Steve Schwing has completed 3 projects in my home and has done a fabulous job on all of them. First project was a year ago when our basement flooded. Steve and his assistant replaced drywall, baseboards and pulled up the damaged linoleum floor. He suggested painting the concrete floor rather than putting down new linoleum which was a great idea! We were very pleased with the results. I had gotten several estimates for the repair work but Steve’s estimate was the most thorough and reasonably priced. We had Steve remodel two of our bathrooms next. One bathroom was completely gutted and rebuilt. We had a mold issue which Steve discovered the root cause and corrected the problem. The finished bathrooms are lovely and came out better than I expected. In October 2018, Steve remodeled our kitchen. He took out the old cabinets, floor, and two partial walls. Basically we doubled the size of our kitchen and it is now open and airy. Steve also put in an island and a transom window for us in a wall which had no window before. We really wanted some natural light coming into the kitchen. What a transformation! His remodel of my kitchen exceeded my expectations. Steve arrived promptly and kept his work area clean. He is such a pleasant and outgoing person that it was a delight working with him. He suggested ways I could improve my remodel project based on his expertise. I was most grateful for the suggestions and accepted his advice. Steve can tackle any size job: kitchen remodel, bathroom remodel, build a deck, shed ramp, or simply odd jobs that you don’t have the time or skill set to do. As a single mother, I needed someone I could trust. Steve handled all of the large and small projects on my overhaul project of my 1940's home in Catonsville. He worked seamlessly with my kitchen designer to create a unique space, well designed, within budget and on time. Every space of the house required Steve's team to execute some level of expertise from hanging ceilings, taking down walls, installing windows, carpentry, light electrical to general handy work. Working in an older house, Steve brought creative ideas and his experience to the job as well. Steve is an honest member of our community, I felt comfortable having him do work in the house when I was not home. We hired Schwing Construction to finish our basement. We had interviewed at least a dozen contractors and received bids from several. Steve's bid was not the lowest, but it was the most thorough and accurate. He gave us great options and took the time to explain what he was planning to do. We built a bedroom, a full bathroom, an office, a gym, a huge storage space over the sump pump (creative), and a large open area for the kids to play. We even managed to build a bar into a bump out that has two mini-fridges installed. The basement might just be the nicest level in our home now. We constantly get great compliments from guests. I commissioned Schwing Construction to install a newel post, balusters, and a handrail to my staircase where there was none. The quote was competitive and we are extremely pleased with the quality of the workmanship. The team was very friendly, hard-working, and respectful. The work was completed in a timely manner and the area was cleaned. The result looks beautiful! We are having Schwing Construction quote a few other projects that we would like to complete in our home.
