Sherree has been absolutely amazing. We joined the puppy class and novice trick class my puppy loved it. She has also helped us with walking our pup and it's been a great help. Thank you for all great tips and tricks Sherree we have really appreciated it! More...

We contacted Sheree when we first brought our pup home at 8 weeks as we’d struggled initially with crate training, biting, and toileting. Sheree did a wonderful job reassuring us and giving us loads of tips and training tricks to get us through the first initial weeks. We then progressed to puppy classes, and most recently our novice trick training which our pup absolutely loves. Sheree’s ongoing guidance helped no end, I truly can’t thank her enough. We now have a wonderfully behaved and friendly pup who’s about to turn 1 and is an absolute joy. We truly believe this is because of Sheree’s tuition. More...

Sherree is what can only be described as a glorified dog walker. She has no idea when it comes to training certain breeds of dogs or dogs with behaviour problems like she claims. Will talk down to the people who have hired her as if she's better than them and they have no idea what they're doing. Would not recommend. Funny how it takes you saying to her you have no interest in her coming back for her to admit she had no idea how to help your dog; but from that it's clear she's happy to take people's money even if not qualified for the job at hand. Has been seen training a dog that's no good with other dogs in a busy walking area and been rude to the dog walkers as they've gone past. Huge red flag, she owns a dog who isn't good with other dogs so can't even train her own. Avoid at all costs. More...

Our golden retriever puppy joined the puppy class. We struggled a bit with recall and when there were other dogs around- as he would just want to play, and didn't listen at all.
After six weeks with Sherree, he's now walking nicely on leash and off it too. Recalls are a lot better even when there are other dogs in the area! We are so happy with the result.
Best part is, as he is a retriever, he loves having stuff in his mouth and sometimes eating stuff he shouldn't. Sherree showed us a great trick and he is now dropping things he shouldn't munch and comes running back to us instead. Having a puppy is so much love, but in the beginning it can be overwhelming and we feel with the training and the tips we've learned have helped us so much that he is now just pure joy.

Q&As

Obviously I LOVE having a class full of baby puppies of all shapes and sizes! Such fun.

However, I get most satisfaction from helping people who are having a problem with their dog, as it can be very stressful for everyone at these times. Sometimes these problems are relatively easy, for example getting the dog to come back when called, other times the problem can be long term and challenging, such as being reactive around other dogs . I love helping people find really practical solutions so that they can understand better how to support their dog. They can then begin to relax and enjoy being with their dog again- so everyone has a happier time.

I had been working as a dog trainer for many years, both with a Hampshire training school and a national assistance dog charity, when I decided what I really wanted to do is focus on helping urban dogs. Living in cities can be tough for dogs. I realised my skills and experience could be best used working in the environment I know and love- the city! I set up Sea City Dogs in 2019 and am so happy I did.

I am very practical. I don’t tend to teach anything that I don’t think is actually useful in the real world. My own dogs will never win any prizes at Crufts for their ‘obedience’ but they are happy, calm dogs that can go anywhere with me and are a joy to live with...I think that’s what most people are really looking for.
