Rowan's Dog Training

3 years ago we adopted Max, the best dog ever. We were told that he lived in shelters for 2 years of his life and we assume he was very neglected. He was scared of everything, would pace in nervousness, and taking him on a walk was difficult because he would bark at every dog he saw. Fast-forward to today after 3 years of training from Rowan, Max let go of all of these insecurities and is happy, healthy and thriving. We can't thank Rowan enough for all the hard work she has helped us put in to make this happen.

Before our baby was born, Rowan worked with us to make sure Nolan and Max would have a happy transition together. I'm glad to report that they are best friends and watching them together always bring a smile to my face. More...

Rowan helped so much with training my energetic dog when I first adopted her! She came to my house each week to do hands on training and provided lots of resources at a reasonable price compared to other trainers. Rowan was so great to work with! She I was very nonjudge-mental and gave us awesome advice/practice with our dog who has ‘stranger danger. ’ My dog is a tricky one and she was patient with her since day 1! Rowan’s prices are fair, she’s easy to communicate with, and was really stress-free to schedule with. Rowan gave my husband and I a lot of tools and awesome suggestions to help combat our dog’s anxiety with meeting new people. Rowan took a great deal of time to get to know me and my dog in order to figure out what we wanted from the service and how best to accomplish that. Because of the current situation, we have only been able to have one in home visit but we have had a couple of scheduled phone visits to review progress. These sessions have been very helpful. Our dog has learned so much in just a few lessons with Rowan. It really has been beneficial for the entire family! Walking without pulling, sit, stay, down, touch, and confidence building exercises have all been extremely beneficial to our pup's growth.

Rowan is very knowledgeable with a true, behaviorist approach. As a human behaviorist, I could relate to her positive reinforcement strategies with the science to back it up, yet her ability to describe and show by example was simple and easy to catch on. Rowan is a great listener and equally exceptional with providing feedback. I was impressed with how well she connected with our pup and how responsive he was to her training techniques in just a short amount of time. Rowan also did a fantastic job of incorporating our kiddos into the training session with kid friendly language, making it fun and interesting but also setting limits to not have the kiddos eat up the entire hour.
