certification to become a dog trainer through an online training academy with the goal of eventually going to an on site training program to learn more and to add training service animals to my resume.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I started my own home daycare when I moved back from Southern California with my two young sons. I had worked in child care throughout High School and College and did not want to leave my children with anyone else. I ran a successful home Daycare for 10 years including working with children with Autism and other challenges. When I started my Pet Sitting business, I was ready for a change. I had owned all manner of pets throughout my life and love them. I worked part-time for another local company owned by a friend of mine for about a year to learn the ropes, took training classes to learn about birds andcourses like Pet First Aid, and then tranisitioned to Pet Care. It has been a great decision for me!

We use an online portal so that Clients can communicate with their Pet Care Specialist Team, track and schedule services, review and pay invoices, keep your pet's information up to date, and more. We are committed to going the extra mile for our Clients and to being a solid resource for information and advice. Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.
While we can certainly give remote advice, our care is always in person. Many people come to me to ask if we can board their pets. This is a service that we do not offer as the business is based in Fairfax County and in order to board pets for money, one must have a Kennel License, which is very difficult to obtain and not something that I, or any of our Pet Care Specialists have. For those same reasons, we do not provide Doggie Daycare. Since either activity would count as an unlicensed service, our Pet Sitting Insurance would not cover anything that might happen for which we could be held liable.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
Please feel free to check our website for specific information regarding the menu of options to keep you and our Pet Care Specialists safe from Covid-19. These guidelines were developed with the help of staff at a local nursing home that we provide dog walking and pet care services for and include masking, carrying hand sanitizer on our person, use of hand sanitizer before and after visits, as well as frequent hand washing and the option to use the Pet Care Specialists leash in order to avoid any contamination through the leash.
Pet Sitting
Our Pet Care Specialists are Professional, Background Checked, Bonded, and Insured. They will care for your pets in your home, where your pets will be most comfortable and least stressed. We can care for all types of animals and offer visits in increments from 20 minutes to 1 .5 hours. We also offer extended visits (I once covered a Clients pet in their hotel room as they had a medical emergency when they came to town and the dog needed constant supervision. I cared for the dog until she was able to leave the hospital.)
Dog Walking
We offer regularly scheduled dog walks and on-demand dog walks. Our Professional dog walkers can be matched with your needs and walks range from 20 minutes to 1.5 hours for pups who really need to get some energy out! We have worked with all types of dogs, including dogs that are leash reactive and have anxiety issues.
Cage Cleaning/ Maintenance
This service is primarily for bird Owners. Seventh Heaven Pet Care Services can do weekly or deep cleaning for all sizes of bird cages.
Assisted Living Pet Care
Our Pet Care Specialists have experience with going into Assisted Living or in-home care situations to take care of pets and keep the family informed as to how their loved one is doing. We can also take care of making sure that pets have transportation to veterinary care and can help with rehoming pets in end-of-life situations. We have worked with Clients who are memory impaired as well as physically impaired and understand the unique demands of this situation both in terms of reliability of service and the emotional demands of this work.
Backyard Wildlife or Farm Care
We have Pet Care Specialists that can help with keeping your backyard wildlife habitats with bird feeders and other wildlife care or backyard farm going while you are away. From watering plants to filling bird feeders or taking care of the chicken coop and garden, we can make sure that you can leave town and know that your spaces are in good hands.
Pet Transporatation
Seventh Heaven Pet Care can provide transportation to the vet, Groomer, or any other appointment that they may have.
Dog Training Services in NOVA and Richmond!

We offer Fear and Force Free Training with Positive Training methods used exclusively so that you do not break the bond with your dog. We also strive to teach you how to teach your dog. We want you to be able to teach your dog for a lifetime and give you the basic skills and understanding to become your dog's best friend and trainer!!

We offer the following training options:
* Private In-Home Dog Training in both the Richmond, VA area and Northern Virginia. In home training in Richmond is available on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
*On-Site Dog Training at our Great Falls, VA location. We are in the process of securing a training center location in the Richmond area. More information to come.
*Small group classes at our Great Falls, VA location. These classes include: Puppy Class, Foundations (for older puppies), Basic Manner and Intermediate Manners.
*We offer help with Reactivity Training, working with Fearful dogs, Leash Walking, Puppy Training and Basic Manners Training. We have worked with many clients to resolve on and off leash reactivity, whether the dog is over excited, frustrated, or fearful! This is available In-Home and on site at the Great Falls Training Center.
