Found Salon De Cheveux based on yelp reviews and was able to get a same day appointment with Alex for a wash, cut, and style.  The salon is small, but has a great boutique vibe.  Parking was a bit tough, but I was able to snag a spot in the library across the street (as recommended on their website). Alex was great!  We had a great chat about what I was looking for and she made awesome recommendations.  I really wanted a new style and post-wedding cleanup.  The beach-y waves were on point, and it looks great when I flat-iron.  I will definitely be back!  Great service & pricing! I went to this salon for the first time yesterday and it was amazing. My hair was very uneven from a bad haircut so I needed to try somewhere new. I got a haircut and full balayage from Jordan and I couldn't be happier with how it came out. She was so meticulous with the balayage it came out perfect. I had been looking for a new salon in Boston for a while when I came across Salon de Cheveux and specifically Jordan on Instagram.  I have blonde hair and while I'd had a few balayages before, I had not been super thrilled with the results.  I loved everything that Jordan Instagramed and knew I had to get in for an appointment with her. Jordan and I talked through what kind of look I was going for, looked at some pictures of her previous clients hair and she absolutely nailed it. I have always hated getting my hair cut, mostly due to having had bad cuts in the past, but i love coming to Salon de Cheveux!  The girls here are so talented and professional and do such an amazing job.  I have gotten cuts by at least 3 of the hair stylists and they all were good. I don't know a lot about hair and they are always willing to give tips and advice when I ask.  Another perk is their online site.  It is so easy to book an appointment and you get to choose not only a time, but also the stylist.  A standard cut/wash/dry typically costs about $63, not including tip.  Overall my experience with Salon de Cheveux has exceeded my expectations and would highly recommend this salon for those looking for a new hair stylist! I've been living in the Boston area for a few years and had a hard time finding a salon that was convenient, reasonably priced, and had stylists that I could trust. I was recommended Salon De Cheveux from a friend who frequently had her hair highlighted there and loved it. I booked my appointment with Kim. Keep in mind, I'm a 27-year-old brunette who had never once died their hair. I had been interested in baylage for a while and had been wanting to try it. I finally made the appointment and when I showed up was instantly greeted and welcomed to the Salon. They handed me a really nice welcome gift with a 20% off coupon, a few product samples, and a note about their salon. When Kim greeted me, she brought me to her chair and had a conversation with me about what I wanted, what my past history was and assessed the condition of my hair. I told her it was my first experience ever with any sort of highlights. She was amazing and walked me through every step of the process. I showed her some pictures of what I was looking for and she explained to me what she thought would work best in her professional experience. I felt instantly comfortable with her and trusted her opinion. Before she did anything, she took the time to explain what she was going to do, what the result would be and why. I honestly couldn't have asked for a better first experience with a new salon, let alone for someone who has never had highlights before. I was having the worst time finding a stylist that I could stick with.... That is until one of my friends started posting her "after" hair pictures on social media. I found myself always commenting how I loved the cut and color and asking who her stylist is. When she told me Kim from Salon De Cheveux has been cutting her hair, I immediately booked the next appointment with Kim and I have never thought about going to another salon. Before Kim and Salon De Cheveux, my hair was over-processed, I had 4 different colors in my hair (clearly I needed a proper color correction), it was breaking and falling out on the sides, and majorly thinning on top of all of this. I knew my hair was a major challenge to take on and I was hoping Kim could be the one to revive it. She was, and still is!When I first met Kim, I loved that she actually took the time to listen to my hair wants/needs/problems etc. As I sat in her chair, Kim examined my hair, all over, and then explained that we had to approach my situation gently so further damage wasn't done which meant it was going to be a long process, but a much needed one in order to regrow my hair. In all my time going to Kim, I never once doubted her skill. I love how Kim explains exactly what she's doing with my hair and how she's going to work with my mess. Every time I'm in the salon, you can tell that Kim really, genuinely cares about her clients and their needs. And she really wants them to look their best when they leave the salon. I always value her professional opinion.I started going to Salon De Cheveux since before their renovation and I LOVE the space. I love walking in the door and how the other stylists greet me. When I first moved to boston I started going to a salon on newbury st, but for my wedding I was looking to find a salon closer to my apartment in southie. I had a bridal appointment with Ali for my wedding (no trial just decided to trust her) she did an amazing job on my hair. After that I was sold, and started seeing Ali for cuts and colors. Its been over 2 years that I have been seeing Ali and she is such a talented hair stylist. I have ideas what I want but always consult her and go with what she thinks. I got my hair cut yesterday by Shauna for the first time, and I love it! I'm transitioning away from having a Brazilian Keratin treatment in my super curly hair, so I didn't bother to go for the full ouidad cut that is specifically for curlies this time. I do have some curl returning to my hair and she still had great advice and handled my hair expertly. She didn't miss a beat when analyzing the condition of my hair. I've had innumerable bad haircuts because many stylists don't know how to work with my crazy tight curls, but Shauna has definitely gained my trust. I plan to return to see her in a couple months for the ouidad cut when the keratin fades away. She even took time to look at pictures of what I want next time I come in so we wouldn't go too short this time. I can't wait to go back here, I got a blow out on New Years Eve and it was amazing. I had KC, she washed my hair and gave me a nice unexpected scalp massage, and then asked me questions about my hair (how it holds, how I normally wear it, etc. ) When she finished, I loved it! It fell exactly how I wanted it too, everyone complimented it. The salon is nice as well, a bit edgy and chic, def a nice place to go to. Treated myself to a hair refresh after years of cheap cuts and dying it myself. Kasey did a great job and even now that it's growing out I get more compliments on the color. This past visit was my second time visiting this salon. Whenever I call or walk in, the receptionist is extremely friendly and accommodating. I had a color and a cut, and trusted the color to my stylist and it came out amazing. Both the cut and color came out better than I had envisioned. I had an appointment here Friday and will 120% be going back! I get the Ouidad curly hair cut which is a whole experience in and of itself but it also has to be done correctly. This was my first Ouidad cut with Shauna and she knows her curls :)She is a pro when it comes to recommending great products from the line and technique. I had previously had a Ouidad cut but my styling technique was all wrong and I'd never had anyone go over it with me so well. Ali Bowers is an artist! I started getting my hair cut with her over a year ago, and with my long, boring hair, I tend to go a long time between appointments. She still always remembers exactly how I like my hair, and also details about my life. She's constantly taking classes all over the country on the latest hair styling techniques, so she's very cutting edge and obviously passionate about her craft. I recently wanted my hair colored, but I'm terrified of bleach and I was very annoying about not knowing what I wanted. She did an amazing balayage treatment to my hair, and it looks incredible. I went in to Salon de Chexeux after researching a salon in South Boston. I am really particular about my hair and had made a few changes the past few months and wanted to get back on track. When i made the appointment i didn't specify anyone in particular because so many stylists had great reviews. I told the  girl on the phone what I currently had and what i wanted and she set me up with Allison and i couldn't be happier with the outcome. I moved to Boston from New York recently, not knowing a soul. Shortly after my move, I needed a haircut and investigated SDC because I noticed the place was packed having walked by it one afternoon. I made an appointment with Colleen Doherty, blindly, and the rest is history!Colleen is so, so great. I love hair stylists that don't just give you what you think you want, but instead give you their honest opinion about what they believe would be best for you and your hair -- and that's exactly what Colleen does. After a cut with Colleen, I feel like a million bucks. She's just so good at what she does. When my 53-year-old mother visited recently, I made an appointment for her to see Colleen, and after her cut, I swear she looked 10-years younger. Amazing! My mom is visiting again in a few weeks, and she asked me to make another appointment for her with Colleen!I've also gotten blow-outs with Allison Santillo, who's awesome! Her blow-outs are so good, I leave the salon feeling like a Victoria's Secret model. As such, I'm sure she gives a great cut as well. Allison also gives the most thorough shampoo and condition treatment I've EVER had (which is the best part if you ask me)! I plan on seeing Allison soon because she told me she can teach me how to "diffuse" my hair so that I can wear it naturally on occasion (FYI... I absolutely love Salon De Cheveux. I had met the owner Mandy at another Southie salon and when I heard she was opening up one of her own I knew I had to check it out. My schedule and Mandy's never seemed to mesh so I was paired up with Allison. Allison is amazing. She is super sweet and knowledgeable. I had been box dying my hair and it was all sorts of terrible. Over time Allison helped my lighten up my color and made my hair healthy again. Every time I go to Salon De Cheveux the staff is super friendly.  I have also had my hair cut and colored with Colleen and Ali and they are both great as well. I'm so pleased I went to Salon De Cheveux for the first time last week. The salon is really attractive and clean, the receptionist was very sweet and offered me water or coffee, got me acclimated to the way they run things (for example, they have a menu of shampoos/conditioners you can choose from for your initial wash). Colleen cut my hair and she was fantastic. She was really thorough in asking about how I usually style it and what I was looking for as well as being very careful to make sure my thick, wavy hair would fall nicely with the cut and I'd be able to continue growing it out without needing to keep getting it re-cut or styled. I've had trouble finding a salon that made me feel welcome in Southie (surprise surprise) but this place was such a welcome surprise! Also - super affordable. My last appointment with Kerri was a fabulous one as usual. She always listens to my thoughts and takes a look at my ideas (that I've brought in) and then gives me her honest feedback and thoughts. My haircut and color came out just as we discussed and I LOVED it. I have never had to wait for my appointment, it always has begun on time. At my last appointment she was even able to take me earlier due to a change in my schedule! So helpful! The salon is in a great location and it is very clean. I have been a client of Mandy's at Salon de Cheveux since it opened it's doors! Every experience is consistent and the staff never fail to make me feel at home. Mandy always asks specific questions about my life and shares great insights into the neighborhood. During my last visit, I asked Mandy to make me look like a supermodel. Although that's asking a lot, she laughed and worked her magic. I have lived in Boston for 5 years now, and my biggest complaint is that I couldn't find a stylist I could go to every time I needed my hair done.  I've had a million since I moved here.  For the first time I went back to the same place for the 3rd time in a row, and saw Alexis for 2 of them.  I am hooked.  She\\\Alexis is amazing at color and cut (and I am sooo picky).  She is patient with all my crazy ideas, and somehow figures out exactly what I want.  Not only is she amazing with my anxiety over my long hair being cut, but I went in yesterday and she asked me about my brothers that i told her about in my last visit in July, this girl is phenomenal.  I FINALLY found my go to stylist, and Alexis will be the only one going anywhere near my hair from now on!!! The shop is great, super clean, super friendly.  I only write reviews if I really love something or really hate it because I use yelp for everything! I came here a few weeks ago and I've been meaning to write a review. Salon de Cheveux is amazing! I called that day hoping to get my hair cut and they were able to squeeze me in. Ali was my stylist and she was fantastic. She was so sweet to talk but more importantly is great at what she does. I love the cut she gave me especially because it's easy to style. Normally I get frustrated blowdrying with a round brush to make it perfect and reach for my flat iron. I'm not sure what she did but it's a breeze to style and Ive gotten so many compliments. Loved this salon. I had my hair cut with Allison and she did an amazing job and listened to everything I wanted exactly and she even stayed late to accommodate me when I got out of work. The salon is bright, open, clean and conveniently  right on East Broadway. I felt the price was more reasonable than other salons in the area, namely Spa Christine which always seems overpriced to me. Salon De Cheveux also has a great referral program which has given me 15% off my last two cuts, for being referred and referring someone else. I've been coming here for about six months, and I could not be happier! Kerri, is a genius.  She always takes time to talk to me and really figure out what I'm interested in doing with my hair, even when I'm being wishy-washy.  And people constantly don't just remark that I've had my hair done, but ask if they can get my stylist's number!The first time I saw her I got a drastic cut - and each time I've been in, we've refined it so it's even more perfect for me.   We've played with the angle, the length, the layers, the bangs and even making it easier to blow dry., She's so awesome.  The salon is also super adorable and clean. Salon De Cheveau is awesome.  I was a client of Mandy's when she was at Nurture and was excited to learn she was opening her own place in Southie.  She does an awesome job and I am always happy with my hair from the highlights to the cut.  If you follow them on facebook they offer occasional complementary classes ranging from how to do a simple up do (which I took and am so happy I did!)  to how to apply your make-up, do a blow out, etc. More...

I started going to Mandy 2 years ago when I first moved to Southie and I was so excited for her when the new salon opened. It's really modern & clean inside and the entire staff is wonderful. I have recommended my friends and co-workers in the area to this salon and they all love it just as much as I do.
