I came here on a Monday night after work on my way home. I had always seen the place from the Highway, but you need to get on the frontage road between 87th st and 75th st to get here. When I walked in, I noticed immediately that this is a pretty divey Bar and Grill/ Sports Bar. I sat down in a booth and checked out the menu as regulars started sreaming in to watch Monday Night Football. Monday's are also their Burger Special night. I ordered the Bacon, Mushroom, Onion and Swiss burger. It's name is fairly self explanatory but it has nearly all the toppings I like on my burgers. I also ordered a side salad instead of fries. The salad was the first thing to come out. I'm typically and iceberg lkettuce kinda guy when it comes to a salad. But this had all sorts of leafy greens and purples. Not really my thing, but gave me some insight that maybe this dive bars food is not just bare minimum like many. Next the burger came out. Usually I prefer "smash" burger patties as opposed to thicker tavern type burgers, but this one was really good. The toppings and flavor of the burger all melted together to give a very pleasant experience. Everything here was above expectations for a dive bar. Really good burgers and fries for a reasonable price! Neighborhood bar vibe. Seemed to mostly be locals and there was a live band the night we came (they were okay, it made it a little loud to watch the sports on tv). A former coworker and I decided to have lunch at Roni's at the suggestion of a friend. Wing Wednesdays provide $.50 wings, so it sounded like a good option. What a great option it was! I got 10 boneless wings, 5 each of different flavors, and I was blown away at how much meat each had, how crispy they were, and the flavor of the sauces was amazing. This ain't a fern bar, scooter. This is a real bar where real people go to eat good food and unwind. If you were looking to eat kale while wearing Prada and sipping a Chardonnay, probably not your place. I really enjoyed my visit. I went there for the NCAA Tournament and had a blast. There was ample seating with plenty of TVs scattered throughout. The beer was cold and very affordable. Our server was very friendly and made sure we were taken care of. The food was delicious and came out quickly. They have other bar games like pool and a hoop machine to keep the guests entertained. So glad I gave this place a second chance. I consider myself a wings connoisseur. First time I went was on a Saturday and I didn't enjoy the wings. They had a bad day. I want back on a Wednesday months later for their wing deal and let me say this it was incredible....we order 20 wings crispy to go. I got three flavors; garlic Parmesan, bbq and buffalo.
