How do you write a review on someone who changed our lives?

My wife and I own 10 acres of rural property in Northern California. Thinking the most economical option would to replace our 30 year manufactured home, which we purchased in the 90's, with a new manufactured home I called Steve to ask his advice on a set of steps for this new home 2 days after we paid a non binding deposit for a new manufactured home.

This call started us on a path away from a manufactured home to a custom home. Now it's not everyday you build a custom home and for my wife and I this will be the only one.

Again how do you write a review about someone who in a short period of time changed our lives and started us on a path of awesome memories?

I'll say this whatever construction project you might be interested in calling SBC you won't find a more honest, upfront contractor. My career has kept me around contractors and in 30 years you see the great, good and not so good.

To have someone like SBC help build our dream house was a true blessing. Like anyone that's been in our "newb" house building shoes you don't really "relax" until the day you get your final but we never experienced a restless night knowing SBC was in our corner.

SBC Contractors did an excellent remodel of my home. They worked well with me in both design and implementation. They remodeled my foryer, kitchen, pantry, utility, bath, and old redwood deck. Project included structural foundation reinforcement, moving walls, adding/replacing windows & doors, new cabinets, new lighting, hardwood floors, lots of tile, quartz countertops, covered patio and Trex deck.

I have used SBC for several projects. The largest was a complete redo of an 1,850 sq. ft. condominium in Menlo Park, CA. This involved removing and replacing doors, hardware, cabinets, tiles, carpets, kitchen appliances, bathroom sanitary equipment, fireplace, lighting and A/C, as well as painting.

The work took exactly 10 1/2 weeks, 3 days more than planned. It was executed flawlessly, to our entire satisfaction.

We hired SBC Contractors to remodel our kitchen, bathroom, and stairs. After receiving bids from other contractors our decision was to hire Steve for our kitchen remodel. He is very professional and a great pleasure to work with. Steve was able to provide us the kitchen of our dreams and keeping within budget and timeline. We were so pleased with the end result so immediately hired SBC Contractors to remodel our bathroom. Steve's knowledge and patience helped tremendously while making decisions for materials needed for the bathroom. End result was beautiful. The kitchen was done in 2010 and bathroom in 2011. SBC Contractors did an addition/remodel of my existing home. They added over 400 square feet to the kitchen and the master bedroom/bathroom. They also added a large 500 square foot deck of Cumaru wood on the back side of the home. The kitchen was completely demo and new cabinets, windows, granite countertops, appliances and flooring were installed. The master bathroom was completely gutted and remodeled and included adding a large walk-in closet. The entry way flooring was replaced and new carpet was laid throughout the entire house. Their was extensive roofing also performed on this job. They also upgraded the electrical service to our home.

SBC Construction self performed a large amount of the work with their own forces. This included carpentry, electrical, painting, excavation and plumbing. The job went very smoothly and on schedule. The owner, Steve Brandenburg, was very friendly and kept you informed about the status of the project. The project lasted essentially 4 months. As promised, we were only 9 weeks without a functioning kitchen. The interior remodel went very quickly.

SBC was contracted to build a BBQ island, extend the concrete patio, and move water and gas line. They put in a new BBQ, trash container, fridge, fan and lights. There work was outstanding and the workers were very mindful of my property during the construction. I would have them do more work for me if needed. Thanks Steve for the great job.

Owner Steve Brandenburg is very personable as are all of the subs that worked on our kitchen remodel. They showed up on time, worked together creatively to solve problems and all had a high standard of care and cleanliness. We especially appreciated the lighting effects that they created, Steve's suggestions during the process and critical eye in making final adjustments, Richard's patience and expertise at doing almost anything, and everyone's attention to a daily clean up. This was a very pleasant experience. Steve Brandenburg was very prompt with his estimate, and worked with us for scheduling the work around holidays and vacation time.

The work was performed as scheduled, on time and under budget. Steve monitored every facet of the construction, and daily briefed the subs as to what was to be accomplished. He then followed up at the end of the day to check on the progress and quality of work. He would also call each day to let us know when the workers would arrive.

I can't think of a better experience, and would HIGHLY recommend SBC contractors for any construction projects. His employees and subs were the best we have ever had the pleasure to work with.. More...
