Sandy Springs Music was established in 2004. Since then we have been our neighborhoods home for music lessons, instrument rentals for band and orchestra and we now have a full retail store selling all your music accessories, sheet music and we do carry a number of guitar/uke lines for you.

We have had a great experience at Sandy Springs music. The whole family has taken lessons there over the last six years - guitar, ukulele, banjo, mandolin, voice - all of the teachers have been great both with the kids and parents!

My son had the best experience playing music this past season with Sandy Springs School of Music. He took the group rock band music classes which met regularly and performed at Venkman's as well as an end of the year recital. The performances blew us away- all different levels of talent with such dedication evident from the students and teachers. The weekly practice with musicians of his level helped my son grow- learning adaptability, honing timing and performance skills. He drank up every minute of it. David and his team of awesomely talented, professional, patient and friendly teachers have created such a special music school. Our son has been taking drum lesson with Alex Selph for the past 4 years. Alex is an enthusiastic and incredibly talented instructor, breaking down complex beats into manageable, teachable elements. He takes his students' musical interests into account and honors their requests to learn the beats behind their favorite artists. He truly cares about his students' success and shares a variety of musical genres, including jazz, Latin, pop, rock, swing, and others. Occasionally, lessons have had to be rescheduled due to illness or vacation plans, and Alex and SSM have been very accommodating about rescheduling that time. I have been taking lessons at Sandy Springs Music for a few years. During that time my excellent instructor, Jonathan, has helped me become more proficient in trumpet, flute and french horn. SSM provides perfect instruction for all levels of students - from children to adult beginners to expert musicians who wish to improve their skills. My kids have taken lessons at SSM for many years and we have been very pleased. Currently, my 11-year old son takes drum lessons with Alex. Alex is very engaging and makes each lesson enjoyable. He teaches technique but also plays some really good classic rock songs with my son. He makes it fun and relevant at the same time. Catch Air is one of my favorite play gyms. The climbing equipment is sturdy and safe-great for all ages from the little babies all the way up to elementary school. There are climbing areas for everyone. I also love the décor—bright and colorful, it’s like a candy land of fun-great for the kiddos imagination. Try their creamy fresh mushroom soup, baked with a puff pastry crust on top; Oysters Rockefeller which brings out, rather than burying, the oyster's flavor; the best fish and chips we ever tasted; and much more. And that's without considering the steaks and prime ribs, their specialty. They serve brunch on the weekends, with interesting things like crab and shrimp fritatta. What do you love most about your job?
Having grown up in Sandy Springs, there is nothing that gives me greater pleasure then turning around as an adult and offering our services to the same community I know so well. I only wish this existed when I was a kid playing guitar, I might have had the opportunity to meet fellow minded musicians and who knows, I might have found my "Beatles" band when I was 15 too! :)
What inspired you to start your own business?
I always knew I wanted to own my own business, I just didn't know what kind. After playing in bands and working in different areas of the music industry, I saw the need for this in our area and figured I would jump in and take a chance. 14 Years later we are growing still and that makes me extremely proud!

Proven and established over years and years of lessons and hard work! Our staff is among the best teachers in town and we are a team who always works for the betterment of the student! If at any time a student and teacher don't click, we have others to choose from to make sure you are with the person you feel is best for you or your child! Recitals, Student Showcases, Rock Band Classes and more keep things exciting and engaging for you and your family! We are also parterned with the best brass/woodwind repair man in town, Bill Smith. By partnering with Bill, this allows us to offer you the best service possible when it comes to maintaining and repairing any instrument you are renting or own!
