What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
It's all about being there at that moment!!! The moment when the real magic happens. So much happens at Weddings that you just don't see as the bride and groom. That's our job, to make sure we capture everything for you.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
There are so many different types of wedding photography styles these day, so the first thing we discuss is what is 'your' style? Traditional, quirky, retro, reportage, insta, off the wall....When you are thinking about wedding photography, do your research first, create yourself a mood board of all the things you love! The angles, the poses....the props even! The more you show us, the more we can work with you to get a completely bespoke look for you.
The other thing to think about is "the group shots". This is always a photographers nightmare..."Someone bring Nanny over", "Where's the best man gone", "Did you want us in the picture too",.........If the group shots are something that you would like, then we have lots of suggestions on the best way to organise them so that you get exactly what you want as quickly as possible....so you can get back to the champers!
What do you love most about your job?
We live and breathe photography! And being privileged to share couples most special day with them is something we hold very dear. Capturing those little moments, precious smiles, fatherly winks, little darlings rolling around in the mud in their new shirt....are what makes a wedding, and we absolutely love being there to capture it. But the bit we love the most, is seeing the faces of our couples when they look at their pictures. We know ourselves how that moment feels and we want to make that moment for you as special as it was for us.
What inspired you to start your own business?
30 years in the advertising business for both of us, as an advertising photographer and creative director, led us to do something that we could do together, and bringing all of that 30years of advertising knowledge helps us not only offer photographer, but if you need help with your wedding stationary, place settings, themes, wording, gifts, or even a wedding website, we can do it all for you!
