I shoot creative, documentary style wedding and elopement photography and I absolutely love my job! I'm based in the UK but shoot weddings all over the world, looking for new adventures and amazing couples to share them with!

She is so so lovely, friendly and approachable and went above and beyond to capture all those special moments from our big day. ..which we were absolutely blown away with when we received our photos! We wanted a couple of organised family photos which Sam handled perfectly and the rest of the time she captured those natural shots we really wanted too, without you even noticing she was there! What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
The secret to taking a great photograph is to really be in that moment. Really get a feel for your surroundings/the atmosphere and embrace it all! I'm not a huge fan of posing, especially where weddings are concerned because the last thing a newlywed couple want is to be pushed and pulled like a puppet...they want to get fully engrossed in their new adventure and that's what I shoot. Real raw emotions, and that to me is the perfect way to a great photograph.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
If a couple has picked me as their photographer then they know that what they are going to get is documentary style images, a little bit of creativity and above all very very little intrusion, so from the beginning I'd like to think my couples are feeling relaxed about being in front of the camera. I would, however, ask if there is anything in particular they are wanting to get out of their shoot and if there are any particular places they absolutely must have pictures taken...after all it is their day!
What do you love most about your job?
I love meeting new people and getting to be a part of their special day. There is no better feeling than finishing a wedding gallery, sending it over and getting a positive response back! Being a part, however small, of what is essentially a very intimate and personal celebration, is a huge honour and I honestly get so swept away in the whole day that I leave feeling completely overwhelmed with all of that love. It's amazing!
What inspired you to start your own business?
I had always been a keen photographer, I love anything creative and would like to think I have a good eye for it too! I fell into the trap of going from job to job that I didn't love, I was surrounded by negativity and really did feel like I was stuck at my desk without a chance of ever really realising my dream. I met an amazing photographer, who I became great friends with, and she took my under her wing and showed me that I could do whatever I put my heart into. So I left my 9-5 job, I moved back home (thank you mum and dad!) I wrote a very vague business plan, went to Italy on a workshop to figure out what it was I wanted to do and here I am! I'm now loving life and so grateful every day for the opportunities that I have now that I've followed my dream.
Why should our clients choose you?
In the end it's always down to what you want, what you like and what you need. I am not really traditional, I like it when couples really get creative and put their own stamp on their day which always results in amazing images and if you look at my gallery I think that really shows.
I love love, I love getting to know people and I especially love what I do. I am always as discreet as possible, documenting everything that is going on throughout the day, I will help with a stubborn buttonhole or load the dishwasher during bridal prep (yes that has happened) I hope that my photography speaks for itself, but it's always great to chat to a couple before booking so that we can get to know each other and make sure we're a good fit!
