Sawyer and Sawyer Photography Company Description

Company Description

I am Ray Sawyer, a professional wedding photographer, based in the North of England. Together with my wife Beverley, we are Sawyer and Sawyer Photography, and we specialise in capturing the most important moments of your special day.

We understand how important it is to use a wedding photographer who is happy to take the time to get to know both of you. Someone who is then able to use that knowledge to capture those special moments others might miss.

When its time to choose a wedding photographer, the best choice will be someone who you trust and makes you feel relaxed – a photographer you “click” with.
I take the time to really get to know every couple before their wedding day. Doing so makes it easier for me to capture more of their most important and precious moments on the day of the wedding.

My relaxed style of wedding photography combined with a true passion for your day helps me capture not only those special moments but those precious and spontaneous ones, too – those moments of true emotion and those fleeting moments that will bring back happy memories for years to come.

We provide a very flexible wedding photography service throughout the UK and Europe and can be booked anywhere from 3 weeks to 3 years, in advance. We offer a high quality service at affordable prices.

If you are looking for an affordable wedding photographer that you can rely on, we would love to tell you more about how we can help.

Sawyer and Sawyer Photography Q&A

Company Q&A

What do you love most about your job?

Being a wedding photographer is a great privilege, being part of someones big day is very rewarding and sharing those fantastic moments and memories drives me to make and create great photos for each and every client. I love everything about photographing a wedding not just the fun and the romance, of course there is a lot of stress to get the perfect shots and capturing those fleeting moments but i love the challenge.

What inspired you to start your own business?

I started my own business back in December 2012 as a graphic design business which i still run and primarilly deal with designing school prospectuses and school resources. I added the photography element to the business to help in the production of the design work.
Not long after i attended a few weddings and photographed them for free after all we all start somewhere.
All my early weddings were shot with a Canon 60D and a kit lens. The shots looked great however more versatility and professional looking shots can be gained with better equipment and so we invested over £4000 in new gear such as the Canon 5D MKIII, 2 L series Canon lenses 24-70 and 70-200 to cover the focal ranges required at a wedding. The 200 comes in well for staying out the couples way and capturing perfect shots without them even knowing i'm there. I wont explain the entire kit but needless to say all our equipment is top of the line and produces stunning quality.

Why should our clients choose you?

There must be thousands and thousands of photographers out there. Some great, some not so much.
I look back on my own wedding photographs and would rate them 4/10. Obviously i would love to have done my own photographs but being the groom is a full time job. Just because a photographer is cheap or expensive doesn't mean they are the right fit for your wedding.
I was a 2nd shooter for FREE gaining experience at a local wedding where the bride had paid just £250 for a main photographer. Sounds like a good deal doesn't it. The only problem is your not just paying for photos, your paying for them to be there through your entire day, they need to have lots of great qualities. In this instance the main photographer was shouting at guests, dressed like he was going down the allotment and generally being brash. When the pictures arrived in Boots envelopes, lets just say it was a needle in a haystack trying to find a useable picture. The couple in question were so thankful i was there as a 2nd shooter and looking back on the situation i am so glad i was there to save the memories of their day.
My starting package in just £350 however i certainly dress the part, take beautiful photos and make it my mission to get along with all the guests and parties.

A gentleman with a flair and eye to capture your most precious moments in life. Proof is in the images of his folio. Cannot recommend him high enough to justify this person's talent.
