I highly recommend Serendipity for your bridal gown shopping! From the moment I stepped into the beautiful shop, I felt special and cared for. Janice greeted me and my parents, and took us on a brief tour of the place. I am a size 12 in street clothes, and I had the whole store to choose from! Jessica, Janice's daughter, was my consultant. When picking dresses, I felt like Jessica was reading my mind! She picked out styles that I loved! I tried on probably 8 dresses, and all of them were so beautiful and complimented my figure. I ended up finding my perfect dress that day, along with the most beautiful veil that was perfect for me! From the little personalized sign in my dressing room, to our champagne toast at the end of the appointment- Serendipity was an amazing experience, and I’m so thankful they made it so special! Serendipity provided a wonderful experience for me during my dress process. Even when I found out I was expecting they made it seem like it was no big deal at all. The dress was altered to make room for my growing belly and both Janice and Jessica always took the time to check to make sure the dress fit just right. For the most part I can only speak for the alterations department since that's what I came here for, but everyone I've met here has been extremely kind! I suggest coming here for a proper bridal shopping experience as their salon is GORGEOUS. My seamstress, Debbie, is THE answer to all the alteration-everythings you didn't even know existed. She is a beautiful person inside and out, with a vision that latches onto what I can only try to put into words. I'm the kind of person who needs everything to be exactly the way I have pictured in my mind, and I can breathe easy knowing Debbie just gets it. I will trust her to alter my most expensive gowns. Back in 2012 I visited the old location while shopping for a prom dress. Here in 2019 I visited looking for my wedding dress, and I found it! Beth was wonderful. I tried on a total of four dresses before finding "the one", and it wasn't even a style I thought I wanted, but one Beth suggested for me to try and I'm so glad she did! I cried, mom cried, the whole thing Personally, I was on the lower budget end of their dresses but I was surprised and happy to find there was still a wide selection available to me. We loved working with Serendipity. We used them for my wedding dress, the men's suits and our invitations. Everything was wonderful working with them. My wedding dress was perfect and it fit perfectly. The men's suits turned out great. Everyone looks really handsome. Our invitations were so beautiful. It baffles me to see so many negative reviews for this place! I have been twice and had THE most amazing experience both times. I had the same lady both times, but unfortunately I am a horrible person and don’t remember her name. My first dress shopping experience was with David’s Bridal and it was horrible and the dresses made me feel fatter than I am and ugly. Serendipity’s people and dresses made me feel like a bride and dresses felt flattering. She helped me in choosing the type of dress I liked best. She was kind, honest and patient. She would give me her honest opinion and in the sweetest way. Sadly, I did not buy because I am much too indecisive, so I flew to my home state to have loved ones with me and purchased it there. I called in because I want a belt or heaband to spice the dress up and I informed the woman on the phone I did not purchase from you but could I come in and try on things with my dress. She was so kind and said of course. I happen to get the same lady again and she helped me put on my dress with my accessories I had and tried on their belts and headbands. I found a dress online and Serendipity was listed as an official retailer on the designer's website. I called and was able to try on a sample of the dress that same evening. It was a bit late, but they were so accommodating and helpful. The price seems a bit less than what you'd find at DC/NOVA stores. I'm recommending this place to my girlfriends when they start dress shopping! They have a lot of more modern styles that I couldn’t find in Alexandria. Such a gem. More...

I purchased my wedding dress from here 3 year ago! I got engaged and married 5 mos later so finding a dress that I could either order or leave with was a must. Jen and Beth worked so hard to find me the perfect dress... it ended up being nothing like what I thought I wanted but everything that made me feel beautiful and so much more!!! The right accessories and veil made the look and as a country girl I probably wouldn't have figured that out on my own(I live in jeans and boots!) I brought my wedding dress from Serendipity Bridal and Events in 2015. I absolutely LOVED my dress. Had to have it. And to this day I still love it! !! My shopping entourage consisted of 9 bridesmaids, 2 aunts, 1 mother and 1 God-mother. With the store not being such a big place, they were very accommodating. Absolutely LOVE Jen and Janice ! Meeting with Jen, it was like she would spend all day helping me find a dress and was not in a rush. And having a toddler with my work schedule being opposite of my fiances, our son often comes to dress fitting appointments. Janice has been incredible, from grabbing his hand and walking him around her store to crawling on the floor to play trucks with him keeping him busy while they make my dress perfect. Had an absolutely amazing experience with Jen picking out my dress last week! Cannot say enough great things about the time spent looking & trying dresses and accessories on. She listened to what I wanted and surprised me with the most perfect choices that I wouldn't have even thought of! :) Definitely recommend seeing Jen for your wedding dress appointments! The experience we had yesterday at Serendipity Bridal was amazing from the moment I walked in the door I felt like OMG I am a little under dressed the shop is elegantly decorated for a bride to have that special moment of finding THE dress. I liked how Jen sat down with our bride and asked her questions the experience was phenomenal. Jen is just down to earth I loved her.
