Having recently completed a 2-day course in supervising first aid for mental health, I just wanted to share how excellent this course is. Scott delivers to course at a perfect pace and provides a welcoming environment to sit round and discuss topics with himself and other course members. Upon completed the course, it has provided me with a better insight into mental health and has given me the tools to help support people around me, in both the workplace and my personal life. I attended mental health first aid training course yesterday & today .I found the course very interesting and inspiring. I just attended a FAA Level 3 Award in Supervising First Aid for Mental Health course in Glasgow ran by Scott Newby...It was absolutely fantastic! You can totally tell that Scott is passionate about his company and Mental Health as a whole; it makes it much more easier to learn if the person who is teaching is enthusiastic, it definitely makes you enthusiastic also!Scott is inspirational in what he has done with his life and for the positive message he is trying to get out there I.e. look after your own mental health as well as those around you!I would definitely recommend this course to anyone! I would like to thank Scott Newby from Newby Core. I had the pleasure of attending the first aid mental health course on the 7th and 8th May 2019 in Edinburgh. Having taken many training courses for different subjects in the past I can honestly say that this is one of best I have ever had the pleasure of attending. Not only because mental health is a serious issue and a very important one, but also the way it was delivered by Scott. He is very passionate and knowledgeable about mental health. It also opened my own thoughts and understanding how it affects us all in our lives including friends, loved ones and work colleagues. It also highlighted the stigmatisation around mental health and the ignorance of what someone is suffering. Because we do not see it does not mean it is not real. You see someone with a broken leg how do we react (aw what a shame, hope your leg gets better - you take it easy now rest it. ) When we meet someone who may be suffering mental health what do we see?
