Matt walked three dogs for us while we went on holiday. A relative was able to have them at home but couldn't walk them for physical reasons. One of the dogs who lives with another relative We needed to communicate a lot and this was a big strength. The dogs absolutely loved it and we came back to healthy, happy and fit dogs. The relative was also very pleased with Matt and he couldn't have done more to make the process easier. A fantastic service, and very attentive to our animal's needs! After booking our holiday we realised that our usual parental cat sitter wasn't available, but Scamps and Champs stepped up. Not only was our cat fed and watered every day, but she got played with every morning too (crucial for a sociable cat to keep her happy). We had photo updates and could see she became very relaxed with the daily visits and the visits clearly made her happy while we were away for the week. Melanie visits our cat when we go away. It makes me feel happier that I can leave my pet in her own environment and not worry about her being locked up in a cage.
I can say that Melanie is a very caring person.

Emma and Melanie made sure we were set up perfectly for our wedding which wouldn't have been complete without our Staffy, Chubbs.
The whole service was excellent and conciencious.
The update of Chubbs' eating and sleeping complete with photo was so great for putting our minds at ease.
Whilst I hope I don't need another wedding service we will very much be in touch for future services!

Sophie has been staying in our home looking after our lurcher Seb we received regular emails with updates and pictures and he was definitely happy and settled with Sophie especially the pictures where he is having cuddles on the sofa. Also Mel came in to spend time with him during the day. We love how we came home to a detailed log of what has happened that day. We will be definitely using their services again and would highly recommend them. Alot better solution than kennels especially since our boy spent 18 months in kennels before we rescued him. More...

What do you love most about your job?
There is too much to list:) I enjoy meeting the clients, and meeting all sorts of pets. Each day, I enjoy my visits, walks, and knowing that we are helping clients to provide the best care for their pets. When you're greeted with a waggy tail, or see a cat that has previously been hiding, but now feels confident to come out and be petted, it's great. I enjoy keeping clients updated with pictures and texts, and then knowing they're reassured that they pet is happy and settled with us.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I have my own 2 cats, both from a rescue and both very timid initially. After a bad stay for them at a cattery, I decided never to take them out of their comfort zone again which is when I came across Scamps and Champs. When the previous owner needed to leave the business for health reasons, I jumped at the chance to take over. Now I get to meet lots of animals and ensure their care from us is excellent. Although we are a business, animals come first in everything we do.
Why should our clients choose you?
There are lots of different pet carers offering a range of services. At Scamps & Champs we use pet carers who are experienced with pets, and that we trust to provide the highest care for them. Our pet carers are from a range of backgrounds, including teaching, professional backgrounds, trainee vets, council employees. retired couples. Our pet carers are police checked and reference checked. IAs a franchisee I am kept up to date with current laws, and receive annual training, and also hold a canine first aid certificate. We have excellent reviews on our Face book page, and also on Free Index for dog walkers.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
We have a household declaration that must be completed by clients. We use extra hand hygiene precautions before and after leaving a property. We follow all Government and DEFRA guidelines regarding COVID 19 safety.
Dog walking
We provide solo and group walks. We walk a maximum of 4 dogs in a group and the size of our group depends on the dogs. We offer 30 or 60 minute walks.
Pet visits
We can provide morning and/or evening visits for pets whilst you're away. We can also provide dog visits throughout the day or puppy visits.
Pet sitting
We can provide full pet sitting, which is a minimum of 20 hours per day and night. We also offer day sitting, or overnight sitting. Walks are included.
Home boarding
We carefully match your dog to our home boarding families, and then arrange a meeting, so you can meet the family before confirming the booking. We need to ensure your dogs are vaccinated and microchipped. Our families are licensed by their council, and insured.
