Great island to visit. Make sure you reach out to dragonshead cidery for a tasting and grab some awesome food at The Hardware Store.

I live here so definitely biased but if you’re in the Puget Sound area, you ought to visit us out on Vashon. It’s a sweet little community.

Vashon is a great place to visit for a day or two, lots of nice parks and public beaches, nice selection of restaurants, at least four gas stations ,a coffee roasterie ,performance arts ,two full service groceries, at least a couple artisan bakeries, two pot shops, equestrian park, about 700 acres of maintained multiuser trail systems, horse, hike, bike. dockton park has a marina style dock for boaters(that is closed for repairs as of Sept 2021) and is across the street from dockton forest trails.there are places to kayak camp, lisabuela, winghaven, spring beach, and pt.robinson parks are all on the cascade marine trail ,electric and regular bike rentals and kayak or s u p rentals availible, lots to do and enjoy ! BTW ferry fare is round trip "its free to get off" More...

Unique place, I enjoy my time on the island every visit. Ferry ride only way on and off the island, I like that. People there have been kind to me.

The only way on and off the island is by ferry. A truly stunning place to visit. If you like the ferry and want to visit one of Washington’s beautiful islands, check out vashon island for a day trip.
