Clean, presentable, got an ambiance, big place...can accommodate big crowd, has a good karaoke sound system, most of all.. .the food is good. The Boodle fight looks inviting and presented to customers with style. The price of the buffet is reasonable enough. I say, better than most of the Filipino restaurant around Chicago and northwest suburbs. And lastly, the staff are friendly. I recommend this place, 'di kayo mapapahiya to invite friends of different culture. I'm sure they will love to eat filipino food once they tried it. More...

Yelp Restaurant Review, 03/08/17: Sandok N Palayok

I needed a venue to celebrate the 40th Day to Eternal Life for my dear aunt, DOLORES OZOA CABEL, that recently passed away. A place with space and accommodation to hold a mass and later have Filipino food service for 50 guests. "Sandok n Palayok at Iba pa" was the perfect place for my event that was reserved privately for the occasion. One side of the restaurant was set in theater style room layout with chairs in rows facing a stage area and table set as an altar. All necessary audio equipment were pre-set, provided and manned by one person of the restaurant at no cost. After the mass, food service was served on the other side of the restaurant. As soon as we heard a jeepney horn making repeated sounds as an entrance to the dining room. Everyone got excited and Oh My! An avalanche of food that was beautifully presented just made an entrance in "Boodle Fight" The food was served on a large wooden board lined with fresh banana leaves topped with delectable authentic and traditional Filipino food, my kind of taste and none of the fusion flavors. It's all genuine and old time Filipino recipes. The Crispy Pata, a deep fried pig trotters, and knuckles served with a soy-vinegar dip were just mouthwatering. I enjoyed it so much and ate it to the bare-bones! I was delighted with the flavors of the Atchara a pickled green papaya a lot! I had the pleasure of having one whole grilled Tilapia fish! I enjoyed it so much that I did sock the fish eye to no end, it was delicious! Just perfect with Itlog na Maalat; a salted duck egg served with freshly sliced plump red tomatoes on the sides. The salt flavor of the egg was just right! There was so much food with unlimited white steamed rice! Moreover, conveniently having a bakery shop that is also operated by the same. I was able to have a dessert buffet for my guests with their freshly made exquisite Sans Rival, delightful Brazo de Mercedes, Leche Flan, Cassava Cake and Macaroons. While dining, my guests were entertained with classic Filipino Folk songs that made the event festive. Karaoke singing followed to everyone's enjoyment. All of my guests had a great time with an outstandingly unique culinary experience with the "Boodle Fight" The service & food was Outstanding! My sincere thanks to the entire staff for making my event a success!

From the moment I stepped in, I was welcomed by friendly and accommodating staff. Not only was the service excellent but the food was delicious. The ube cake from their bakery was scrumptious.
