I've only been training with Terry for a couple of months due to relocating out of Nottingham, however, despite this, he has been flexible and enthusiastic to my fitness needs and very encouraging which has kick started my fitness plan rather than putting it off until I left. He has been thorough and methodical in what I wanted to achieve and how best to do this keeping the sessions varied so that I did not get bored. Not only was he motivating during the sessions, I also had support online in between to keep me focused. I did the 20 minute HIIT sessions due to time constraints but felt great for doing something and would throughly recommend Selfitness. If I were not leaving, I would definitely be carrying on! I've been training with Terry in 2-2-1 sessions for around 1 month, as I had got stuck in a bit of a fitness rut and needed some inspiration to get me going again.
Terry's positivity and energy is contagious and really makes you enjoy every work out you do.
Every workout is different, so it keeps you on your toes and means every session is interesting.
He's a lovely guy, really positive and motivating and the sessions are great value for money. Couldn't recommend him any higher!

I have been training with Terry for just over three months now and have been having weekly HIIT sessions. His positive outlook and variety in the sessions have helped me get fitter, stronger and loose over a stone in weight, but most importantly he’s helped me increase my confidence massively. In my first session with Terry I told him how much I hated running and couldn’t do it but now I’m going out on my own for runs around the park. I still have a long way to go but he’s helped push me further than I thought I’d be able to. As well as the 1-2-1 sessions and 2-2-1 sessions with Terry he also contacts me in the week to check how I’m getting on with training. How do you help your clients achieve their fitness goals?
SELFitness helps clients by listening to the clients goals, by understanding the clients concerns, and by appreciating clients busy schedules. That’s why at SELFitness I offer flexible training options to suit everyone. My Personal Training sessions start at 20 min sessions and work their way up to 40 and 60 min sessions. If you think that you don’t have time to exercise, speak to me and we’ll find a way!
What’s the secret to getting the body of your dreams?
There is no secret. There is no magic pill. There aren’t any magic shakes. It’s about me working closely with my clients and being honest. It’s going to take hard work and dedication, but together we can get you where you want to be. My clients understand that it’s not going to happen overnight. We don’t make promises. Every body reacts differently to different types of exercise. I will find the training styles that most suit your body type for your goals
What do you love most about your job?
SELFitness has a passion for fitness. I love to be training our clients all day long. The greatest part is the elation on my clients face every time they lose 2ib, or when their Christmas dress fits just right, or when the shirt top button can now fasten. I actually feel the achievement and excitement as much as the client!
What inspired you to start your own business?
SELFitness Personal Training was started because I wanted control. I wanted to lift all of the restrictions of a gym and do what’s best for the client. I wanted to train in the clients garden, or in the local park, or meet them at their workplace and have a session in the car park. I want to be as flexible as I possibly can to make the experience enjoyable for the clients. I don’t want to come away from a session to sign a gym member in, or see to a delivery, or look at a faulty piece of equipment. My session time is for total dedication to the client.
