Working as a fitness professional for 12 years, I have helped hundreds of clients achieve improved health and fitness outcomes. My evidence-based approach begins with comprehensive fitness assessments which include strength, cardiovascular conditioning, balance, and joint range of motion. This gives me the necessary information for designing safe and effective exercise programs that are appropriate for the clients’ ability, goals, and needs.
Precision Nutrition: Exercise Nutrition Coach
My fitness program also includes nutrition coaching, which helps ensure that the vigorous efforts of my clients are not squandered in the absence of a logical nutrition plan. As a Precision Nutrition: Exercise Nutrition Coach, I have the knowledge and experience to help my clients set up flexible meal plans that are scientifically valid and reasonable. The success of the plan may lead to numerous benefits such as improved body composition, higher energy levels, improved performance, faster recovery from training, improved sleep, and elevated mood.
Since becoming a certified personal trainer in 2007, I have earned several personal training certifications through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. I applied this knowledge to a very diverse clientele ranging from 10 to 86 years in age.
NASM: Corrective Exercise Specialist
As a certified Corrective Exercise Specialist, I am able to identify muscle imbalances that impede a client’s ability to perform exercises and functional activities (such as walking, running, and squatting) correctly. Moreover, these muscle imbalances may result in maladies such as lower back pain, shoulder injury, migraines, knee injury, ankle injury, and more.
After identifying muscle imbalances through movement screenings, I design corrective exercise strategies, integrating strength and flexibility training techniques, to restore optimal range of motion and functional strength. Corrective exercise is essential for injury prevention, the alleviation of joint pain, and the ability to perform exercises with proper technique.
NASM: Performance Enhancement Specialist
As a certified Performance Enhancement Specialist, I am equipped with cutting edge training, nutrition, and motivational strategies that will improve athletic performance in a variety of sports. Over the past 12 years, I had success training athletes for soccer, tennis, lacrosse, baseball, wrestling, and more.
I continue to further my health education each year to keep my knowledge up to date. Most recently, in May 2019, I earned a Bachelor of Science in Health Science at Stony Brook University, which broadened my scope of knowledge considerably, especially in regards to populations that suffer from chronic health issues like diabetes and heart disease. Additionally, I completed a two semesters of Anatomy and Physiology at Suffolk County Community college in 2018.
As a fitness professional, I take pride in leading my clients to a longterm healthy lifestyle change. I often introduce them to my favorite recreational activities: hiking, obstacle course races, and snowboarding, which gives greater meaning to their newly attained fitness levels.
