Prior to our wedding night Columbus Day Weekend in the Catskills, my husband and I spend a good amount of time going adding music to the Music Match System, and in a prep call with DJ, he made sure to understand all of our choices and our desired flow for the night. Come wedding day, DJ Revuleo was the perfect party starter, and he kept it going all night long! We decided to kick things off with dancing right away (vs. wait until after dinner), and it was the best decision. We had so many people complain that their food was cold, because they were too busy dancing to stop and eat, ha! While I was looking for our wedding DJ, I was overwhelmed because almost
all the reviews on WeddingWire for DJs were 5 stars so it was hard to
narrow down my search. But I picked Scratch because after looking on their
site I saw that their DJs had legit experience outside of weddings and that
made me think they must be good DJs. One we booked them, Scratch had us
fill out a music profile online which was super easy and fun to do. They
had clips of tons of music and we picked what we wanted played during the
ceremony, cocktail hour etc. (including must-plays). We were matched up
with DJ Lady FX and she was SO AWESOME. Everyone danced from the second she started spinning till the end of the night. She helped MC the whole night and kept the flow of events going smoothly. We loved working with Scratch Weddings. My husband and I have unique music tastes and were very particular about what we wanted at our wedding. Scratch works with tons of DJs and they match you with a DJ who suits your music taste and needs. And, the best part is that they use an online platform where you can search for songs and create your playlist by time/event (first dance, bouquet toss, general dancing, etc). The program was easy to use and made us feel very in control over our music. We were matched with DJ Sadhu and he was awesome. He checked in with us before the wedding and arrived several hours early to set up. He followed our playlist to a tee, but was also flexible when I made some last minute requests during the reception. DJ Vida was one of the biggest highlights of our wedding! Our guests were raving about her throughout our reception. People kept saying to us: your DJ is amazing! ! Even in the days after the wedding, we were getting messages asking if we could get her playlist! She definitely kept the dance floor going all night, which was exactly what we wanted. We also found that it was easy to coordinate and communicate our song preferences. The nice thing about going with a service like Scratch is their professionalism and the fact that in the worst case scenario, if your DJ can’t make it, they will send a backup DJ. We worked with Scratch Weddings for our Labor Day wedding at the suggestion of a friend. While I have a lot of professional DJ friends, we specifically wanted a wedding DJ so our friends could relax and because they have experience navigating the particular wedding format -- as well as the ability to send a back-up if your chosen DJ is out sick. They were very communicative about the process, the rates were fair and they helped us selected our DJ. We are a queer couple (LGBTQ -- they vendor was gay/lesbian/queer-friendly FYI). We worked with DJ Lady FX who was wonderful and looked fabulous on our big day. The vendor uses a platform where you can create all your own playlists for you type a folks out there who want to be hands on with the music (which we were!). We wanted a lot of 90s gay ballads and oldies and not much modern music and they were totally great about meeting our needs. Leading up to the event, we went over the particulars which was very helpful. The DJ was able to provide mics during the ceremony and make all pertinent announcements. They even made sure they could pronounce everyone's name properly. They were very sensitive to our requests about when to use pronouns/titles and when not to (Mrs. vs no title). Which we really appreciated!!Our only complaint is that we notified the contact at the vendor about a specific clip from my late father to be played during the ceremony which we were told would not be an issue but that didn't get communicated to the DJ so we had to move it until the reception which wasn't what we had planned for. In the end, it wasn't a significant issue and overall we were very pleased with our DJ and vendor. We would also recommend them to any brides shopping for a fair deal and good quality DJ. More...

DJ Trife was AMAZING! I've seen him spin at so many other weddings that it was a no brainer to have him DJ our wedding. Scratch was awesome throughout the process, keeping you up with things that needed to be completed and timeline details. On the day of Trife had all of my guests on the dance floor. It was packed the entire night and EVERYONE and I mean everyone raved about how great the music was. We used our Music Match online portal to choose songs that we liked, and Trife was actually able to stick to all of them. Working with Scratch Weddings was a complete joy. As a very excited, newly-engaged bride, I contacted Scratch before my husband and I even secured a venue and wedding date, but Scratch was very understanding and sent us information anyway. I love that they aren't your typical wedding DJs and prefer not to be overly cheesy, which was what we were looking for. Once we booked our venue, moving forward with Scratch was a breeze. MusicMatch was just so perfect for me as I like to be organized, so my husband and I enjoyed creating our playlists. Even through staff changes, everything was smooth sailing with Scratch, and I am so grateful for their professionalism and communication. One of my biggest worries was not having a lot of dancing, but DJ Alias had the dance floor packed! He took what we were going for and supplemented our list with so many great songs. There were so many bangers played that night and my Jamaican family members were so happy when "our" music was played, considering it was a "multicultural" wedding and the majority of the guests were from my husband's side. There was something for everyone, and I think some guests from the two sides actually bonded a bit over the love of the music! We hired DJ Cincere to DJ our wedding. He had the dance floor going all night and we received SO many compliments from our guests about how great the DJ was. There was a few bumps in the road with planning, however I am glad we hired Cincere because of all the compliments we received. Our guests had a great time. Our photographer recommended Scratch and I am glad we went with them.  We hired Scratch for our wedding and everything went seamlessly.  You can pick out your DJ and you can create a playlist.  Everything was done online except for the conference call with the DJ and the coordinator about 1 week before the wedding.  We used DJ Ollie who was great.  If there was a particular song that we wanted to hear, he would play it for us.  Our wedding was small so it was easier to handle. As for the playlist, they listed songs of every genre imaginable!  Looking back at the pictures, my guests looked like they had a blast.  At one point, a guest took over the microphone and had others singing (?) along.  Just one minor criticism is that the DJ could have been a tad bit more aggressive but that's alright, he did manage to get us all on the dance floor. We hired Scratch Weddings for our wedding at Brooklyn Winery and used DJ Twin-T. The whole process was smooth and guided from beginning to end, which I very much appreciated since I hadn't planned big events in NYC before. They are clearly seasoned experts. Some of the best things:

1) They coordinated directly with the venue to arrange things like the sound system, arrival time, setup, etc. It was very seamless for me.
2) They let you choose your own DJ based on sound clips they send you. If you don't like any of the initial ones they send over, you can request more.
3) DJ Twin-T was AMAZING at reading the room and understanding our vibe for the wedding. We weren't really sure what exact songs should be played for the pre-ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner time, etc. (basically background music), so left it in her hands, and she did it perfectly. We had our wedding this past weekend and DJ Marvl helped our wedding stay lit the entire night! DJ Marvl knows how to start and keep a party going. He is very inituitive and is able to read his crowd well. I had a blast at my wedding and we can't thank him enough for that! DJ Vida Ventura rocked the wedding this past weekend at the Brooklyn Botanical Garden, and that's a huge space to fill with music! She was super intuitive with the timeline and announcing the transitions from introductions to dance sets to toasts. She was terrific! Our wedding was on Jan 12th, and we worked with DJ Vida from Scratch. The process was convenient and simple - their portal makes it super easy to pick songs for all your important points throughout the night, as well as set the general tone for the evening. My husband and I do not like traditional cheesy wedding songs, so we were VERY happy to be able to use the "do not play" list!On the day of, Vida was friendly and showed great awareness of the crowd, adjusting to what people were responding to, and kept a very active dance floor for us for hours. When it came to finding a DJ – we had no idea where to start. Photographers and videographers are easier because you see their work online, but DJs were a little trickier. My husband had found Scratch DJs through his research and we were instantly intrigued – they go through quite the process to pick their DJs, and they use actual turntables which was cool! We initially spoke with their Music Manager, Adrienne and had a great experience from the start. She was nice, super knowledgeable and we quickly got excited about the potential to work with Scratch. After picking a DJ from a list Adrienne sent, we then worked with their Talent Manager Liz to plan out the rest of the day and she was just as great! The whole process was easy and seamless.

Now onto the DJ we picked – DJ Adub. Our goal was to have our dance floor packed the entire time, and in short – DJ Adub NAILED it! He played quite the mix of music and our guests loved every moment of it. He was able to read the crowd and keep them moving the entire night! It was really really important for me to have awesome music (because I love to dance myself and I’ve certainly been to weddings where the music was so so and people were sitting around.) We had a great experience with DJ Phenomenon through Scratch Weddings. We worked with Adrienne Hays (weddings manager) and Sandra Usherov (post-contract day-to-day contact) -- both were fantastically responsive and eager for our business, which made me happy as a (potential) customer. Adrienne set up three DJ interviews for us, which was a nice touch although kind of hit-or-miss on personalities. We eventually chose to work with DJ Phenomenon, based on how professional, fun, and upbeat he was during our conversation. We highly recommend him!! Contracting and paperwork with Scratch was quick and easy, and I heard no complaints on logistics from our wedding coordinator. Our wedding was on November 11, 2017, and we had the pleasure of working with DJ Ollie. DJ Ollie was absolutely incredible -- professional, punctual, fun, and had all of the wedding guests dancing all night long. Our wedding was pretty diverse, with a ages ranging from five to mid-seventies, and several different races and backgrounds. DJ Ollie was able to read the room exceptionally well and made sure that a wonderful time was had by all. I'm still getting compliments from wedding guests telling me that this was the best wedding they'd ever been to, and there's no doubt in my mind that DJ Ollie and Scratch Weddings had a lot to do with that!

We hired this company as one of midtownloft and terrace's preferred vendor. Little bit pricey but they have us "midtown loft" special deal. They are very professional. We didn't have to worry about anything, they also provided music for rooftop ceremony and cocktail hour.

We had a great experience with Scratch Weddings! We chose DJ Qlassick after he did a great job at my sister's wedding four years ago.

We made a rough playlist to give him an idea of the type of music we were looking for, and he and Karina asked us some additional questions we hadn't thought to consider. Qlassick did a phenomenal job of reading the crowd and timing the music. He also chimed in at the right moments to structure the reception (cake cutting, speeches, etc.). He was very accommodating, even when we had detailed requests and last-minute changes. We were also happy that he included some familiar older music to include guests of all ages.

Our top priority for the wedding was making sure our guests had a good time and Scratch definitely delivered. The best part about our reception was knowing everyone was having a lot of fun, which allowed us to relax and have more fun, too. I came across DJ Action Jackson at a Wayfair wedding event and the tunes he played completely resonated with my friend and I. I had to have that guy DJ our wedding! Our choice was further confirmed when we met with he and the Scratch wedding coordinator, discussing the details we preferred and ensuring we were on the same page. The planning meetings, detail documentation and online music match page allowed us to know our favorite songs would be played, and all the details we envisioned would go off without a hitch. The night of our wedding was a blast and we can honestly say that the dance floor was full of smiling dancing guests from the second the music started! He was great at playing off the mood and hitting each generation of folks we had invited. One minor issue was that the scratch coordinator was not so proactive with reaching out about the final payment and final DJ meeting; we had to initiate that, whereas I though they would reach out to us for that. We worked with Scratch to book DJ Alias for our wedding, and we couldn't have been happier. DJ Alias was AMAZING. We had such an amazing dance floor all night, and a big part of that was that DJ Alias was SO good at reading the room. We went with DJ Alias and he was a DREAM DJ for our wedding. He's lovely, so nice and helpful, the music was on point! My husband and I could not ask for a better DJ, truly. I absolutely loved working with Scratch Weddings and totally recommend them as your wedding DJ, especially DJ Revuleo!  After gathering estimates from several different DJs, my husband and I decided on Scratch Weddings because their rates were very reasonable and they didn't charge for traveling to our wedding venue in upstate New York.  My initial phone call was with Jenn, their wedding manager.  During our telephone conversation, Jenn gathered important information such as our different musical tastes and how involved we wanted a DJ to be during the wedding and reception.  Afterwards, Jenn provided us with a list of DJs that she thought would be a good fit for us, including their resumes and sample mixes of their music.  I thought it was a great introduction to the different DJs as we was able to listen to their music and see if we liked them.  Once we chose DJ Revuleo, we began working with Sandra, their operations manager.  Sandra gave us a very detailed timeline on what to expect from them and on what they expect from us leading up to the wedding.  They were organized, professional, and diligent, which I absolutely appreciated as I was long-distance wedding planning.  In addition to giving us a timeline, Sandra also set us up with their Music Match account so that during the months leading up to the wedding, my husband, friends, family, and I could build a music playlist for the wedding party introductions, dinner, and dancing.  It was so easy and fun!  A couple of weeks before the wedding, Sandra, DJ Revuleo, my husband, and I had a telephone conference call about all of the details of the wedding - the day-of timeline, introductions, toasts, music to play, music not to play.  Sandra and DJ Revuleo were such a delight to work with as they made everything so simple and stress-free.  The day of the wedding, DJ Revuleo was on time, set up his equipment with no problems, and was great throughout the reception (was involved when he needed to be but didn't take over the reception).  Everyone absolutely LOVED the music that he played - the dance floor was always packed with people!  Afterwards, several people came up to me to compliment DJ Revuleo's music and to say that they had so much fun dancing all night long.  To me and my husband, the reception music was one of our top priorities for our wedding as we wanted to make sure our guests were on the dance floor all night long.  Scratch Weddings and DJ Revuleo helped us achieve this, and we can't thank them enough! We had interviewed a lot of different DJs, it was by far the most difficult vendor to choose of all the things we needed. We interviewed with Scratch, and it was a little outside our budget . But after talking with them, we decided it was worth the little extra for the confidence that we would FOR SURE be getting quality. Scratch DJ's use an awesome app where you tell them your favorites, your do not plays, your first dance, ceremony music, everything you want in one organized place. It was a lot of fun, but honestly I wasn't worried to much about it because after hearing DJ Adub's mixes, I knew he didn't need any direction he would be awesome. And he was! My friends in their 20's to my parents friends in their 60's & 70's are all raving about the music days later. DJ Adub covered everything, from running the show and introducing speeches, setting up for my officiant before the ceremony, and my favorite part -he some how mixed songs from completely different genres and decades into one and the night was just incredible. The team beyond the DJ is also organized, they schedule calls with you to go over details and we super accommodating when we wanted to add or remove parts of our package up to the week before the wedding! Working with scratch weddings was easy. They provided us with several DJ choices, and although our first choice turned out not to be available, they worked it out and got us more options.  We were able to send them our list of favorite music and consult with the DJ and the day of consultant about the plan for the evening. We ended up with  DJ Dave Ali and he put together a fantastic evening of non stop dance music mix.  He kept to our list and wouldn't play any odd guest requests unless we ok'd it. We had a great experience with Scratch and DJ D Tweed (aka Darryl). They were recommended to us by our wedding venue and we were so pleased with how easy they were to work with, along with their organization and professionalism. They check in when they say they will and literally cover all the bases so we were very prepared leading up to our wedding. DJ D Tweed literally killed it!!!! Everyone kept telling me, from old to young, that the DJ was off the hook!!! Everyone was dancing the whole night. I didn't even have time to get the right pictures at the wedding because everyone was having the time of their life! We used Scratch for our wedding at Bedell cellars in July. Two words: DJ TRIFE. He kept the dancefloor packed the entire night. We submitted a list of songs that were current and hit lists, and he put in some oldies for us. The entire room was buzzing about how amazing he was! Friends of ours are looking into places he spins just so they can see him again! We also had guitarists at cocktail hour that were the perfect mood to start the night. Scratch weddings made selecting a DJ so easy. Adrienne was amazing from day 1, she called, emailed and helped us choose the perfect DJ for our event. I was very worried about having a cheesy DJ and MC and we could not have been happier with DJ Cool Out. He kept all our guests on schedule, played our requested music and then some, and was so professional and sweet. He even surprised us when we decided to forgo a traditional wedding cake and cut a pizza cake instead, by playing "that's amore" during the pizza cutting! He also came up to me at the end of the night and asked if I wanted any special request to play before our final song, which I just loved and made so such a special moment dancing with all my friends. Our dance floor was packed all night and he mixed all of our different genres so well. When you're planning a wedding from across the country like we did, it is so important to be able to skype and conference call and be ensured your choices in vendors will pay off.
