Ryan recently photographed our daughter's wedding and we couldn't be happier with his work. I cannot put into words just how beautiful the photos are that he sent to us. They not only capture the beauty of the day but somehow he was able to also capture the sentiment and emotions of the day. Somehow quite quietly and without being noticed both he and his assistant were able to capture every meaningful event of the day. I have poured over the photos again and again and each and every time I tear up just looking at them. The love between our daughter and her husband is so evident in each and every shot. Knowing how important photography would be on our wedding day, my fiancé and I obsessed over wedding photographers online portfolios & reviews for weeks, before finding Ryan. We were blown away by his portfolios and hoped he could do the same with us. After meeting him we realized his ability to put people at ease and his obsession with great photography would be invaluable on our wedding day. We never wanted anyone to own our wedding photos but us. His no-fuss one price approach was perfect. On our wedding day he and his assistant Mike were on top of everything and brought their A game. He gave us ideas for photo opportunities and ran with some of ours. No awkward poses. We got our photos back within 10 days and were absolutely beautiful. Technically perfect and told a beautiful story of our day. He captured so many photos we didn't even know he took. He puts you at ease and after awhile you forget he's there. Our venue coordinator worked with him before and absolutely loved to work with him. The shareable online gallery for friends and family he gave us definitely cut out the work of manually printing and sharing photos with everyone ourselves. Coming from out of state, I was not able to meet Ryan until the day of our wedding. We communicated via email and also had a phone call. Well after meeting him, I could tell right off the bat, he would be so easy to work with. And once I saw our photos, I could not be more pleased with him! Ryan absolutely blew us away! We could tell right off the bat that he was a consummate professional - he was on time, he suggested photos I had not thought of, he gave my husband and I direction, he was fine with taking shots at a different location nearby on the day of that we had not previously discussed and you actually forget he is there! I could not be more happy with our photos- they are absolutely stunning and I love not just the photos we posed for, but also all the great surprise shots of the day I did not expect! He captured the big and the little moments that truly tell the entire day. He even left us with a few mini polaroids as a sample before the night was over. He has a quick turnaround with getting your photos back to you - we received ours 8 days later! And he also surprised us with a photo slideshow of the day! My husband and I could not be happier with our wedding photos!! Before we met Ryan, my fiancé and I had met with a photographer who was trying to convince me to not get ready at my parents' home where I grew up because it would be "aesthetically unpleasing. " When we met with Ryan, who actually drove to Madison to see us and was recovering from some bad stomach bug (what a champ! still can't believe he didn't cancel!), he was more than happy to photograph our day, wherever it may be. And that he did with absolute perfection! We had the pleasure of having Ryan do our engagement as well as wedding photography. Being introverts at heart, we were slightly nervous prior to our engagement shoot that it would be awkward and that the pictures would show this. However, Ryan's energy, organization, creativity, and overall kind presence made us extremely comfortable. He is knowledgeable about the perfect places to shoot and can quickly come up with creative shots on a whim. He went out of his way to make sure that both our engagement and wedding photos were candid and fun versus posed and boring. Looking over our photos from our wedding day really conveyed the story of the wedding and the plethora of emotions and energy everyone felt throughout the day. Our bridal party, friends, and family absolutely adored him and we got tons of compliments on his services as well as photos. My husband, Scott, and I are so glad that a friend referred Ryan Davis Photography to us as we were planning our wedding! We had terrible weather (rain that turned into sleet) and didn’t want to have our families outside for pictures ; they came up with numerous great indoor locations for photos of us, our wedding party and family. Ryan and Mike were organized, relaxed and made taking pictures truly enjoyable.

Ryan also took advantage of the weather and made the rain an asset. Scott and I ventured outside a couple of times and end up with some truly breathtaking shots that we will treasure for years to come. This guy is awesome. He wasn't just there to take pictures, he actually figured out what the groom and I loved and came up with all kinds of ways to get those little things into the pictures. He made us both so comfortable right off the bat. Ryan and his assistant literally spent the day stopping traffic, laying on the road in busy intersections, tromping through cow pastures and pig barns all just to get the perfect pictures and they did it all while laughing and joking. Ryan and his assistant, Brian, were absolutely fantastic for our wedding. Leading up our wedding day, Ryan was incredibly helpful and organized. On the big day, they were great to hang out with during the day, making you feel comfortable. They were so friendly, it was easy to smile and be in the moment. We got the photos back within a week and a half! and we were blown away with the photos. He did a great job of capturing special, candid moments, along with the traditional family photos. Everyone that was in front of his lens, he made look like $1 million bucks. I would book Ryan again in a heartbeat and plan to recommend his services to all other brides and grooms.

Ryan was absolutely one of the best vendor hires of our wedding. He was so easy to work with before the wedding and on the wedding day. He was laid-back, made great suggestions to our timeline and answered our questions quickly, and seemed to be everywhere all at once on the day of. He even scouted the venue ahead of time to ensure we were efficient getting to photo spots on the day of. He and his team really captured the day and the emotion, but also captured artistic images that are super cool to look at. It all begins with his prompt responsiveness to my 900 emails and 54 requests and continues with his incredible talent and ability to capture our Big day, flawlessly. let's face it- there's nothing comfrotable about a camera in your face and a command like "act natural!" But somehow Ryan was able to make my husband and I completely at ease and in fact, act natural! Even when we were rained on our engagement session, the photos turned out gorgeous.

If I could give Ryan 10 stars, I would. We are so extremely lucky that we found him. Photography is such an important part of a wedding, and we couldn't have asked for more. Ryan was so helpful during the whole planning process and made me feel very comfortable that everything was going to go smoothly. Out of all my wonderful vendors, Ryan was the best, and I wish I could give him so many more stars. I loved working with him for many reasons, but I'll start with the most important one: his photos are stunning. And it was all the more impressive with our wedding as it was raining pretty much all day and really hard to get outdoor photos. But we actually took some outdoor shots in the rain that seriously looked like they should be in a magazine. I never thought I'd say this, but I'm happy it rained. It made the outdoor pictures we did take look particularly gorgeous. I also think Ryan is really skilled at working with different types of lighting, and a lot of his pictures have an ethereal quality to them because of how he captures soft light. He's great at capturing emotions, too, and his work tells a story, so he's a great blend of artistic shots and photojournalism.

And he is a really great value. A lot of wedding photographers around Chicago start at $5,000 and their pictures aren't nearly as special. Our package was $2,900, and he's worth way more than that. That included an assistant photographer and a fancy-ass wooden box filled with a handwritten note, print released, a few standard prints, and a thumb drive of all our pictures.

Finally, working with him was a breeze. He is super laid back, a quality that's really nice when everyone else is stressing you out. We trusted Ryan to come up with a lot of our pose ideas, and I didn't have a shot list beyond showing him which of his previous pictures I liked and having him snap the required family photos. Ryan is the boss. He is so easy going. We met with him at a coffee shop about a year before the wedding. He was so accommodating. We hired him right away. FOr what you get the prices are incredible. I was finding the same services for twice the price out of Chicago.

The day of, Ryan was great. He had a 2nd shooter, Greg, and he was also a delight. They both got so many amazing shots. It was really nice to see the pictures and see what you missed through out the day. Ryan had so many great idea, I love all our unique pictures. Nothing is too posey, they are all just right. My favorite pictures are of me with funny faces. We had a huge bridal party and he did an awesome job of getting everyone in.

We received the photos back within 2 weeks, all 980 of them. I was so excited! Basically you need to hire Ryan and sit back and let him work his magic. More...

I wish there were 20 stars because that's what Ryan Davis deserves. He photographed our wedding in July and did a fantastic job. I planned our Illinois wedding from Kansas City and search for months for a photographer. When I came across Ryan Davis' pictures, I knew I had to have him do our wedding. He drove 2.5 hours from Rockford to capture our BIG DAY.
I still can't believe how truly amazing the pictures turned out. Not only is he a highly talented and creative photographer, but he's calm and makes you feel comfortable and relaxed. I have been a part of so many weddings where the photographer was anxious and frazzled...not this guy. Also, his calm demeanor allows him to sort of blend in and capture special and candid moments. I cannot recommend Ryan enough. He also gives you rights to print, download and share all of your pictures via PASS, an awesome photo-sharing site. He even sent us a thumb drive with all of the pics. I was heartbroken to learn shortly after getting engaged that a photographer is the first thing other brides lock up. Lucky for me, Ryan had one weekend open the rest of the year (if I recall). We couldn't have been more thrilled with him! From minute one, he was always very responsive and sent me the handiest outline for a wedding day I had seen. Ryan went at least a few feet out of his way to scout our locations ahead of time, and introduced himself to the ceremony planner at Klehm. He brought along John to shoot with him, and the two of them definitely added some character to our day! Disclaimer: we have only ordered digital copies of our photos, but I have already seen them all and we got married NINE DAYS ago. Sorry Ryan, but I had to take a star off for being a day late getting photos to me and for not wearing *nice* shoes to the wedding ;-D In hindsight, I wish we could have done two things with Ryan: our engagement photos and a walk-through Klehm (our venue) to scout some spots. We planned from Colorado, so I can't gripe about a few things being un-perfect. Because our wedding day certainly was perfect, and we have some great photos to show for it!
