We are here last night and the lamb Bolti  was excellent!!  If you order chicken, I would ask for chicken on the bone or they will give you cubes of breast meat.  I have heard they have excellent goat also but we did not try this.  The waiter was the best! It is a very small restaurant and they had two TVs on each side of the room.  The sound was off but felt that TVs were not a good idea in a restaurant like this.  It is not a sports bar and people go here to have dinner and talk and not watch tv.Iwould not dock their star rating because I bet they will correct this.  The TVs should be off. I have dined at Ruchi several times, as well as ordered delivery from here.  I've always enjoyed both the food and the service. While there aren't a lot of tables, I've always been seated and had food on the table in a timely manner.The last time I dined here (Oct 2019), I was told they no longer carry wine, but I believe you can bring your own bottle. I'd suggest calling ahead to confirm this.For food, we ordered the chicken 65 appetizer, which was very flavorful and moist, the chicken tikka moshola, lamb bhuna, and the ponir korma.  I enjoyed all of these dishes, especially the lamb.I'd recommend Ruchi, and plan on returning myself! This is our favorite pick-up place for a pick-me-up at the end of a long week. We've been going for a couple of years now, and have yet to find a menu item we don't like! It's all sooooo good. The owner is super nice and personable and the staff is great. Tonight we waited 5 extra minutes for some naan and the owner brought us beers on the house and the guy at the front gave us two extra desserts. This was a great experience with a group of friends. Our waiter went over the menu fully and highlighted the favorite dishes. We got the chaat which was very light and flavorful. Then we got the Korma with tilapia that had a coconut taste and a nice cool yogurt flavor. Then we got the lamb dopiazza and it was a great finish. Definitely recommend for a night out with friends! New discovery! Such a great surprise. Food was excellent, many flavors. Tried Tandoori sampler, many breads, and a couple of special dishes. Service so friendly. Would like to see less harsh lighting overhead-so many restaurants are going to surgical style LED lighting and it's not expected in a cozy restaurant atmosphere, but a truly great meal and I'll go back for sure. This was so delicious! A bit off the beaten path and not huge inside, but everyone is so friendly, and most importantly, the food was amazing. I have to say don't judge a book by its cover! The place isnt the fanciest but it  is the yummiest indian restaurant ive been to!  Their menu is huge and ofcourse full of flavor.  I ordered the cauliflower appetizer it was BEYOND DELiCIOUS! Ruchi was so great! We got the Shingaarar Chaat as an appetizer and it was amaaazing. It was the perfect amount of sweet and spicy. Entrees: Chicken Kashmiri (with bananas, pineapple, lychee, and almonds), Lamb Dopiazza (with caramelized onions). The chicken kashmiri tasted like a tropical drink. Ruchi isn't the gold standard of Indian food, but it's rock solid, reasonably priced, and has a very good (and cheap) buffet. I don't know what the difference is between Indian and Bangladeshi - I mean, I know the history of India being divided up by the English as the colonial phase ended, and how Pakistan had two parts, of which Bangladesh was the smaller portion, far to the East of the rest of Pakistan, and how it eventually got its independence and is now a center for the global garment industry...but the difference in food seems to be mostly in the names, so I figure I should compare it with Indian food rather than, say, a mix between Indian and Burmese/Malaysian. There are a few things I haven't encountered before, here, though. 1964 (maybe another year) Chicken, which was a delicious fried chicken chunk situation, was part of the buffet. Most of the buffet is good, by my estimation, with the exception of a red chicken with a tomato base that was too sweet. They don't hit it out of the park with their tandoori chicken, which is funny because their naan is top notch. The vindaloo is excellent. The korma is a bit sweet to my taste, but still good. Moved to this part of Brookhaven and this is our new curry go to. We're big Panahar fans, but this has been a great replacement. My go-to spot on GrubHub!! The butter chicken and keema naan are phenomenal and delivery is super fast!  I've also ordered carry out and the customer service was awesome. One of my friends showed me this place and she has been here multiple times! As you walk in, they have elegant traditional decor and they are playing Indian music. The servers are very attentive and friendly. The food can be spicy, but you can request how spicy you want it to be. We got a "mild" spice which was still pretty spicy. We tried the chili paneer (amazing), mixed biryani, and a lentil + vegetable combo with naans. One of the best things about living in Metro Atlanta is the food scene in Chamblee, GA and the Buford Hwy corridor. If you are looking to taste something Asian, Spanish, Malaysian or Indian, it is likely you will find something delicious in the area. [ THE SCENE ] Recently my wife and I decided to visit a Bangladeshi restaurant with really high yelp ratings. We enjoyed the food so much that we came back for another helping, but oddly they were closed on a Wednesday. A quick search on the Yelp App yielded Ruchi Bangladeshi Cuisine as a highly favored result, so we set our navigation and arrived with great anticipation.The exterior is... well... questionable. But the interior is much nicer that I expected. We were greeted almost immediately by two very eager to please men, one of whom was I believe the owner. My wife and her sister chose the buffet and I decided to go for the Goat Curry on the menu since the buffet was rather small and only one thing was to my liking (Chicken Curry). However, my wife did scoop a sample of the Chicken Curry onto her buffet plate for me to try and I must say, ordering the goat curry off the menu was definitely the right move. [ THE FOOD ]~ GOAT CURRY (4.5 stars) | $15.99The meat was sublime! Tender and plentiful, unlike some places that can be a little tough and more bone than meat. The curry was very flavorful, but I must admit I'm a spice wimp and even their "mild" curry had my nose running and tears forming in my eyes. Still, it was delicious, just wish it could have been toned down just a tad more. ~ BUFFET (3.5 stars) | $9.99GREAT deal, but my wife did not find the food here as flavorful as the Bangladeshi restaurant we visited nearby just a few weeks ago.
