Session 73

This is a fun, chill bar on the UES. Came here a few Saturday's ago to celebrate a friends birthday. There is a separate bar/room off the main area in the back we we were able to sit and hang out for a while which was nice since we could chat. Then we went to the front/main area because a live band came out and there were really good. A youngish crowd was there id say 21-26 and it got pretty crowded. Fun time, deff recommend! More...

This bar is the place to be not only on Fridays but any day of the week. The staff is warm and welcoming regardless if you're a regular or new in town. If you want live music and awesome bartenders setting the rock vibes,  this is a must hit while in Manhattan.  The guys are hot and the girls are beautiful.  With 20 years of live music and acts this is the go to spot with my girls for cover bands, acoustic open mic on Sundays and even Salsa Monday's after winding down from a active weekend.  Half off drinks, Jameson, Tito's and shot and beer and $3 dollar Bud and Bud Lite specials are perfect to save money for happy hours and listen to some tunes on the weekdays as well.  Food is great and simple, tacos always hit the spot.  Order the wings and you will leave satisfied. Sessions 73 is the best place in the UES to go out on a Friday or Saturday night. Tom at the bar is awesome and always can make drinks quickly even when it gets super busy and crowded. My friends and I are regulars and he always remembers us and will make conversation and ask how were doing so hes great to talk to. We love sessions (and their well priced drinks!!! nothing worse than a $15 cocktail like the other UES bars!!) and keep coming back and bringing all our friends who also love it. I like that they have a salsa night on Monday with a free lesson, and it's a good chill bar and crowded on the weekends. In past years, I went here for New Years, and Halloween and both were crowded and fun. The review below about the person with a salt-medical issue...cheese is an extremely salty food. Even if no additional salt is added, cheddar has 174mg in 1 slice. You really can't blame the restaurant for that because they didn't add additional salt. I had a friend with a salt issue who had to cook everything at home because most foods have a lot of salt in them especially restaurant food. There are some things that are safe, but you have to research on your own and memorize what foods are ok. Just asking for no added salt is not enough. I had a groupon deal so i decided to come on a Saturday. I saw that on Saturdays the place opens at 3pm. I went at 4pm and saw that the place was empty. Only the bartender was available. I told her that i am here with a groupon deal. She told us that the place usually opens much later in the evening but she can definitely serve our food when we are ready to order. My cousin and I were seated and yes we were the only customers there that early. A few minutes later another woman came in and asked if the place was open and that she works there.  She notified us that the place usually opens around 5pm-6pm. I told her that the bartender told us that we can sit here. Long story short, the chef was available to make our meal and the waitress took our orders with a smile. She was awesome and both of the women were helpful in accommodating us.  Turns out, the place is actually a night club LOL..  The groupon does not specify that it's a night club. We ate our food which was really good. We ordered the nachos, the smokey spicy fries, the truffle pizza and the chicken sandwich. All was delicious. I am not sure is it because we were both hungry or what but we enjoyed our food.  Thanks to these two nice ladies we were able to have a nice meal at a "night club" and exit before the place started to get rowdy haha.. I pretty much only come out at night to this bar when the lovely Sara is working, she knows what I want to drink and can make it exactly how I like because I am really picky. I have seen her handle twenty people at a time and not only make all the drinks efficiently but with the prettiest smile around.
