We've used ***** as a DJ twice, and twice he did an amazing job. He kept large groups of children engaged and entertained while the adults had cocktails before sitting down to dinner. He was extremely easy to work with and accommodating when it came to our music selections, and gave good advice for time frames and maintaining the flow of the evening. We hired Jerry as the DJ for our wedding in October 2015 and this was one of the best decisions we made! Jerry played the music for our ceremony and reception, which were in two different locations, and he ensured that everything ran smoothly the entire day. Jerry’s knowledge of music, professionalism, energy, timeliness, planning and attention to detail made working with him easy and enjoyable. From the first consulting meeting, to the several phone calls leading up to the big day, Jerry listened to what we wanted and helped us have the perfect wedding. All our guests raved about the music that Jerry put together and had so much fun dancing the night away. He also kept our guests entertained during the hors d’oeuvre hour while we were off with the photographer by having a limbo contest, which our family and friends are still talking about! Jerry was great for our wedding! He was a great value and totally provided everything that he said he would! He was able to be flexible when he couldn't play music at the rehearsal dinner and that was awesome. However throughout the night I thought that he had a really hard time getting people to the dance floor and getting their attention overall. It was kinda a buzz kill. At the end of the night we were supposed to do a toast to everybody, but everybody was gone, and yet he still recommended that we make the toast. Super awkward. Other than the lack of attention that he was getting from our guests, Jerry still did a great job and he is totally affordable. I would however recommend that he keep up with payments for couples. It became about a week before the wedding and we still owed him, which I thought we already paid. Not an issue, I would have just liked a bit of a reminder more than that close to the wedding. Jerry was the best! He created the exact atmosphere that we wanted. He met with us multiple times in advance of the wedding to understand how the event was going to flow. During the event, he read the crowd perfectly - the dance floor was packed the entire time with people of all ages. He is a true professional that has lots of ideas for you to consider. I'd like to give Jerry more than five stars. This was the best money spent for my wedding. I met with him twice and he really wanted to get to know us as a couple and make sure he had a good idea of what makes us us. Naturally, he played lots of great music, rich we had discussed ahead of time, but he pretty much saved the wedding which was getting a bit crazy with running around for photos. I guess that happens with big bridal parties-I had 11 bridesmaids and 7 groomsmen. He also acknowledged my grandpa's 90th birthday, and... He led some dances like the electric slide and gangnam style, which was so much fun.It helped get lots more people on the dance floor. As if that weren't enough, he's on several chambers of commerce locally, and has tons of connections.when I realized that my house would be full of guests on our wedding night, Jerry gave me a recommendation for a great hotel near me. He knows the manager, as he is their exclusive dj! Because of Jerry,I got a super deal on a lovely room, with a massage at their spa!! The room was so amazing too- we went out the back door and found ourselves at a little table and chairs, inches from the lake and two beautiful swans swam right up to us!! Great DJ! My husband and I like a lot of oldies and he had every song we wanted and he was willing to get the ones that he didn't have. We liked the way he was prepared in consultations and gave us a lot of great ideas. He really followed the guidelines we gave him on the wedding day. He arrived on time and was very professional. I also really liked the way he gave my husband a small mic to put on his shirt for the ceremony so everyone could hear us. That was unexpected and everyone in the audience raved about how great it was to actually hear us. He did a great job getting the crowd going and we danced the night away!! Jerry did a great job DJ-ing our wedding. He gave us a terrific deal because we booked early and we were referred by my cousin. He offered us flexibility with the online song selection. Jerry at Portable Party Crew West was personally responsible for making my wedding fun, and running smoothly. Jerry doesn't just sit behind a table and play songs, he organizes the music for the entire ceremony, plus plans the timing for all the events: bride and groom's entrance to the reception, cake, first dance, bouquet toss, etc. He will MC the entire reception so you don't have to think about a single thing.
