Honestly incredible! From day one I felt I had not just a trainer but a great friend. Really nice and welcoming guy who doesn’t care how big or small your goals are, he’ll get you there. He’s never once laughed or been critical of my poor form or technique once first trying new exercises. He is only ever supportive and helped me discover my true potential and strengths in sporting aspects I didn’t even know existed.
I started training with Richard at the start of last summer and within a month of his sessions as well as following a personal training program he made for me in his own time, I’d gone from a very temperamental knee after surgery to smashing my PB’s on the track. Now leading up to my 18th Birthday, he has helped me receive a selection to represent Cardiff in the London Marathon. I’m extremely confident that with his help I’ll complete it in under 3hours for my first ever marathon which would be mind blowing for any athlete, nevermind a very very mediocre levelled athlete like myself. Or at least I was before I began with Richard. I honestly can’t give enough praise to him. I’d recommend him to anyone no mater their goal or level. His expertise are next to none, he is fully qualified in all areas of the field and leads by example to stay fit and inspire others. For example, he takes part in countless triathlons throughout the year as well as organising charity fundraisers such as boxing events and more. To demonstrate the sheer class of the man and his success, the footballing legend Pele himself has only ever visited Wales once in his life, last June, and it was to visit the gym Richard owns for a Q&A session. If you don’t believe me, have a google and prepare to be proven wrong. I can’t say much more without rambling on but if you or a friend are looking for motivation and help to reach your fitness goals, no matter if you’re a 30st couch potato with countless health problems or an elite athlete looking for those extra margins of success, Richard will find the most safe, healthy, and efficient way to help you reach them. I’d bet my life on it, 100%!

Richard is an outstanding one on one personal trainer. He is tough but fair and motivating. I was very nervous at first ad I did not know what to expect but he has given me confidence. If you are thinking of engaging a personal trainer then I definately recommend Sculpture Fitness!

Richard of Sculpture fitness worked with my son to improve and develop his fitness prior to joining the military. This is a brilliant gym with a no nonsense approach supplying all the equipment that you could possibly require for a full on training regime. The 2 large rooms primarily for kick boxing are available to be used by anyone which is a great advantage having such a large space for indoor training.
This is a gym that is perfect for the person who wants to train hard and avoid the pretentious gym attitude that seems to be the culture in most modern gyms. UFC gets back to the basics and pulls them off fantastically, along with a welcoming atmosphere and helpful owners, Denzil and Spiro, it creates a brilliant training area .

How important is a healthy diet to someone’s health and wellbeing?

A healthy diet is crucial to health and wellbeing, regardless of whether or not you are looking to increase fitness. The old adage rings true "you are what you eat". If you eat unhealthily then you will be unhealthy. A balanced diet is not something which is difficult to introduce to your lifestyle. All you need is to be shown what a balanced diet constitutes and once you have that knowledge then you can integrate it into your everyday life. I can show you and teach you how to eat well and still enjoy what you eat. It's not that hard, honest.

How do you help your clients achieve their fitness goals?

I set training programmes with my clients based on their needs and their time constraints and work effectively with them, training on a regular basis to attain those goals. I work with them in all areas of health and fitness including diet, lifestyle and training, and I use regular fitness and biometric tests to show my clients how they are progressing towards their goals.
I also specialise in several sports, and can help clients to improve their strength and conditioning for any sport by using specific training, focusing on weak spots and correction of technique. I am not a trainer who will just put a client on a machine and leave them to it, I will be there for every rep and will adapt and evolve exercise programmes as my clients fitness improves. I provide expert advice and training techniques to allow my clients to maximise their potential.
I supply all of my clients with a healthy eating guide along with support throughout their training.

What’s the secret to getting the body of your dreams?

The real secret is diet combined with effective, motivated exercise. You also need to know how your body works and responds to different types of exercise and how this can be adapted to work for you. There is no point in just jogging on a treadmill to lose weight if this is something which you have tried but to no avail. It is important to understand how to use different exercise techniques in order to keep surprising your body into transformation. Without the motivation and the knowledge to attain this level of training you will just plateau or see no improvement at all. Train smart, not just hard.

What do you love most about your job?

I love seeing my clients not only achieve their results but to smash through them, and maintain them. I love to educate my clients in a way that they understand training and the importance of keeping going. I love seeing clients years later who have kept up with training and taken my knowledge on board, allowing them to control their own fitness levels independently and successfully.

What inspired you to start your own business?

I have always dreamed of owning my own business that helps people lives their lives better. I love sport and fitness so I decided that the best business for me to go into was the fitness industry. It was a simple choice really, help others enjoy what I do and create a healthier lifestyle along the way.

Why should our clients choose you?

I give all of my clients the results they desire, quicker than expected.
All of my clients, both former and current have been hugely impressed with the results that I give them, but most importantly they love the fact that I give them the ability to control their own fitness levels after they stop training with me.
If you already participate in a sport and want to improve on your current techniques and fitness levels I provide the knowledge and correct training to increase your strength and conditioning in any sport.

One to one and two to one professional training from one of Cardiff's top PTs. Each training regime is fully tailored to your own needs and carried out under the full supervision of myself, with any additional support you require. I have had nothing but success regardless of my clients' needs, whether it be weight loss, muscle building, injury support, fitness increases or any thing else. I am a running, swimming and boxing coach too, so I can use various platforms to get the results you want, without just simply putting you on a treadmill or a bench press. I believe in PERSONAL training, not just training.

Sports Specific Training

No matter what sport you are involved in I can help you improve by using targeted training specific to your body's requirements. I have had many clients from different sports want to improve their technique or increase their strength and conditioning outside of the normal training routine they use. Some have even approached me because they have never been 'taught' how to run and have developed a poor technique. I use my expertise and knowledge of the human body to retrain my clients and add strength to areas which they are finding problems. From runners, swimmers, boxers, rugby players and even a roller derby referee, I have had great success in improving all techniques and strength. No matter what sport you are involved in, or would like to be involved in, I can improve you.
