Ruth Malloy Interiors Ltd is the brainchild of Ruth Malloy. Along with a team of highly skilled crafts people and contractors she creates stylish and homely interiors by giving friendly and informed advice bringing your ideas to life. Ruth began her career in Interiors with a top Interior Design company in Leicestershire before embarking on her own in 2008 working out of a small showroom in Melbourne, Derby.

Ruth expertly advised and styled my new home with shutters and soft furnishings including a stunning single curtain/pole in my kitchen, along with roman blind and cushions. What’s your interior design process?
I visit to meet you in your home/business & discuss your requirements then go away & come up with initial ideas. I use Pinterest to help communicate ideas. Once we have a confirmed style then I put together detailed ideas from which quotations can be produced.
Which interior design styles can you cater for?
I can cater for all styles & design for you, the client, and not myself. I do have my own style but recognise that this is not always everyone's taste and is not going to be always right.
What do you love most about your job?
I am passionate about fabric, colour & design. I love meeting people & getting to really know them. I get a lot of satisfaction in creating fabulous homes for my clients that they love.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Having my own business gives me more freedom with few boundaries. I am not tied to particular suppliers & can therefore ensure that my designs are what is right & not what is available.

I am passionate about interiors. I have pride myself on the quality of the finished product & work closely with all tradespeople to ensure work is carried out to a high standard. I work closely with clients to ensure I am designing for them.

Curtains, Blinds & Soft Furnishings
Whether it is a single blind or a complete room the team at Cream can create luxurious soft furnishings to complement each other to the highest of standards. From bed valances to cushions, blinds to curtains all are made to exacting high standards to your bespoke specifications. Wooden and metal venetian blinds along with an array of roller blinds incl. bespoke printed, Duo rollers and customers own laminated fabric give an endless choice. All blinds conform to the latest Child Safety Legislation giving you peace of mind.
A full fitting service is available, for all window treatments, using experienced fitters and tracks and poles from suppliers such as Cameron Fuller, The Bradley Collection, Byron & Byron, Tillys, Walcot House, Alison Davies, Swish, Kirsch, Silent Gliss. We specialise in the fitting of bay window tracks and poles.
Plantation Shutters
Plantation shutters of the highest quality from leading window shutter specialist S:CRAFT . We offer a stunning range of made-to-measure shutters which are engineered to the highest possible standards, manufactured in state-of-the art production facilities and produced from some of the finest quality raw materials. Flooring
We supply and fit a range of carpets and rugs from suppliers such as Roger Oates, Jacaranda, Westex, Brockway, Firth’s, Silkwood and Alternative Flooring. Our independent fitters have many years of experience of fitting in both the domestic & contract market. We can also source, supply and fit quality hard floors.
Upholstery & Re-Upholstery
Our team of highly skilled upholsterers create a made to measure, unique, individual piece to your design or choose one of their standard designs in a fabric of your choice. We specialise in bespoke quality furniture including sofa’s, footstools, chairs, barstools & headboards. All pieces are made in Derbyshire to the highest of standards by a small team who have been working together since 1987. Their combined expertise offers superb quality products made from hardwood, glued, screwed & doweled frames combined with individually sprung backs & seats with fully coiled mesh top sprung units. Quality fillings from a range of cushion interior options giving many different levels of comfort depending on your taste & style.
Our skilled upholsterer can re-upholster existing pieces, in your own fabric, or one chosen from our extensive library. For those pieces you just can’t let go whether they are a family heirloom or extremely comfortable we can transform them back to new. Our upholsterer, based in Leicestershire, will carefully strip back each piece, repair & rebuild transforming back to their intended state.
Lighting
From task to ambient we can assess your requirements & liase with electricians and lighting designers to create the right atmosphere for your room & lighting requirements for your lifestyle. We supply lighting from Bella Figura, Heathfield, Vaughan and Porta Romana, David Hunt Lighting, Elstead to name a few.
Bespoke Lampshades
We create beautiful lampshades, from your own fabric, to complement your interior. A range of sizes & shapes are available all with quality linings in a range of shades and the option to add diffusers to create different effects. Trimmings can be added to create that truly bespoke look.
