BRITTNEY IS THE BEST. She NEVER disappoints when doing my hair. I wish I could post pictures of my hair bc it looks fabulous! I love the ladies of Salon 359! Melissa Grace has been coloring, highlighting and styling my locks for  almost 15 years now and her work is flawless! She is an expert and no one knows color better than Melissa. I can't even count the compliments I receive on my hair! Melissa is a great listener, she always interprets my vision into reality and is always ahead of the curve on new techniques. And most importantly, Melissa is just a great person! Was in today to see today Kris for a really much needed color correction and haircut. I don't know why I went to anyone else. Big mistake. He welcomed me back, took his time and focused on exactly how to have me walk out looking like I had real natural hair again with a fabulous cut and blow-dry (which he is so famous for). Salon 359 is perfect for those who like to spend time getting beautiful in a really comfortable and cheery place. Very high energy but tremendously personalized attention to you and exactly what it is that you want. Salon 359 offers a super amazing variety of services. From blowouts and straightening to gorgeous hair extensions and color correcting .Lots of services beyond these but these are top 4 that I've used most often.There's also a 'mini boutique' with some beautiful items.I seriously walk out of there looking and feeling great every time.Can honestly say that I think 359 is the best in OC. I have been coming here for 2.5 years and it is the best salon! Nikki is a hair goddess- in fact, everyone that works here is amazing! The place looks classier and more stylish each time I go in. Melissa Grace is an incredibly talented stylist who is schooled in the latest color techniques and the latest trends.  Strangers are always complimenting my hair's color, shine, and cut. I always leave the salon feeling refreshed, not only in terms of my look but also my soul. Love this cute salon!!!  When I first came here, my hair color and cut was in desperate need of a serious fix.  Melissa is the most amazing with color.  I love my color and am always being complemented on it.  And she gives the best haircuts, too.  I have gone from long to short over this past year, and she always knows how to cut my fine, thin hair in a way that makes it look thick with lots of body.  If you want a fabulous haircut and color, you must go see Melissa at this salon! I was referred to this salon by a friend YEARS ago and I've been hooked ever since!  Everyone that works here is super rad and always very helpful! !  I get my hair done by Nikki who is AWESOME with color!  I've always been afraid to do certain things to my hair in fear of how it will turn out!  I finally had her try an ombré on me and she nailed it!! I found this little gem through Yelp and I want to give back! It's been over two years now and I'm really happy with the service and look I get from Salon 359. Previously I had been w / the same stylist for 14 years in SF. She introduced me to Goldwell hair color from Germany and it gives the absolute best color to my hair. There was a review of Salon 359 which mentioned Goldwell, so I made my first appointment.I see Melissa, one of the owners, every 8-weeks for color and cut. I have long medium/ dark blond hair which I highlight with just color (no bleach) using Goldwell for a very natural look. I also have a fun bright-pink strip in my hair (not so natural) which Melissa also freshens up using Goldwell. The color comes out great throughout my head, especially in the front where when I have had a problem of another stylist (temp in OC before I found Melissa) not using enough foils and telling me we needed to break the root w/ additional color, which turns out  is not necessary.Melissa also gives a great cut and does a good job with layering my thick hair, but not in an overly layered look! She's very good at listening and helping to find a solution for what I'm wanting. Sometimes it is not always easy to vocalize so it is good if someone can sort of guide me from time to time. Actually found out about this salon on Instagram. My friend had her hair done by Jason and I loved! I have been here 3 times and Jason has worked magic, I didn't think it could get better but ever time I get it done I love it even more! So, it has taken me 3 long years to write a review for one of my favorite places to visit, Salon 359. I moved from a Lake Tahoe and my hair stylist there suggested I try Salon 359 as well as her friend/hair stylist Nikki Williams. I so look forward to seeing Nikki every 6-7 weeks. She cuts and styles my hair so nicely. I've NEVER had a bad cut. She always asks for my input on color/high lights. The color changes with the seasons. It's not dramatic because I'm too chicken to do something drastic but every once in a while you need a little tweaking, right?! I've had hair extensions put in as well and I love them!! Another bonus about going to Salon 359 is the owner, Rita. She is very kind. She greets me as a friend every time that I come in. Because I'm new to the area I've asked Rita whom she'd recommend for catering and florals. After getting botched highlights from a different stylist I was desperate to find someone to fix it....thank God my friend referred me to Nikki Williams (who has been her stylist for like 5 years) Not only did Nikki make room for me the day I called but she stayed 3 extra hours to get it just right for me! I even pushed my luck and asked if she could make it kinda ombre and she did gave me exactly what I wanted. I couldn't be happier. Also be sure to check out the EVO products she uses. Jason is the BEST!So a year or so ago my son has asked if he can grow his hair long, and since there are many guys out there with manly long hair these days, I totally let him. His dad, on the other hand, apparently hasn't liked this idea. So one day, he comes back from his dad's house with a GIRL'S BOB haircut! I was horrified! And right before 4th grade pictures! So we heard of Jason through a friend and OH MY GOODNESS! Jason not only made this length of hair work on my son, but he made it better than it's ever looked! And it's so easy to manage and style. My son loves it, too, because the cut actually makes his hair easier to brush, and still looks great after it gets a little messy. This man really knows what he's doing. Rita is the absolute best! Rita is the only one I have ever let touch my hair for the last 15 years. She is always able to give me the most flattering and gorgeous cut possible for my rather large head, which is no small feat. She was able to cut off 26 inches of my hair and give me a slightly longer pixie cut and it looked absolutely amazing, even though my hair was in major shock. Rita is also great because she shows you how to use all the various products to really make your hair work for you and to keep that awesome look lasting. Wow, what a place! Given that my mom owned her own salon at one point of my life, it's easy to say I have seen it all. I was walking by the salon when I notice through the window that most of the girls working there had such great color done to their hair. I walked in and was greeted by the sweetest receptionist who informed me that the person who did her hair ( along with the other girls) was the owner Rita. I was in luck, Rita had a few minutes to do a consultation and boy was she thorough. She knew exactly what I wanted and I could tell we were speaking the same language. She was able to fit me in the very next day for a cut and color. When I got there in the morning, I was pampered with water and hot coffee to wake me up. Rita started with my color; I have middle eastern dark hair and I have always wanted a golden highlight but instead I always get a orange/brassy look instead. Rita processed one strained of my hair for 45 minutes and she was honest with me that in order to get my hair to be that color, I would damage my hair and she didn't want to do that to me. She spent so much time on that one strand and I appreciated her honestly. Most stylist would just do it to get paid after spending that kind of time with someone. Rita informed me that she had an idea but it would require her to order a new product and she promised me that she would get me to the color I always dreamed of without compromising my hair. The next step was my hair cut. I am usually such a baby when it comes to hair cuts because I am so attached to my long hair. However, Rita spoke my language.. " Are you ready for BIG and SEXY hair?" she asked.  Oh boy, did I get big and sexy hair. She did such an amazing job that I almost didn't recognize my own hair. It went from being completely flat to looking straight out of a hair magazine. Rita then spent one hour with me showing me different ways to fix my hair in the morning. I have never been a hair person and I told her that a flat iron was the extent of "doing my hair." Rita showed me how to blow dry, how to put in curlers and how to use a curling iron in times when I am in a rush. I have never been able to do my hair but after I went home I was able to replicate the job that Rita did. Nikki is the ombré queen. There I said it. I dye my hair quite often, like ill bleach the begeezus out of it and dye it pink or purple or to look like a punky my little pony. So she had to save it from all that over processing and blend a hard bleached out/roots line into a soft gradient. Have you seen that tattoo show that they only do cover ups? Yeah this was like that. Pre existing major dye lines and blending- working with what's already there? She used no low lights, just some quick acting lightener and toners, so nothing will fade and did it so when it grows out it will prob look even better. Seamless :). My hair (mercifully its Asian or it would have never held up 28 years) is waayyyy healthier after DYEING plus her cut. Luckily i was referred by a friend who goes to her as well, and know how particular i am- I was afraid to try someone new here, but looks like I found my girl. She really works with what you want and the overall look you're trying to achieve since I like my  hair a little funky but still want it to look presentable. She gives great tips for your hairstyle and hair type plus referrals and referees get a discount! The salon itself is very nice, the people as well. Worth. every. penny.Highly recommended!! I moved to California just over a year ago, and after having been reffered to Kris Swanson I have yet to find anyone who does better work! ! I followed Kris from his previous Salon to 359 Boutique and willingly drive the extra miles from Irvine to come see him! He always gives me fantastic cuts (he gave me my first set of actual bangs since I was little and I LOVE THEM!) but he truly shines in the art of hair color. I always get so many compliments on my highlight/lowlight mix. Beautiful, natural, but with a boost! On a personal note, Kris is always super professional, listens to what you ask for, and will help you decide on a new look if you aren't sure exactly what you're going for. The end results have always been amazing for me!Needless to say, Kris is the man you want to see at 359 Boutique!The salon itself has a beautiful interior, their customer service was great at the front desk, they offered me a variety of beverages during my services, and the location wasn't hard to find! Nikki is the best!  She always gives me a great cut and does the BEST color.  I recently purchaed a voucher from Dealgrind for a brazilian blowout and long story short, the free haircut i incurred as part of the deal was AWFUL!  (I won't name the salon here, thats a whole other review)  Nikki was able to squeeze me in at a moment's notice and save the day.  She gave me a super cute cut and rescued my brassy color as well.  The whole process was complete within 90 minutes!  She is up to date on the latest syles and methods and is very intuitive as to what you are looking for. What - no Swanson love on here yet? Kris Swanson rules.He's been cutting my hair for years and I'm continuously amazed at his ability to transform my sad little blonde mop into something fabulous. My hair is thin & fine and I tend to feel limited as to what kinds of styles I can wear, but Kris always makes me look & feel good. I walked into this salon not knowing what to expect, I have just heard about it so I thought I would check it out. The service was AMAZING. I ended up having a hair stylist named Tiffany....OVER THE TOP! Not only did I get an awesome cut and color...I feel like I made a new best friend. I felt so at ease. I don't know why it's taken me so long to write a review; i guess I only thought of it just now....but I've had Nikki do my hair for years now. Pretty much she's the only person I let touch my color, as I'm extremely picky when it comes to that. Whether i'm going for a darker brown, a red hue, highlights, or (my newest 'do) ombre, she's always spot on with what i'd had in mind. And to be honest, most times I walk in and tell Nikki the GIST of what I want, then shrug my shoulders and let her do her thing....and she's never let me down. Plus I have to say that the whole ombre look is not as easy to achieve as you may think, and I'd had kind of a faulty time of achieving it before I let Nik take over. She not only fixed it and made it look impecabbly natural....but whenever I want to take it up or down a notch in lightness we always get a perfect result! She also does my Keratin treatment every few months...since I have ridiculous cowlicks on both sides of my very large forehead. Once she introduced me to this treatment (which has a benefit of making the hair straighter....) I have her only do my bangs and front layers...so now when i'm home and styling my own hair and can get "salon worthy" side-swept bangs without the hassle. I get a ton of compliments on my hair all the time and i refer people to her constantly. Apart from her services, every stylist in there is super cool. I go in there and just chat away for a couple hours...it's clean, has a fresh modern decor, and overall just has a really light, open vibe! I love salon 359....and the best part is, I can bring my daughter with and they NEVER mind. If anything the girls all talk to her and make her feel pampered....and I don't have to get a sitter. My regular stylist Jason just moved to this salon and I have only been there once since he moved from Salon Gregories (which is the GIANT impersonal salon&spa on the other side of the parking lot). All I can say is what a breath of fresh air. Jason's skills are superb and this salon is definitely a great venue for his talents. I only went to the old salon cuz Jason was there and I am so glad that he relocated. It is nice to walk in the door and be greeted by a friendly receptionist that will actually take his appointments for him and offer you a drink if you have to wait. So now I don't need to bug him on his personal cell at home on his day off to see if he can get me in:) My hair is thick and long and unruly at times. Previous stylists that I have been to are intimidated by the amount of hair on my head and always make comments that don't make me feel so good while I'm sitting in their chair. Jason doesn't make me feel like he can't do anything with my hair. Jason is able to cut it in a way that is super edgy and the upkeep is minimal. I always love my hair when I leave the salon.The salon is decorated like a boutique and I love the personal feel you get when you walk in. They care about the overall experience that they want to provide for their clients. The other stylists were very friendly and said hi when you walked by. Jason always makes me feel like a million bucks when I leave the salon. And I am so glad that his new Salon compliments his talents. Go see Jason and tell him I sent you!
