My wife and I were greeted by Lauren Byrd's smiley face the minute we stepped into your facility. LUCKY FOR US...she is extremely knowledgeable, very eager to help, very enthusiastic and a very sweet young lady. She helped us during a number of visits ,to put our project together. We are at the tail end of a remodel involving kitchen, master bath, bedrooms, and flooring, so I am finally getting around to writing this overdue review for Carmel Stone. At the start of my remodel (9 months ago) a friend suggested I go to Carmel Sone.  I went repeatedly looking for quartzite slab for countertops and tile for backsplash, and tile ideas for bathroom.  Ultimately, I decided to buy marble tiles for kitchen backsplash at Carmel Stone because of all the places I have been to (and I went to  ALOT) their marble seemed the most pure.   I asked to meet with Lauren B., per a friend's recommendation, and I am so glad I did.  She greeted me warmly, knew exactly what I was looking for, showed me the boxes of tile I would be purchasing, pulled out a few tiles to confirm they met my expectations.  She also educated me on how many places claim to carry marble when they are not.  After purchase, she helped make sure I was not delayed in getting the marble into my car.  I was so happy and couldn't wait to see the tiles in my kitchen.A few months later, I was desperately in need of new tiles for my master bath shower.  The tiles we had purchased did not work (long story).  Based on my previous experience with Lauren, I immediately asked for her help.  She listened and easily recommended a tile that would work and my husband loved it.  We bought it on the spot, and love how it turned out in our master bath shower.Lauren provided outstanding customer service.  She is warm, down to earth, and very sweet AND she knows her stuff.  I did not feel embarrassed or pressured and valued her suggestions and expertise.  She is the reason I will always come to Carmel Stone for future stone/tile needs. I showed up to Carmel Stone Imports with no appointment and was greeted by a lovely lady named Linda.  I needed a quick tile design for a bathroom and had a few ideas in mind.  Linda heard what I wanted and guided me to the perfect solution.  Linda has a great sense of design, I am so thrilled with what she suggested for me. The search is over!  As a ceramics major, I was going to make, paint and fire my own tiles for my backsplash.  Well 22 years forward, it's still not done.  I had to give in that I would never get around to making them.  So my hunting began, store after store after store.I finally found a beautiful tile at another tile store that was being phased out and could not be ordered. I went to Carmel Stone and met Lauren Byrd.  I told her what I was looking for, she picked up the phone, did some actual talking to the vendor and performed a miracle, she was able to get my dream tile!  She gave me outstanding service even coming up with trim suggestions to compliment the tile.  She has a good eye and knows her trade.   She is as sweet as can be to boot.  Customer service is becoming a lost art but that is part of Lauren's DNA! Carmel Stone has a wonderful selection in various price ranges  from which to chose, but it's their    5 star people, especially Megan that make is outstanding. .  She is knowledgeable, thoughtful, helps  clients weigh options  & has the clients best interest at heart . The stone we selected remained in house until we were ready for it.  It was "visited" to select flooring, cabinet colors, etc.  Megan and the staff  (including the fork lift driver ) were incredibly kind, cooperative, & moved the slab    multiple times so visual access was available.  I found their "customer care" outstanding in every respect.  This is the 2nd time I've used them and would continue if there is another occasion. Lauren B was incredibly helpful in our bathroom renovation -- from: selecting materials, to thinking through "simple shower tile, pattern floor" vs "simple floor, pattern shower tile", to giving feedback on whether the space would support a curbless/doorless shower without soaking the bathroom floor, all the way down to suggesting different grout color for the floor and shower to maximize the aesthetic -- she was always enthusiastic about offering her guidance in a collaborative and wonderfully non-salesy way.  We would enthusiastically recommend her capable hands for anyone considering a kitchen or bathroom renovation. I'm very happy with the tile and countertop I purchased from Carmel Stone for my bathroom remodel. I was a bit overwhelmed other than some basic ideas, and in just a short time Lauren B. helped me choose a lovely pallet of four different tile types and a Caesarstone countertop. She worked with my designer on the quote and made sure I knew the status of the order until it all arrived. She made sure the Caesarstone slab got to the fabricator as well. This store has an amazing selection of slabs and tile that are phenomenal. Every staff member, from the receptionists to the warehouse gentlemen are very polite and efficient. We wanted a tabletop for a travertine cylinder pedestal. Going to Carmel Stone is like going into a museum.  Each slab is more beautiful than t he next. Chris was patient and enormously helpful with design options. We picked a granite that worked with the pedestal and some leather chairs. The price was very reasonable and we were given several names for the cutting and honing folks. The company we chose were marvelous also. As general contractors we really appreciate the ability to send clients to his showroom where they can select materials for floors, baths, kitchens, and exterior hardscape in one stop. Their system saves us a lot of time and makes us look good with our clients. In '14 we ordered a watercut floor package for a 10,000sf house that was on an 80' radius. Every row of tile needed a unique top and bottom radius and arc length. Happy to report that 68 unique tile IDs were delivered and installed without a hitch. Glad we get to work with these guys! Excellent service - no pressure on sales, very patient with all my questions (I have a lot) at every visit.  I've visited at least 5 times to make sure I can see full slabs of stones I'm considering and changed my mind  a few times.   Definitely a must-go before you make a decision as small samples can be deceiving on full patterns.  Their warehouse is huge with many selection - considering I've driven up and down to several places selling tiles/stones.  I think theirs might be the largest in the area.  Lighting is good too- that's important. I'll change the rating to 4 starts since finally they helped us to find a countertop slab which we want and it did look good. Just hope miscommunication won't happen next time, otherwise it is a good place for modern slabs with quality.We have picked one of caesar stone which carmel stone carries, the seller told us the stone is not in stock but carried nearby, so the leading time is at most one week. The next day our contractor come to order it, surprisingly the seller said it was in stock and could be pick up next Monday. Now it's Monday, the seller said they don't carry it in any store, we could not buy it. I think they are not only wasting my time, but also cheating, it's very unprofessional. More...

I highly recommend Carmel Stone Imports to anyone looking for more "exotic" stones/slabs/tiles as well as average material like quartz.  They have a wide range of selections  which was really helpful for my project.  I recently finished a remodel under which I gutted the whole house, so as one can imagine, needed EVERYTHING.  I went into Carmel Stone by curiosity/chance, since I always see it when driving on 101.  I'm so happy I did, with the customer service I received and the great selections they have.  I worked with Lauren (who later left Carmel) and Jeff in a 3-4 month period.  Lauren had a keen design sense, and you can tell she was passionate at what she does and at helping her customers. I had a big kitchen, 2.5 baths, and a laundry room.  My style is modern/contemporary and favored neutral color palettes, Lauren helped me color/texture match materials based on my style, cabinet colors and floor, room by room.  What was hugely helpful was I had samples for almost all stones/tiles I was thinking about.After Lauren left, Jeff took over and worked with me on quoting and scheduling process.  He was always prompt and clear on his communications, i always knew when to expect stuff to come in.  There was only one exception with the Cambria countertop being delayed (from Cambria the manufacturer), but eventually it all worked out after Jeff diligently followed up to ensure timely delivery.Their warehouse/showroom is huge, with some really cool stones and tiles that you don't see at other places.  Of course they carry the other more traditional or readily available items too.  I'd definitely recommend checking this place out.Thank you Carmel Stone Imports!- Happy Customer More...

We recently remodeled our home and were set on having calacatta. We visited several stores in the area and found that Carmel Stone easily had the largest selection, best prices and most helpful staff. There was an enormous selection of calacatta and other stone slabs. Spencer and Yesenia were very friendly and helped bring our vision to life. Spencer in particular was outstanding and gave us the best prices. We now have calacatta throughout the kitchen and in most bathrooms. We also purchased travertine tiles for our front yard. Initially, we did not realize that the tiles we bought did not have traction. Luckily for us, Carmel Stone exchanged our tiles without a restocking fee. We have recommended Carmel Stone to our family and wholeheartedly encourage anyone who is looking for stone/tile/etc to visit this amazing business. More...
