Dated and quiet at night, but delicious breakfast with many many options, lovely room and nice toiletries, great location, great views, hot strong shower, dog friendly and lovely staff. Look beyond the slightly shabby carpet and very quiet evenings and the royal goat is lovely basic accomodation for anyone visiting the area. More...

The size of our twin room was ok, but the bathroom was quite small, especially the shower. We found the beds comfortable and slept well and the room was clean. We had three meals at the hotel. All were good. The staff were mostly friendly and efficient. I would gladly stay here again. More...

After a long but beautiful drive through the Snowdonia National Park, we arrived in Belgelert and the Royal Goat. The hotel is just the kind of placr you would want in a small village in the mountains. ||Our room was small but cozy and they did have an elevator/lift to our room. The restaurant was perfect: good beers, local and British, and surprisingly good food. We had Lamb Rump and the Pepper salad with grilled goat cheese. Both were flavourful and delicious, especially after our drive. Breakfast was also good the typical British fare of puddings, eggs, sausage. More...

The Royal Goat is in a truly lovely location not too far from Snowdon. It was clearly a smart hotel once, but is now rather dilapidated and in need of a face lift. However it has a lovely comfy feel to it and the staff are really pleasant.||If you have a dog or dogs, then the Goat is perfect as it is is truly dog friendly and you are able to take your dog to most areas of the hotel. There are also plenty of nearby walks to exercise him/her.||Parking is not ideal as it is across the road opposite to the hotel, but as we were staying in the autumn, we didn't have a problem in getting a space.||There is a small lift, which is somewhat scary but is useful if you struggle with stairs. We have stayed at many hotels, with and without our dog, but we were very pleased to find such a nice hotel, where we could very happily take her. More...

What a great creaky old pub, more for accomodation than a local. Good value rooms, crooked walks and creaky floors, but really comfy rooms and brilliant breakfast

The staff were all amazingly friendly and attentive. The breakfasts were great! The room was a tad outdated but comfortable enough. We were in the eaves where my partner found it difficult to use the bathroom being so tall. But that said location is fab for Snowdon and Beddgelert itself is beautiful with a nice selection of pubs. We had a lovely few days at the Royal Goat, we have stayed there previously as frequent visitors to Wales. The hotel seems to be going through regeneration , our room was dated and in need of updating, however it was evident that is in progress and it certainly wouldn’t deter us from returning, Staff are all very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was superb, The area is amazingly spectacular with so much for visitors to see and do,Looking forward to our return. More...

Stayed here for 2 nights with my wife and dog , as a base for climbing Mount Snowdon, we had a great stay, really friendly staff and the hotel couldn’t be any more retro if it tried (peach bathroom suite with brown bacolite handles lol ) which added to the charm, WiFi was a bit hit and miss but that’s a good thing in my opinion. Beddgelert village was picturesque and fantastic, even my wife enjoyed it. Shower was hot, bed was comfy, we had the room in the top right of the picture with the pole on the roof so had a bit of a walk to it. There’s plenty of choice for fussy eaters (Vegan @ Vegetarian here) in the village and hotel. I think the hotel deserves a 5 star as they made us feel welcome and it was perfect for our needs and I can’t fault it, however if you are looking for a modern hotel with the latest bedroom suites then you’d better look elsewhere. The room was very clean and spacious and the service was excellent. Breakfast, which was included in our reservation, was prepared individually and was fresh and delicious. Only downside was, due to the old building and the location of our room, that we could hear every single step of guests walking around in the hallways. I assume any other room would have been a lot quieter. Over all though a brilliant experience, would book it anytime again! More...
