I just recently did a Milkyway and night sky workshop with Sean. He was very professional, down to earth and with a lot of knowledge. Sean’s workshop was super educational and very well structured -going from an introductory presentation to warm you up, to the field and then to post processing. He’s super easy to get along and is truly knowledgeable! Always open to questions and makes you feel very comfortable! He tends to everyone in the group patiently! I cannot possibly fully describe in words how incredible Sean’s Iceland workshop was this past November 2018, and how amazing Sean was to coordinate EVERYTHING and make this happen for me. I had been planning on his Iceland workshop for well over a year. When things didn’t turn out for a group trip, he recommended a private client workshop. Sold! I learned so much in the 11 days of his workshop; the importance of lighting (sunrise, sunset), thinking outside the box to get remarkable angles that I didn’t think were humanly possible but Sean showed me how. I learned how much really goes into getting the beautiful photos that I admire so much. Sean was remarkable at navigating the diverse landscape of Iceland, the weather and picturesque locations. One night there was a strong Aurora storm and Sean didn’t give up until we were able to find clear skies, see and photograph the Aurora, and then in our down time, we did classroom editing. Sean also gently encouraged me to step outside my comfort zone - to climb to the top of the waterfall and get a better shot. I’m so thankful I let him talk me into that. If you’ve been thinking of taking his workshop – you should make it happen. You won’t regret it. Below is a post that I wrote to my friends and family and I believe it describes (to the best of my ability in words) the sum of this magnificent, incredible and unforgettable journey/workshop. ”Hello, Friends and Family. Tonight is my last night in Iceland. This adventure has been such a soulful, spiritual, and rewarding journey and by Sean’s design challenged me beyond even what I “thought" I could handle. ⠀ I'm tired and every muscle in my body aches, my face is windburned, we've hiked well over 30 or 40 miles (all up hills of course). We've driven over 2,500 miles across the West coast peninsula and all over the South coast - basically, we covered half of Iceland in search of nature’s beauty to capture on camera. ⠀ We've been up shooting sunrise, and out late, shooting the sunset, and then there were the near all-nighters shooting the Aurora (4 nights of them) and get up and do it all over again the next day. ⠀ We've stood out in some of the strongest winds and wettest rain I've ever experienced, and driven on narrow snowy roads up and over a summit, drove around a magnificent lava field, stood behind waterfalls and got soaked, and walked alongside the angriest ocean I've ever seen. We listened to the best music and saw some of the most beautiful and diverse landscape I've ever seen. I will take back with me, more than just the memories of this beautiful country Iceland and the new friend I made. I will take back my treasured photos and I will know how incredibly hard I worked (physically and mentally) to capture each and every one of these photos. ⠀ Thank you Sean for making this all happen and thank you most of all for encouraging me to step beyond my comfort zone and helping me grow.” More...

A friend who was mesmerized by Sean's night photography alerted me to an upcoming workshop on Mount Lemmon. So close to where I live, how could I resist! Sean was easy-going and accomodating. Patient with instruction and easy to understand. The format of his one night workshop was ideal for introducing a variety of night photography techniques including star trails, single image captures, and panoramas - with some fun portraits tossed in. His follow-up materials with tutorials, videos, and links covering post-processing as well as capture are super helpful, as is his Facebook closed group 'for workshop participants only'.
