I am so disappointed with the service and the cake I ordered for my son's 1st birthday party. I placed the order way in advance and for pickup at 12pm on the Saturday of the party. When I arrived at 12:12pm I was told the cake was not ready and it would be 15 more minutes. Although annoyed, I understand that things happen and waited for the cake. It took 35 minutes for them to finish up the cake and once it was given to me it was so completely obvious that it had been forgotten about and rushed. There was supposed to be checker board pattern (which I paid extra for) all around the ENTIRE side of the cake but it only went half-way up. When I placed the order, the girl taking it said they could do a giant smiley face in the middle and then write "Milo Is One!" around the face which was a super cute idea. That's not what happened - instead it just said "Milo is one" with a small smiley face for the "o" in one. That wasn't even a big deal but again, the "one" was so sloppily done. No clean edges, the lettering got smaller as it went. There was no iced piping boarder around the cake or anything. Just looked very plain and rushed. My son's birthday party started at 1pm so I had to just make due with the cake I was given. The cake was dry and only had a little bit of strawberry frosting on the inside. Overall, a disappointment. While the person at the counter was friendly and kind, all of the treats we took home were not worth it. The chocolate chip sandwich cookie had a bitter aftertaste and no flavor overall. There was almost no filling as well and it was bad enough I threw out most of it rather than finishing it. The citrus flavored sugar cookies only had a hint of flavor in the frosting. I was very disappointed in the lemon cookie since the employee said they were really good. I went in there expecting exceptional quality after a lot of talk from different people, about the cupcakes and the quality of cookies, I was highly disappointed by the cookies, way too sweet you could really taste the brown sugar in them, and the cupcakes that I ordered were dry, however the salad that I ordered was very good, with that being said they are supposed to be known for their bakery goods, it was quite disappointing

Ordered a custom birthday cake. They never made it. Said their policy is for cakes to be prepaid. That's fine and reasonable. I would have GLADLY prepaid had they ASKED me to. They NEVER called, emailed or texted (we communicated via text) requesting prepayment. They never told me they wouldn't be making the cake without prepayment. Ordered a tiny cake for 75 dollars for my friend's bday. Disappointed from its dryness. They charged me extra for mango but still didn't get Mango chunk as much as expected, just few pieces here n there. The edible picture was not the same color, instead of color it was black n white though they charged 20 dollar extra for the picture too. The raspberry mousse on the cake was extra sweet. We just had the best experience at Sassy's!! This is our first time trying Sassy's and we are very pleased!! We placed a very large order of cupcakes for a 90th Birthday Party! I went around 10am for breakfast. They had to search for a handheld menu for me (I forgot my glasses & could not see the board behind the register) I was standing in line & felt very rushed while ordering. I went to find a nice booth, but every single table & booth was dirty. The booth I chose was the cleanest, which I still had to wash off myself. While seated the server brought us the wrong food & was snippy with me. By the time I got my food I was starving, but when I asked for butter they were out or low, but the table after me got extra...? The silverware was atrocious, sticky, used, down right GROSS. ~ The serving staff was hired on looks alone, because it seemed like not a one of them knew nor cared about what to do. HOWEVER ~ The blueberry pancakes were absolutely delicious!!!!!! They made up for the nasty dirty everything. The pancakes were perfect in everyway ~ my suggestion is to preorder for pick up!! Cake looked great. However the lady who I believe was the owner, was really rude when I picked up my cake simply because I asked for a taller box so the decorations wouldn’t be smashed. I don’t mind paying extra for a box (which I did) but it’s not necessary to be short with a customer, just because you had to come up front to show the girls where to find and instruct them how to fold a taller box. Google(d) some places to stop for breakfast, before going to the Easter parade in downtown Mesa. Thought this was just a bakery, didn't know they offered a dine in option, so we wanted to have breakfast and try some bakery items as well. We didn't know that we had to order at the register, so we're stressing at a menu board, trying to figure out what to eat. I ordered coffee, and was given a mug. Being that it's my 1st visit, I didn't know i had to serve myself, from a coffee bar that was in a little nook, around the corner and out of view. The woman at the register watched me go to my table and didn't bother to tell me where I could get coffee. I happened to see other ppl going around this corner and coming back with coffee😒. This was also where we had to retrieve utensils and condiments. Because I didn't order pancakes or waffles, I had to ask for syrup; which was put into a condiment cup. The only person to stop by our table to ask how everything was or if we needed anything, was a young man that happened to recognize my son from school. This the best kept secret in Mesa, AZ! The menu selection is surprisingly good. The Sassy Stacker and the Breakfast burrito were amazing and very generously portioned. Every dish we saw being served to other diners looked awesome. We couldn't leave before ordering some of their fantastic bakery items. I have visited this location of Sassy's several times - usually for breakfast. i visited today and ordered a Ruben sandwhich. I was surprised that this sandwhich cost $11.25 and with no side. I could buy a bag of chips for $1.50 additional. When I got the sandwhich it was on the small size. The pieces of corned beef were tiny - almost chopped. There was not a lot of meat at all and it tasted unusual to me. I spoke to a staff member and they re-made the sandwhich. They ran out of the marble rye and put it on another type of bread. That sandwhich was somewhat better. I will not be ordering this item here in the future. Also, in the womens room there are 2 stalls available but one of the stalls has been "out of service" for a long time.
