This is a place to visit when you need to get away from everything. The beach walks and trees are fantastic. It is a basic accommodation, so there was difficulty with tv, blow dryer and temperature control. The breakfast is meat, eggs, beans and grains, so for special dietary accommodation, you must bring your own food. There is a microwave. We stayed over at Sea Otters Lodge during a convention weekend and enjoyed a beautiful double room with en suite bathroom and a gorgeous view of the sea. Our only regret was that we couldn't spend more time at Sea Otters enjoying the beauty and quietness of the area. We arrived later in the evening and Pierre kindly made sure of our whereabouts and contacted the Lodge to let them know when we would get there. On arrival at 7.30pm we were met by Miriam who very kindly and capably showed us the facilities, helping us know where everything was and how we should access the property. The bed was very comfortable, linen was pure cotton with a high threadcount so very pleasant to sleep in and the room was serviced every day by Miriam so it was like coming into a new room every day. This venue offers comfort and affordability. The location is right on the beach with peaceful surrounds. The little bay right infront of the venue is private with an appeal of a large rock pool. Closer to the sea you will probably not find. What a beautiful setting to have when you look out of your room window. All rooms are sea facing with a beautiful view of the ocean and beach. I stay here when I am on business in Port Elizabeth and it almost feel that I am on holiday. It is peaceful , and the sound of the waves that put you to sleep and not to mention the fresh sea breeze in the mornings. Sea Otters Lodge is about 15-20 minutes drive outside Port Elizabeth in a small town called Kini Bay.||The lodge has two levels with rooms on both levels. Each level has it's own communal lounge, dining and kitchen area. The kitchen has a fridge and microwave and crockery and cutlery to use if you want to prepare your own meals. There is a SPAR, Bottle store and Pharmacy in the next town called Seaview about 5 minutes drive. There is also a couple of restaurants in the area that you can try out if you do not want to prepare your own meal. Breakfast is served in the morning and very enjoyable to eat and look at the ocean on your doorstep. The friendly owners and staff always make you feel at home. The rooms are very comfortable with nice beds, coffee station, TV with satellite channels. Bathrooms are small but have everything you need. There is ample secure parking for vehicles and trailers. This lodge is ideal for business, holidays or just a stopover. I will be back again!! More...

What a wonderful experience! The superb hospitality, the very comfortable accommodation, the outstanding cusine and attention to detail. ......can one say more? Excellent. I also stayed on the nights of the 30th June, 1st and 2nd July. I only ever had breakfast there but these were superb. Other meals could have been arranged if required. Felt slightly uncomfortable that rooms couldn't be locked as you left, but each room had its own alarm for extra security and hotel security generally was top notch. For me this was not a major issue as at this time of the year, there were few other guests. At the height of the season with the hotel full of other guests, I'd be less comfortable relying on the alarms. More...

Excellent service rendered in the friendliest and most accommodating manner. Well equipped beautifully appointed room. A more stunning view of the sea would be hard to find. Perfect location.....a few seconds walk to the sandy white beach and its lovely rock pools. This was just what we were looking for. Our room was very comfortable, onto a lovely huge patio and straight onto the beach. Breakfasts were yummy and Christmas dinner was outstanding. The staff were really great and nothing was too much trouble. We made the most of each day and traveled the area. PE is a short distance away so there are plenty of restaurants to chose from and also a local restaurant called Barnacles that serves outstanding seafood if you're not up to a 10/15 minute drive to PE.
