I recently purchased my second couch from Ruby Living Design.  The team there is outstanding. Susan and Shivaun spent a lot of time over several days helping me pick a couch design and fabric (with no pressure or expectations I might add - honestly I think they just love design! ).  Shivaun composed a floor plan with the dimensions I gave her enabling me to buy the perfect size couch. Matt then took over managing delivery and all else. While there were a couple of snafu's each were handled promptly and honestly. I bought my custom Mitchell Gold sofa and throw pillows at Ruby. The staff is super helpful and everything arrived on time and white glove delivery was perfect. They have a great selection with a big showroom (not typical in SF) and can order anything you can think of. Great selection and customer service. Ruby Living Design is a beautiful shop with a very nice selection of furniture.  We were very impressed with the customer service.  We purchased a Mitchell Gold Bob Williams sofa that unfortunately broke within 2 weeks - a major structural piece of wood snapped.  MGBW sent a furniture technician to "repair" it, which was unsuccessful. Technician said there was a knot in the wood where it broke so probably was flawed from the start. Matt at Ruby Living was very responsive and quickly ordered us a replacement while still negotiating with the manufacturer so that we didn't have to wait any longer than necessary for a new sofa. Hopefully the new sofa is better made than the first one.  Highly recommend this shop- and suggest maybe considering one of the other stylish brands they carry. More...

Ok so after searching for over six weeks for a sofa, even bought two and returned them from different stores because in my house they ended up looking too big. ... I ended up at Ruby Living in Berkeley.... knowing as I walked in there it was way out of my budget, but hey yeah I never knew a right..... well I found the sofa there of all places and Matt was so helpful, not one tiny bit pushy or that feeling of hovering sales people... he was kind and just let me browse and I found a sofa, the sofa:) bought a floor model which made it much more affordable. My sister ordered a Mitchell Gold/Bob Williams (MGBW) sleeper sofa and ottoman from Ruby Living-Berkeley.  The sofa had many defects in quality:  lumpy, partially stuffed arms, wrinkly upholstery, etc.  After many email and photo exchanges between my sister, Ruby Living, and MGBW,  the MGBW "techs" came out to solve the problems,  Even though they tried to fix the issues, it was obvious that there was no way to make the sofa meet acceptable quality standards.  Matt at Ruby Living was extremely patient and very helpful in finally getting a replacement sofa and ottoman.  In this day and age, It is wonderful to find a store that will stand behind their products even if they might have to absorb a loss. This is a great store.  Keep the great reviews coming in. We need stores like this in our community. Unfortunately, the brick and mortar stores are fast disappearing and are becoming nearly extinct.  This store has terrific high end furniture and helpful staff, especially Matt.  If you have a problem with one person from one experience, maybe talk to them directly about it to resolve your issue rather than try to hurt their business on social media. Bad reviews can ruin a business.  Social media can be dangerous.  No situation is perfect, we all need to accept this.  The bottom line is that we need stores like this to stay open and your terrible reviews could turn people away from a fabulous resource that we need locally.  I give five stars to this place and may it thrive in business for many years to come! Matt ( and his staff), are incredibly helpful, patient and give EXCELLENT customer service!  I have purchased several gorgeous pieces here and will continue to as needed. I've shopped at Ruby stores every time I visit San Francisco. They are very easy to work with, carry all the higher end lines, and do a great job of working with you no matter your aesthetic or location. I had a great experience ordering furniture through Ruby Living! Laurie came to my home to do a design consultation and helped me figure out the dimensions I needed in my rooms. She also gave us great suggestions for furniture that I wouldn't have found on my own. Laurie was also so patient with my many visits to figure out which fabric we wanted to go with for our sofas. This store sells Mitchell Gold furniture.  I have a 12 year old MG+BW couch with slip covers and needed new slipcovers.  Laurie helped me immensely by helping me to choose new fabric and create the order. When I told her I was unhappy with my couch cushions as they had lost their shape over the years, she contacted Mitchell Gold, and since I'd had my original receipt, not only did MG send me the two cushions I asked for, but ALL NEW cushions for both the couch and the chair.  So essentially I have a new couch for free with new slip covers on the way.  I was astounded at this customer service and thank both Laurie and the company itself (which is based in North Carolina). I ordered 2 lovely benches from Eclexion for my dining table and not only received them on time but I also got monthly calls on the status of the benches. The owner made sure I knew there would be a delivery charge and that he would add it to my final bill (so that I wouldn't mistakenly pay the delivery folks too).
The delivery guys were friendly and when I asked to have them lift the benches up so I could put the little stickies on the legs to avoid scratching my hardwood floors, they replied "oh we already did that for you!" WOW that is really considerate. Thank you! More...
